After making it an incredible 12 winners from the past 13 in Germany on Thursday, Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me delve into the European World Cup qualifiers, and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Italy begin their World Cup qualifying campaign with a trip to Oslo on Friday night, as they take on early pace-setters Norway at the Ullevaal Stadion in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Stale Solbakken’s hosts have fired in an impressive 24 goals across their previous seven competitive clashes, with 10 (42%) of them coming across their three home matches in that run.
The Lions have found the back of the net in all seven of those matches – notching on multiple occasions in six (86%) of them – and will be confident of breaching an Azzurri defence that kept just one clean sheet across their eight Nations League matches, shipping 2+ goals in each of their last three.
Luciano Spalletti’s visitors slammed in 17 goals across their eight Nations League fixtures, with nine (53%) of them coming on their travels.
The Azzurri found the back of the net in each of those eight Nations League contests – striking 2+ goals in five (63%) of them – and will look to breach a Norwegian backline that has shipped nine goals across their last seven matches, with their clean sheets in that run coming away at Moldova and at home to Kazakhstan and Slovenia.

Italy’s eight Nations League fixtures averaged an eye-catching 3.75 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in seven (88%) of them – and given the form of both side's attack and their lack of clean sheets – I’m expecting an entertaining encounter in Oslo on Friday night.
