WHEN Kenny Dalglish returned to the Anfield hotseat his priority was to guide the Reds away from the drop zone.
Job done. Next he wanted to restablish Liverpool as a top-six side. Job done.
Thirdly he wanted to make them tough to beat and lose their soft centre. Job done.
And finally a return to the Champions league would be the icing on the cake. Job not done.
There is no doubt the Premier League is where Dalglish is fully focused so where does a Europa League clash at Sparta Prague fit into his plans?
Dalglish hates to lose so he won't take the tie lightly but some players are bound to be rested.
And he's short up front with Luis Suarez cup-tied and Andy Carroll not yet fit so there could be a role for David Ngog who started the season so well under Roy Hodgson.
Ngog is 6-1 with Ladbrokes to score first but if he starts Steven Gerrard at 13-2 with the same firm is probably the better bet.
Liverpool are a biggest 20-21 with Chandler to win in Prague and 1-6 at Skybet to qualify.
I think they'll nick a one-goal win but don't rule out a draw at 5-2 with Chandler and Stan James.
We might see the sort of display that gave Dalglish a 1-0 win at Chelsea recently and if so then look at bodog's 7-10 on under 2.5 goals.
Sparta are 16-5 at totesport and William Hill to win tonight and 4-1 with Hills to qualify.
Recommendation:
- Under 2.5 goals (7-10, bodog)
