Monday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me focus on the World Cup Qualifiers. I’ve picked a couple of selections from Europe in which I like the look of to give us a nice odds against double.

🇮🇱 Israel vs Faroe Islands 🇫🇴

🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Monday 15th November, 19:45

Israel host the Faroe Islands at the Netanya Stadium in both sides final qualifier. Both sides are already eliminated with the hosts positioned in 3rd place on 13 points, while the visitors are in 5th on four points.

Israel were defeated 4-2 in Vienna on Thursday evening to end their hopes of qualifying for their second ever World Cup. Prior to that defeat, Israel defeated Moldova 2-1 at home to make it back to back victories at home. Israel have won four of their nine qualifiers, including a 0-4 victory in the reverse fixture in Tórshavn. Israel are the second highest scorers in Group F, scoring 20 goals. All four of Israel’s victories in qualifying have seen them score at least twice.

Faroe Islands became the first side to score against Denmark in Group F on Friday evening but still fell to a 3-1 defeat. That’s now seven defeats in nine group matches for the Nordic nation, with them losing each of their last three qualifiers. In fact, all four of the Faroe’s points in the group have came against bottom side Moldova. The Faroe’s are yet to keep a clean sheet in qualifying, conceding 20 times, with 11 of them coming on the road.

🇬🇧 Northern Ireland vs Italy

🇪🇺 World Cup Qualifier

⏰ Monday 15th November, 19:45

Italy travel to Windsor Park knowing they must match or better Switzerland’s result to qualify for next years World Cup. Italy are currently above Switzerland in Group C on goal difference, whereas Northern Ireland are in 3rd and are already eliminated.

Northern Ireland secured their second victory in qualifying on Friday night as they done the double over the groups bottom side Lithuania in a dominant 1-0 victory. However, Northern Ireland have struggled in qualifying taking just eight points from their seven matches and scoring just six goals. Five of those goals have came against Lithuania, failing to score in four of their qualifiers. All three of Northern Ireland’s defeats in Group C have seen fewer than four goals being scored.

Jorginho’s late penalty miss meant that Italy could only draw with Switzerland meaning they must match or better Switzerland’s result at home to qualify for their first World Cup since 2014. That goal Switzerland scored was only the second goal the Italians have conceded in qualifying, keeping five clean sheets, with four of those matches resulting in victories. Italy have scored 13 goals in qualifying with seven of those goals coming against Lithuania. Italy are unbeaten in their last 12 competitive away matches, winning 10 with nine of those seeing fewer than five goals.

Bet of the Day

Israel’s hopes of catching Scotland in second place may be over but they’ll want to finish off their campaign with a victory over 5th placed the Faroe Islands. Israel have won each of their last two qualifiers at home and also won the reverse fixture with the Faroe Islands 0-4. The Faroe’s have lost all seven group games against the sides above them in the group, conceding 18 times and I’m expecting them to fall to defeat here once again in Netanya. I’m happy to back an Israel win with them scoring at least twice. With the Swiss expected to defeat Bulgaria at home, Italy know they’ll most likely need to defeat Northern Ireland to qualify automatically for next years World Cup. Their opponents Northern Ireland are already eliminated and have struggled for goals throughout the campaign and I don’t see them giving Italy too many problems defensively. Italy won the reverse fixture 0-2 and a similar result here wouldn’t surprise me here, therefore I’m happy to back an Italian win and under five match goals.

  • Israel to win & over 1.5 goals
  • Italy to win & under 4.5 goals
  • Double Pays 11/10 (Bet Victor)
