In this article, we have provided our Fantasy Premier League tips & predictions ahead of Gameweek 23 of the Fantasy Premier League (FPL) game.
Gameweek 23 boasts some very interesting fixtures and the potential of big scores for some of the most popular players in the game including the likes of Mohamed Salah and Alexander Isak, who face off against struggling Ipswich Town and Southampton at home and away from home respectively.
Here are our latest FPL tips that should hopefully help make all of those informed transfer, chip and captaincy decisions needed ahead of the deadline…
Our Fantasy Premier League tips
FPL gives out points based on player performances, which can be both positive and negative. It can range from a player scoring a goal (positions are given more points than others, for example a defender will gain six points for scoring a goal as opposed to four for a forward) or being shown a yellow card (-1pt), as well as many other metrics.
Who to have as FPL captain
In Gameweek 23, if you own him, Salah is perhaps the most viable captaincy option given his irresistible form for Liverpool so far this season, and the fact that the Reds have a favourable fixture on paper against Ipswich at Anfield.
However, for those who do not own Salah or want to pick a differential captain, Isak (£9.5m) could be a great differential choice given his impressive goalscoring form of late, with Newcastle United travelling to rock-bottom Southampton this wekeend.

Should the triple-captain chip be used?
Assuming that Salah is the most viable captain choice in Gameweek 23, using the triple-captain chip on him could seem tempting given the big FPL hauls that we know that he is capable of, added to the fact that Ipswich go to Liverpool low on confidence having shipped no fewer than six goals at home to Manchester City last time out.
However, we would advise, if it has not been used already, to use the chip in a double gameweek, where teams play more than one fixture and therefore give more of a chance of a big points haul for the captain, and Salah could well take advantage of that in Gameweek 24 as Liverpool play both AFC Bournemouth and Everton away from home.
Who is likely to get booked?
Dutch midfielder Justin Kluivert (£5.6m) will be a popular player to bring in after his impressive hat-trick in Bournemouth's 4-1 win away at Newcastle last time out. However, he is at risk of picking up a yellow card having received a grand total of six so far in the 2024/25 campaign, and he could get frustrated as the Cherries host high-flying Nottingham Forest at the Vitality Stadium in Gameweek 23.
Market-best odds on Justin Kluivert to be booked: 24/5
Which defender is most likely to score?
Crystal Palace and England international central defender Marc Guehi (£4.5m) could add to his three goals in the Premier League so far this season as the Eagles play host to fellow London rivals Brentford at Selhurst Park. He managed to get himself on the scoresheet in a 2-0 victory for Palace against Leicester City at the King Power Stadium only two gameweeks ago, and so should be confident of finding the back of the net again, this time on home turf.
Market-best odds on Marc Guehi to score anytime: 13/1
Our top three cheap in-form players
Lewis Hall
As Newcastle visit the bottom-placed team in the Premier League in Southampton this weekend, Lewis Hall (£5.1m) could be a great transfer in if FPL managers have not done so already. Indeed, the England international left-back has managed to pick up an impressive total of 52 points across the last seven gameweeks, averaging just over seven points in each one.
Eberechi Eze
Eberechi Eze (£6.7m) is a nice mid-priced pick for FPL managers looking for a new midfielder to transfer into their teams. Indeed, the Englishman is Palace's talisman having picked up no fewer than one goal and three assists in the last four gameweeks, and will fancy his chances in front of his own fans this weekend against a Brentford team who have really struggled away from home in the Premier League this campaign.
Harry Wilson
Harry Wilson (£5.2m) has now established himself as a regular starter in the Fulham team after a string of impressive cameos from the bench. The Wales international midfielder has scored 29 points in total over the previous five gameweeks, as the Cottagers play host to a Manchester United side this weekend who will be tired after being pushed all the way by Glasgow Rangers in their 2-1 win at Old Trafford in the UEFA Europa League (UEL) on Thursday night.
