SATURDAY night's alright for fighting and there's two blockbuster bouts that pack a punch this weekend.

First up is reigning Olympic flyweight champ Nicola Adams – the first British woman to ever win a boxing gold – attempting to retain her title in the final in Rio.

Adams is due in the ring in the early hours of Sunday morning and is 1-4 at Betfred to defeat her opponent, French fighter Sarah Ourahmoune, the 23-5 underdog at marathonbet.

Switching from boxing to UFC, it's the much-anticipated rematch between Conor McGregor and Nate Diaz in Las Vegas.

McGregor suffered a shock defeat to the American in March and is 4-5 at the likes of Skybet and BetVictor to get even with a victory while Diaz is chalked up as 23-18 outsider at marathonbet.

Other sporting highlights today include the likes of cycling canoeing and basketball at the Olympics plus Cincinnati Masters tennis so post your tips and chat here and good luck with your bets.

In my opinion i would steer well clear of straightforward wins in the UFC tonight. Diaz’s win was no shocker, he is a great fighter, and gets overlooked because he sounds a bit drippy.

No doubt McGregor will be much more prepared here, drafting in taller southpaws, having his bespoke gym, etc. but i would still be sceptical. McGregor is hyped for this, and as much as McGregor has been working on his cardio, i wouldn’t be surprised if emotions got the better of him and he tried to go for the KO and empty his tank early doors. Diaz will know this and try and drag McGregor into as many rounds as possible.

Anyway, two bets i’m backing, that aren’t football related:

    1) Australia v New Zealand – Rugby Union (11.05am UK) – New Zealand win @1.42; and
    2) Diaz v McGregor – UFC – Under 2.5 rounds @1.72 – hoping McGregor goes for it early doors and either McGregor knocks Nate out, or gets tired fast and Nate finished McGregor via sub.

GL whatever you follow gents. Here’s to another good day.

On a side note, i also chucking a fair amount on:

      Anthony Johnson v Glover Teixeira – Johnson to win by KO/TKO/DQ in Round 1 @ a huge 2.62 (B365)

Johnson is hungry for a title shot and in amazing shape – the guy is an absolute unit. Teixeira is no joke, although he doesn’t have the same drive anymore. Not to mention, 3/5 of Johnson’s last fights he won in the 1st round by KO/TKO.

Despite the odds, i am more confident on this bet than the McGregor one above.

First post for a long time.

I think I have spotted some value in the rugby league game between Leeds and London Broncos, starts at 3

365 are offering Leeds over 50.5 team points at 3/1 and I think Leeds will win by 50+ points so I’m going to have a nibble at those odds.

    Leeds over 50.5 – 3/1 with 365
