Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the Norwegian Eliteserien and I like the look of the league leaders to collect another three points at home against a side that have struggled on their travels so far this season.
Lillestrøm vs Vålerenga
🇳🇴 Eliteserien
⏰ Wednesday 25th May, 19:00
Lillestrøm will look to maintain their place at the top of the Eliteserien table, as they host mid-table Vålerenga at the Äräsen Stadion. The hosts are currently above Viking only on goal difference, whilst the visitors are lying in 10th, ten points worse off than their upcoming opponents.
Despite falling behind inside the opening five minutes, Lillestrøm maintained their unbeaten start to the season last time out, as they ran out 1-4 winners away to Sandefjord. Geir Bakker’s side have now won six and drawn one of their last seven in the Eliteserien, with the draw coming away to reigning champions Bodø/Glimt. Lillestrøm have a 100% record at the Äräsen Stadion so far this season, winning all four of their fixtures without conceding a single goal. Only Viking (18) have scored more goals in the Norwegian top-flight than the 17 The Canaries have scored.
Despite scoring twice in the second-half, the damage was already done in the first-half for Vålerenga last time out, as they lost 3-2 away to Strømsgodset. That loss extended the Oslo-based sides winless run to three matches, with their sole point in that run coming at home to newly-promoted Ham-Kam. Vålerenga have W3-D1-L4 so far this season, with their three wins coming against three of the current bottom four. Dag-Eilev Fagermo has saw his side lose four of their five fixtures on their travels this season, conceding 11 goals in the process.
Bet of the Day
Lillestrøm have made an impressive start to their Eliteserien campaign and will be confident of collecting all three points at home to Vålerenga. The hosts have collected 20 points from a possible 24 and come into this having won all four of their home matches without conceding a single goal. The visitors have won three of their opening eight fixtures but they have all came against three of the current four and given they’ve lost four of their five matches on their travels, conceding 11 goals, I’m more than happy to back the league leaders to collect all three points at what I think is a generous price.
