Football Bet of the Day: Entertaining clash expected in Switzerland

Saturday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into the Swiss Super League and I like the look of goals between the two of the top three sides.

Zürich will look to extend their lead at the top of the Swiss Super League, as they travel to the Wankdorf Stadium to take on reigning champions Young Boys. The visitors are currently 12 points clear of 2nd-placed Basel, whilst the hosts are 14 points behind their opponents.

Young Boys drew 2-2 for the second successive match last time out, with both coming against the bottom two in the league. Young Boys have lost just once at home this season (W8-D4-L1) and have won four of their last six on home turf. The Boys from Bern have found the back of the net in 22/26 of their league matches this season, failing to score just once at home. Young Boys are the divisions joint-top scorers with 59 goals so far this season, with 28 of those coming at home. Matteo Vanetta’s side have recorded just five clean sheets so far this season, with none of them coming in their last seven.

Zürich saw their 17-match unbeaten run in the league come to an end last time out, as they were defeated 0-3 at home to St. Gallen. Prior to that defeat, André Breitenreiter’s side have won 12 of their last 13, including six of their last seven away. Zürich have found the back of the net in all bar two of their 26 league fixtures this season and are the leagues joint-top scorers, finding the back of the net on 59 occasions. FCZ have recorded nine clean sheets this season with three of their four away from home coming against the current bottom-four.

Bet of the Day

Zürich will look to bounce back from their first defeat in the league since the end of September, as they take on a Young Boys side who have won just one of their last five in the league. These two are both the joint-top scorers in the Swiss Super League, scoring 59 goals each and with both scoring in 46/52 of their combined matches this season, there’s a good chance we’ll see both get on the scoresheet here. Young Boys have recorded just five clean sheets all season, conceding 12 goals in their last seven and with the Andrè Breitenreiter’s visitors conceding in 9/13 away from home, I’m happy to add in over two match goals, along with both sides scoring in what should be an entertaining clash in Bern.
