TopTips_Betfred

MY main tips took a pasting on Saturday with my faith in Louis van Gaal's Man United not paying off as they bombed the Top Treble and five homes.

I said in my anteposts preview they needed to sign several players to have any chance of challenging for the title but I expected them to be good enough to sink Swansea. Stoke looked a decent Super Single pick but Aston Villa put up a better display defensive wise.

It was site sage raaljaca who said “I don't bet on the opening day of the Premier League” and he's a canny judge. It's not easy at this time of the season – and the closeness of the results in the top flight show that – and anyone who prefers to wait until there's a bit of form should do so.

Unfortunately I can't do that but I'll have better days and I'll have worse days – always will. That's football betting for you.

My Euro treble wen until almost the last minute before Longford let me down but I managed three aways out of four for an 8-1 treble thanks to Blackburn, Queen of the South and Peterhead.

Hopefully Sunday will be a better day and we have the likes of Liverpool v Southampton, Newcastle v Man City and Hearts v Hibs to look at. In France Marseille and St Etienne look good for home wins while Monaco travel to Bordeaux. Portuguese champions Benfica entertain Pacos Ferreira and Dutch champs Ajax travel to AZ.

There are loads of FA Cup qualifying ties featuring many sides I haven't heard of, including FC Romania so if anyone has a knowledged of these some info would be good. There also Italian and German Cup ties with Bayern Munich at Munster. The champions are of course extremely short but it could be one for goals or handicaps depending on the strength of their starting line-up.

I decided early on to stick up Hearts as the Super Single. Jambos fan raaljaca is convinced they'll beat Hibs at home and as a neutral the stats stand up.

In last season's top flight Hearts won three of four meetings between the sides and started the season with a superb 2-1 win at Rangers. Hibs lost to Rangers in the Challenge Cup but opened their Championship campaign with a 2-1 defeat of Livingston.

Alan Stubbs took over a team in a mess and needs time to make progress. Hearts look in better shape than their great rivals and the only concern is the fact they'll likely to be playing young third-choice keeper Jack Hamilton after injuries to Neil Alexander and Scott Gallagher with the latter being a major doubt.

Hamilton's rated highly but can he handle the heat? Tynecastle is a 19,000 sell-out and the atmosphere will be red-hot but the Jambos defence is decent and they'll be doing everything they can to protect the goalie.

Hibs signed Farid El Alagui to score the goals they were missing last season while Paul Heffernan will pose a threat but Hearts have enough quality throughout the team to take the points.

Having looked at dozens of games I generally going with what I know for the Top Treble. I'm leaving Liverpool and Man City out even though I believe both will win. But after Saturday's events in the Premier League both look a bit short.

So I'm starting the treble in Holland with Groningen at home to Heracles. Groningen started the season by beating Go Ahead away last week while Heracles were crashing 3-0 at home to AZ.

Groningen finished the season superbly to qualify for the Europa League but then crashed out unexpectedly to Aberdeen. They recovered well to win their league opener and face a side they beat 3-1 at home on the final day of last season and who have now lost five of their last six Eridivisie outings.

On top of that Groningen have a decent home record against their opponents with six wins in the last seven meetings.

Go south to France to complete the treble with Marseille and St Etienne. Marseille have won their last four meetings against a Montpellier side who finished way down in 15th last season.

The home side are looking for a big season under Marcelo Bielsa and have won five of their last six home meetings with Montpellier.

St Etienne started with a 2-0 win against Guingamp and should see off a Reims side who did well to hold PSG 2-2 at home. A trip to St Etienne is tough though with the hosts losing just twice in front of their home fans last season and that included a 4-0 romp over Reims who finished the campaign with four defeats in five matches.

I've had a look at the goal markets and like this treble. Start with both to score at AZ v Ajax with four of the last five meetings coming up. Add over 2.5 goals at Benfica v Pacos Ferreira and this has come in five of the last six times they've played in Lisbon.

Complete the line with over 3.5 goals at Munster-Bayern. Munster are a third division side sitting 12th in the table so even a weakened Bayern should beat them easily. The champs are without Bastian Schweinsteiger, Franck Ribery, Thiago, Javi Martinez, Rafinha and Mitchell Weiser but interestingly Arjen Robben is in the squad and could start.

The tie is a 15,000 sellout and live on TV after their tame Super Cup defeat by Dortmund last week Bayern boss Pep Guardiola is talking about the need for his players to be up for this one.

what happened to your level stakes at all times fixer?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

porter, I have my own staking plan and betting bank. Nothing’s changed – I always advise level stakes. There is enough in my betting bank for me to try recoup today’s losses. It’s not a tip just a statement of intent.

    HEARTS V HIBS

    HEARTS TO WIN 6/5

First Edinburgh derby of the championship is at Tynecastle. Hearts have the nucleus of the side that finished the last third of last seasons Premier League in second place behind Celtic form wise and without the points deduction would have finished above Hibs even though we fielded a virtually teenage side all season. Hearts have added Sow, Gomis Ozturk and Buaben to the team and started with a victory at Ibrox. Hibs have added a couple of new recruits and look to have improved slightly on last season after Butchers disastrous rein but still have the vast majority of those who disgraced the club by getting relegated. The atmosphere will be incredible, 19,000 sell out, but the majority of the Hearts side will thrive on it as they beat Hibs 3 times last season from 4 matches. Hearts third choice keeper Jack Hamilton will start tomorrow and not the new signing Hollis but at the other end Oxley can be the key to Hearts winning this, I honestly believe the atmosphere will get to him and he looked very unsafe at Ibrox but at Tynecastle the crowd are closer to the pitch and it is genuinely not an enjoyable place to visit. Hearts have the ability and pace to test the Hibs defence whereas I see Hearts defence being able to contain El Alugui and Heffernan which means if we keep Harris and Stanton quiet, which we can do, then Hearts can win this at a very very good price.

Back Arsenal to WIN in-play during HT.Palace will park the bus 2nd half but Arsenal will go all out attack.Rosicky and Giroud are on the subs bench but can change the game if they come on.Arsenal will win 3/1 imho.

Already on Hearts to win but good write up, Raal.

Daz, did you manag to get on Arsenal to win in time before they scored?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chip, before the price changes I’m going for Hearts as the Super Single. Tipped them in the Record today and expect them to beat Hibs – the keeper situation is my only concern.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Jack Hamilton is a big imposing guy who will not be intimidated Mr F and will have no problem coming out for cross balls etc I am actually happier with him rather than Hollis whom I know little about.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, I’m taking your word about Hamilton. Hollis never got much of a chance at Motherwell so not sure about him.

  12. Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

2nd biggest bet of the year on Jambo’s last week ,tomorrow I wouldn’t touch them with stolen money ,judging on the games against Rangers it’s too close to call but edging towards Hibs

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Duncan, my confidence comes from my reckoning that we have the defensive ability to snuff out Hibs attack and at the other end we can score goals without a doubt.

  13. Chip 10 years ago

Mr F, I’m a little concerned about Hearts’ keeper situation too. Raal seems confident though and he does know his team well…

    ard Market ALERT ALERT ALERT!

A new betting fixture just for fun for my new season.

These two fixture tick most boxes, gulf in class, hollywood ref’s, a derby all be it a small one, pissed of players maybe. anyway small stakes advised of course.

    Opening day fixtures

    Arsenal V Palace 4/6 cards @2/1 **WIN** :)
this referee looks trigger happy 186 cards in 59 matches

It may all get too much for poor eagles.

    Swansea card before 34min 5/6 **WIN** ;)
mike dean loves pulling out his little yellow freind dont think it will be too long today.

27 games last year he was in charge of 101 yellows!

My pleasure hope you got on!!

    • thechief 10 years ago

      Nice one Johnny mate :)

      Excellent stuff Johnny mate ;)

  17. thechief 10 years ago

No Luck in Holland despite PSV scoring SIX goals :( working all day so it was small stakes on the 3pm games

Arsenal are going for their 100th Premier league win at the Emirates and with recent events at Palace they should get it. Arron Ramsey started last season on fire and was a scorer in the Community shield at Wembley and can start this season in the same manner. He is 2/1 Betfred. Mickel Arteta has scored 3 times in 2 games against Palace and will be on penalties he is worth a small punt at 5/1 Coral. My final selection is on the cards market, and it is O 2 Crystal Palace cards. Todays referee gave 72 yellows in 23 games last season and with Palace chasing the ball there could be plenty of mis timed tackles to bring this up. It is at 2/1 Ladbrokes.

RAMSEY TO SCORE 2/1 WON :D
OVER 2 CRYSTAL PALACE CARDS 2/1 WON :D

William Bailie, William Bailies dad, Reidy, all the best tonight guys with Kell Brook, here’s hoping for you all. Kell Brook we know you read this all the time so believe! :) You know you are good enough and this is your time so beat Porter and then Khan will come begging for the one fight you truly want!!

    • thechief 10 years ago

Raal, I too think Brook as his work cut out tonight, would love to see him win, then fight Khan next summer. I will be SKY+ the fight and be watching it in the morning over my boiled eggs :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Quite a unique situation after Alexander lost to Porter Chief that Kell Brook gets the biggest fight of his life but would rather get Khan in the ring and destroy him. Very tough fight for Brook and I think it will end late, 10-12 rounds, but really cannot call the winner.

    • thechief 10 years ago

I’m on the 11/8 for the fight to go the distance, if it does then Brook would have to be punch perfect to get the decision, so Porter on points maybe the way to go but really want to see Brook win this, so happy with the 11/8

What worries me is rangers were all over hearts in the first half and rangers are p276sh poor

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Agreed Duncan but Neilson will correct anything that we lacked in that game and Hibs are just not, in my opinion, good enough to stop us.

    Hearts win

    Newcastle v man city

Both to score & over 2.5 goals

    Marseille v Montpellier

    Bet365

I would expect man.city to win tomorrow but can also see them conceding.
Packed out st James park. 1st game of the season anything could happen.

Don’t know much about the French teams but from there previous games bts looks a good bet .

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Shortee, I expect it to end in 1 but it is quite feasible that Gavern will try to dodge him so a very small bet on round 2 might pay off.

  34. cooldude 10 years ago

Raal is Amir Khan fighting tonight?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

No dudes but Kell Brook is desperate to get him into the ring to shut him up.

  35. cooldude 10 years ago

haha. Raal do you think it will ever happen?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Absolutely dudes as it would get a fantastic audience. If Kell Brook wins tonight though I see either a rematch with Porter or a fight with Devon Alexander next. Brook will be able to handpick his opponents and Khan may have to wait. Khan is trying to set up a fight with Alexander but he tends to be all talk, Alexander would beat him in my opinion.

  36. Duncan Poundcake 10 years ago

dude i seen the writing on the wall and covered Mr F’s treble inplay with the draw and Galway to win @ 6/1 luckily Galway @ 6/1 came in so ended up ok.

But the early longford goal then to go on and get beat was a hard swallow for the folk on Mr F’s treble me included originally.

    • cooldude 10 years ago

1plus2, I could be in that Galway team that is how poor they are. Longford just useless.

For the life of me raal i cannot see how Rangers cannot sign players like Sow it makes you sit back and wonder the whole set up at Rangers tbh.

The Transfer embargo aside at the start, the signing of players that would make a difference now makes you really wonder wtf is going on, even with all the kak going on behind the scenes at Ibrox still happening it beggars belief when transfers are made or not made.

  45. Chris Guy 10 years ago

Paul to be fair it was Stokes goal but I’m guessing Charlie Mulgrew must have a touch on it otherwise he would never have claimed it. Mulgrew was awarded the goal and it was
On various websites and live scores. As soon as the game finished I drive back to Clydebank Coral and you can imagine my disappointment when they told me it had changed to Stokes. I had £200 on him anytime at 11/2 so was pissed.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Chris, I can imagine your reaction. At least it was Stokes’s goal – and at the end of the day that probably cost bookies more. They of course don’t make the decision anyway.

Man U letting your tips down.

Mr F it’s so obvious Van Gaal needs to address the defence at Man u when he does that i reckon they will be back to winning ways like they used to be under Fergie.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

1plus2. we know it – why hasn’t he addressed it yet?

    • Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Confusing to me also. I suppose there are not many CB’s available. But when you see someone like Luiz going for 50 million in total and the fact Hummels is overrated (according to the Dortmund fans themselves) it’s difficult. Allegedly Benatia is in Manchester though…but as always, rumours.

    • JC14 10 years ago

MrF. – To know why he hasn’t done so to date, you have to understand LvG.

LvG when he takes reigns at a new club first of all will look at what’s in stock, the first team as he inherits it, and will introduce a system that suits his material. Second thing he will do is look at a clubs youth system and if there are any potential talents he can bring in. This is what he loves. He loves youngsters that eat out of his hands. He will cut the dead wood, offload players and let youngsters make their debut.
Third on his list is to make new signings.

Now at ManU we see a similar strategy. LvG has assessed his squad, understood 5-3-2 is the way to go for now (shit defense and no wingers), but I can’t imagine he doesn’t want to play 4-3-3. That’s the system he prefers because it has the best field occupation in terms of positioning. He is in the process of getting rid of players (or trying to) and bringing in youth players. His next step will be to look ahead and plan what he needs in terms of players to get back to 4-3-3.

With Di Maria he is looking for someone to play left winger and I also think he would love to play Januzaj as a right center half, the kid doesn’t have enough power to play winger in a 5-3-2. Only time can tell, and I think this process of returning into 4-3-3 depends on who he can sign now and what his options are in January.

Now as regards to the defense, I agree it’s shocking LvG hasn’t made a move yet. Bringing in Shaw is just a plain joke at that price tag (only cause he’s english). I wonder what the part was LvG played in that signing. It’s very clear ManU would need three new top defenders at least. LvG should have known this from last season. First order of business is Hummels, imo the best center back of the world. Dortmund doesn’t want to let him go and ManU should have made them an offer they can’t refuse, instead of spilling this sick money on a player who proved shit so far. Also keep in mind Hummels is in his last year of his contract. Or this is still going to happen, which is very possible after Swansea, or ManU will chase him in January (i hope…). On top of the previous, and I don’t have a clue if this plays a role (negative), but Hummels left Bayern in the summer LvG arrived. And to be honoust, I currently wouldn’t know any other real top center back ManU has to get, I love Varane but I doubt hell be able to lure him.

Another player ManU have been linked to pretty often is Coentrao. I actually like the guy a lot and he is the kind of wing back LvG likes, playing as far up front as possible. Maybe they give him a shot.

Currently Rojo and Blind are linked to ManU which shows they look to strengthen the team both on left and right wing back.

*** Now here’s another thing he actually almost always does: he changes the goalie at some point, and I don’t mean just for a penalty shoot out. At Ajax he changed Menzo and let van der Sar make his debut, at Barcelone he first brought in Hesp and after that this french guy came. At Bayern he refused to sign Neuer, and got stung in the butt for playing that amateur goalie (Rensing instead of Butt). First thing Bayern did after LvG left was chase Neuer. They bought him and now have the best goalkeeper in the world. At the dutch team in his last stint he replaced Stekelenburg after one mediocre match away at Belgium.

LvG is an absolute top coach with a lot of tactical understanding and since last summer also is turning into a kinda normal person. He used to be so damn stubborn, arrogant and rude that only for that reason people loved to see his team lose, but I have a feeling he has learned a lot from his Bayern exit and is turning things around in this department. He learned to understand big clubs like Manu or Bayern don’t need a coach that misbehaves in public, tells journalists they’re dumb and stupid etcetcetc. Now I can only judge this really when he loses another few matches (during last WC everything went for him) cause that’s when the pressure starts to mount and LvG in the past showed his black side.

      Only time will tell….

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

JC14, I accept what you’re saying but he didn’t need to assess the squad to know he needed big signings, especially in defence. Luckily he has a few weeks to go by that time the title could have gone if they play like they did against Swansea.

    • JC14 10 years ago

MrF. – I agree, but it just comes to show how he is: pigheaded. His philosophy is the only right one, and first assessing players himself is a big part of that.

Hello Mr. F, it’s been a while. I hope you’re all well. Season start is always shaky and unpredictable, I still expect Stoke to finish first half of the table.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Rustychest, I’m fine. Just going to watch MoTD and see if Stoke were unlucky. Heard they were denied a pen and goal should have been saved.

    Treble pays about 4.5/1

  71. gazza1 10 years ago

It’s early days but utd need more than just the defence sorted out.
the strength in depth of the squad is gone. In years gone bye they always had game changers On the bench but not now. LVG needs 3-4 big buys but the problem is a. Who and b. Will they come
it could be another long season ahead for utd
LVG is a top manager but faces his biggest challenge yet

  72. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

irrespective of what happened today we all know from our own respective sports and training in sometimes horrendous weather that the beauty of competitive sport we as punters are placing our faith on guys who possibly we would not recognise in the street if we passed them.

losing lines can happen anytime in competitive sport whether that be week 1 or any other week

I speak as I doubled the pars and Man u… high and lows would we swap them??????

Deontay Wilder has said he will fight Tyson Fury next year. Ridiculous decision in my opinion as Fury should not be on the ladder Wilder is climbing.

  101. Jack Fenn 10 years ago

Couldn’t resist one last check of the bookmakers.
I repeat myself now, and if you wish to avoid, I understand.
Chelsea to win the Premier League at 15/8 is more than good enough.
In previous seasons I have hoped we’d maybe compete for the title, but was happy with getting top 4. I will be a little surprised even if we don’t win it this season. Call it bias or arrogance, but judge me on it at the end of the season.
    Happy betting :)

    • PA 10 years ago

Jack, lets see how City do tomorrow and Chelsea do on Monday first. I agree Chelsea are the biggest threat (In my opinion) to challenge for the title. Mourhinho hates being beat, will be interesting

    • Jack 10 years ago

PA, I’m not saying it won’t be close run, and I’ve backed you in each of the last 3 seasons. I just feel sometimes you have players who don’t play for the cause. Despite the fact you have an absolutely ridiculous team.
But I appreciate the United comment!

    • Lossiejim 10 years ago

My bet of the week midweek is Brora Rangers to beat East Fife in Brora on Tuesday night, 11/4 available wi’ William Hill!!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Jim will take a look at that. All is not well with East Fife.

    • Lossiejim 10 years ago

Raal, Brora will piss the highland league again, a lot of ex Ross County and Caley players, played five games 23 for 0 against, won 8-0 away to Turriff United yesterday who were previously unbeaten. Among their players you may have heard of are Joe Malin(goalie),Grant Munro(ICT stalwart), Richie Hart(ICT, Ross Co. , Hibs, Dundee), Ross Tokely(ICT stalwart) and up front two goal machines Steven MacKay(ex Ross Co) and Zander Sutherland(ex ICT).
All in 8 ex Caley and 6 ex County players.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Just saw that result yesterday Jim. That is a very decent line up mate so I will have a wee bet on them just know. Thanks for pointing it out mate, appreciated.

Danny, that’s unlucky but bets like these should be permed. Your four must have paid 500-1 so even perming 4,5 and 6 at 10p unit stakes (total £2.20) would have given you £50.

  108. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Tampa Bay- over 2.5 mg 6/5

I know it’s early but been looking at Tuesdays games, Cheltenham to win at home to Carlisle is currently 6/4 – this seems ridiculous considering Cheltenham have won there two league games, including a 1-0 away win at league favourites Bury, whilst Carlisle have lost both there two games.

  119. thechief 10 years ago

    Morning guys, Liverpool v Southampton

Liverpool matches have seen O2.5 goals land in 13 of their last 14 games and whilst it is still opening weekend and Southampton are much changed this season, I can see another open game. O2.5 is a bit short for my liking at 4/7.

Both teams to score is more likely, Liverpool were so open last season and despite the Saints losing key players, we have already seen Swansea and Palace score away at so called “big teams” yesterday I will be on both teams to score 10/11 Ladbrokes. Liverpool were such fast starters last season and to score in both halves is 1/1 Ladbrokes.

In the goal scorer market, I will be on two skilful and quick wingers. Liverpool’s Raheem Sterling I expect to have a big season for both club and country. He is 15/8 Betfred.

For Southampton it will be small stakes as my main bet is both teams to score but at the odds I cant resist a punt on new signing Dusan Tadic. He could become my this season’s Antoine Griezmann. I put up Griezmann several times last season to land winning tips and Tadic, could be similar this season. He scored 16 goals in 33 games for Twente and at 6/1 Betfred looks a bet.

    BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE 10/11
LIVERPOOL TO SCORE BOTH HALVES 1/1
    STERLING TO SCORE 15/8
    TADIC TO SCORE 6/1

Good luck if your having a bet

  120. Elliott 10 years ago

one lucky sod won 7.5k from a 50p on an 11 fold with 7 homes games at good odds.. is this something that occurs because there is no form from teams?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

SefK, a 15,000-1 winner – doesn’t happen at any stage of the season unless you get lucky. Most people who land these lines are not serious punters and the guy probably spent 30 seconds picking his teams. But I’m still jealous.

Wow absolutely gutted have my reccomend actions don’t know if anyone else followed,

    Zardes – Galaxy – WINNER

De Vaio – Montreal – WINNER

Wondolowski – LOSER MISSED PENALTY :(

2/3 not bad Zardes was great odds to, bookies are still pricing him up wrong, full of confidence and the link up play with keane and Donovan is immense !

Well done Shaun again on your picks mate!! Good to see you agreed with a few

  139. hampy 10 years ago

    Couple of spots so far.
Odd grenland of norway dont half tally up the corners with their heavy attacking. Over 4.5fh corners has come in halfway before halftime in last 2 games ive watched. at 1.75 odds

Also Marseille look to be very capable of scoring this year and to score in the first half is a generous 1.72

Why am i not feeling the same confidence as raal and others on hearts today??? Think its goin to b tight scrappy game with both team playing with nerves mistakes could b key in this game
    Match bet
    HEARTS DNB small stakes

  144. Danny T 10 years ago

Phillipe Coutiniho anytime 9/4 is a great price he is in good form pre season and I think he will score today as will Sturridge . Today I think we will win 2-0 or 3-0 . I am not normally so confident but I think our fast paced attacks will be to much for Southampton today . Lovren had a great solid debut for us and I don’t expect us to concede today . Liverpool win to nil is 7/5. Good luck

  145. Bill 10 years ago

Yesterday was better than expected on the football considering the mad HT/FT bets which are still being fine tuned
    Single – Arbroath won
    BTTS – both doubles lost
    Over 2.5 – double lost
HT/FT WW – 3 of 5 won and Derby stake returned as bore draw
    HT/FT L/W – 1 winner of 5 at 27/1
HT/FT on D/W trixies both lost

Using 100 point system: 12 points bet & profit 4 points

Picked out Liverpool & Man C WW earlier in week and will stick to that today.

    Good luck for the day….

  146. Harpreet 10 years ago

    Good morning guys…

I had a dream that HEARTS won 2-0 with 1 of the goals being scored in the first 20mims and the second goal from the penalty spot lol

Will have a cheeky bet on correct score…..However I’m on HEARTS TO WIN simply because Raal is confident about this.

I also feel Liverpool will win however Man City I can see drawing at Newcastle so leaving that game alone.

My SUPER SINGLE today has to be LIVERPOOL TO WIN :-)

Good luck all…..COME ON HEARTS BRING ME HOME SOME CANDY

Well done team Brook, finally Porter can shut up.

Wilder was very disappointing, he couldn’t be bothered, still think he’s got too much for Fury, but I wouldn’t pay to watch them, Aldi car park best place for them to scrap.

Apologies if posted before, but check out Wilder and Charlie Zelenoff in google, hysterical. Internet cyber warrior getting his come uppance.

  152. Dr Greenthumb 10 years ago

He was shouting “I’m the best, I’m the best!” As he ran off. Can’t believe he was dumb enough to turn up at Wilder’s gym. He has mental health issues, claims he’s the best pound for pound fighter in the world and called out Mayweather etc.

  154. bradsbets 10 years ago

Got a bit of a question to ask

I put down a winning fivefold yesterday but the bookie accepted six teams and the sixth team lost it says on the ticket it will be classed as a fivefold which if it stands ive won £35 do you think they will pay or will they say it’s my fault for ticking six boxes and class it as a loser

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

bradsbets, not sure how you’ve done this. Have you actually picked 6 teams or just ticked sixfolds and put down five. Need more info before I can comment.

  155. Georgeh11 10 years ago

Raal, do you level stake all your bets from football to horses? Or slightly diff stakes?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

George, my bets will depend on how confident I am but I would always say that anything I tip or you bet from your own research has to be a level stake simply because it cannot cause any long term damage to your betting bank.

Come on the Jambos! I’m going to be flicking a little this afternoon between the channels as Liverpool ko at 1:30pm. Hopefully Hearts are 3-0 up at half time. I see Chris has put up Skrtel as a potential scorer and Chief has gone with Sterling. If I were betting on the game I would back Dejan Lovren to score anytime, I can see him haunting his old club. Sterling is a good shout as well. There will be a few goals in this game. No bets for me today I will stick with the ones I placed yesterday. Oh and I put up a fourfold yesterday that was sunk by Stoke!

    Raal

hope you avoided a severe haircut last night with the price on Deontay Wilder first round being so bad at 1/4

I had 2 small bets on round 2 & 3 but was surprised he got to the end of 4

not sure if its of any interest to you but big Joshua is 8/11 to be world champ by 2020

    and a whopping 4/1 by 1/1/2017

might be worth a small investment

    what do you reckon

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

dave, had no bet on it as prices were to short. During the day it was rescheduled to 10 rounds and money was coming for 3 and 4 which indicated a probable training session for him which it looks extremely like he had. Joshua is a very good bet for the 2020 one. All will depend when Klitschko retires but I reckon within 2 years he will be gone.

Morning gents, early season betting is always tough, another few weeks though and we’ll be in a much better position when using logic and form when making our selections! Going to focus on the Nordic games today but will throw my tuppence worth in for the Edinburgh derby!

    Hearts v Hibs KO 12.45pm

It’s all about Raal’s beloved Jambos today and I can’t disagree with that! Matching outcome a side I think it’s going to be a really fiery affair! One thing you can gaurentee from young players is over enthusiasm! Hearts had 7 players booked last week against rangers and with bragging rights at stake at a sellout tyncastle we should see the tackles flying in from both sides! Hearts on the break are impressive, the young jambos are quick going forward and that should ensure plenty of fouls! Despite everyone going for the hearts Win i do have a feeling Hibs will score and lose! They’re certainly not as strong as hearts but still have a couple of players who can make things happen!

    Back over 5.5 cards 11/10
    Both teams to score 4/5
    Hibs over 4.5 corners 11/10

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Great card shout Greg, it will get dirty! Their defence will see majority of the cards. Speak later mate.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Referee Willie Collum despises both sides so plenty cards is a cert Greg.

  174. raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers guys and love you all. Only bet what you can afford to lose at all times ;) No tips until later as off to mates for bacon rolls and mugs of coffee, that is how teetotal bores get the prematch buzz ;)

raal good luck today mate, if hearts are as impressive as celtic were yesterday they they should win.lol

  175. Alex 10 years ago

    Lovren to score anytime 17/2.

I will be heading to my local to have some of that. He is also 25-1 to score the first goal! He got the first v Dortmund the other day and the fact that he is playing his former club makes this an interesting bet for me.

  176. Chip 10 years ago

I’ve got a game today so I won’t be able to watch te Hearts game (maybe ten minutes or so) but I’ll be supporting them for the day anyway! Good luck to you and your team, Raal, and good luck to everyone else who has a bet on today. Also, well done to Shaun last night for his late night bets as usual! :)

  177. sanchez 10 years ago

hi, Mr F i luke tgw idea of your treble.
though on the goals i am unsure.about benfica. they had a terrible pre season, lost 4 or 5 first team players including both strikers. k would b cautious with that game..
staying in portugal i think rio ave and nacional are good bets playong at home against teams that will fight not to get relegated. rio ave have a solid defense and i can see them score a few goals while nacional is normally very hard to beat at home cos it is a smaller pitch than normal and weather conditionz…

  193. craigyboy 10 years ago

Done all my chores for the day so I can sit down to an afternoon of great football. Dilemma will be what do I watch?
AZ and Ajax kick off at 11.30. Likelihood is I’ll watch the first half then start watching the Hearts game at 12.45. Again I’ll watch the first half. 1.30 its off to Anfield and then finishing off at St James’s for the Newcastle and City game. I’m on an adventure bet today

    11.30
AZ v Alkmaar, Over 0.5 FHG
    12.45
Hearts v Hibs, Over 0.5 FHG
    13.30
    Liverpool v Southampton, Liverpool HT/FT
    16.00
Newcastle v Man City, Over 1.5 Man City team goals

This bets for fun for the day but its 5/1

    Main Bets:
Ajax over 1.5 team goals – evens
Hearts win – 6/5 (as tipped by Raal)
    Liverpool and over 2.5 goals – 10/11

Good Luck everybody and come on you Hearts boys :)

I had my first treble come up yesterday in ages at almost 4-1 Forrest Green Bournemouth and Cardiff was a good price, also had a lucky 7 team 2 pound bet come up that I almost wrote off until the morcombe fightback paid £181 made up for a poor season last so happy

  199. Ritchie 10 years ago

    Ajax game over, touched evens-Perfect!

  200. Tonys Tip's 10 years ago

OK guys after a whole night of studying, i think i may have come up with a potential shot.

    Hearts Win
Raaljaca has suggested this for a whole week now and i think everyone is on it to. Need i say more.

    Marseille Win

Like Mr F says Go south to France to complete the treble with Marseille and St Etienne. Marseille have won their last four meetings against a Montpellier side who finished way down in 15th last season. They will be slightly let down after a draw in the first game, and will be motivated to impress home fans today.

    Groningen Win
For reasons Mr F has already stated and their strong form at home.

Utrech vs Willem II (over 1.5 goals)

5 out of 5 last meetings have gone over 2.5 goals. However after a relatively impressive away form in the eerste divisie last year, im an afraid to not take the over 2.5 market , as this team return to the top league and may try to make an impression. Therefore if we see a 1-1 its ok. Although i imagine Utrecht to win, most probably 2-1 or 3-1.

    4 fold @ nearly 6/1 with ladbrokes

The reason i have left out St Ettiene is because its french league 1 and i do not see both Ettiene and Marseille winning. For example last year we saw st Ettiene lose at home against Talouse in the 3rd home game. So theres nothing to say a lower team cant beat or get a draw. But maby im wrong , and maby i should have picked them instead of Marseille but then again Marseille only lost their firsts 2 home games to big teams being PSG and Monaco. I just feel Marseille will want to show the fans a win today after last week.

Good luck people ! Hope this helps

small bet on hearts still think both two score is the safer bet today took mr f ss yesterday a hearts win money back from yesterday loss

  202. bigmick 10 years ago

tommy is that knocked down or knocked out mate?

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

bigmick, it is knocked down, which is what took me by surprise completely.

For Frampton to win by knockout, the price is 11/10, which is the favourite method of victory.

For Martinez to be knocked down is 4/5 – as this needs to happen for the favourite market to come good, it seems a generous price.

bigmick, what are you thinking mate?

    • bigmick 10 years ago

i,d be all over it tommy, carl frampton is very strong and a big hitter mate

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

bigmick, that’s exactly what I was thinking. I’ve seen Frampton blow people away in the past and having already stopped Martinez heavily, I think 4/5 is very generous for a knock down.

Although it’s Frampton’s shot at the world title that he’s been after for ages, I can’t see him freezing because he’s already comfortably beaten Martinez before.

It’s 4/5 at PaddyPower if anybody wants to get on, and if anybody can wait a couple of weeks for the profit to come. Can only see this price going down as the build up to the fight starts and everybody jumps on this market when they are reminded of how the first fight ended.

  203. Yugo 10 years ago

Gone for a BTTS and o2.5 treble in
    Hearts
    Liverpool
    Man City
    Lots of goals please :-)

  204. TommyTucker 10 years ago

After the good result in the boxing last night, I’ve had a look at the Frampton/Martinez fight for early September.

I’m by no means an expert in boxing (I follow it more as a fan surprised by what is happening rather than someone who is knowledgeable about the sport) but I watched the previous fight between these two and Frampton dominated the fight.

PaddyPower are offering 4/5 on Martinez to be knocked down. Does that seem a great value bet or am I missing something here?

Any help on this would be appreciated and for boxing fans I thought I’d post a decent price early doors that people might be able to get on.

    Thanks

Over 1.5 goals odds of 1.83

  206. raaljacas phone 10 years ago

Reason we are drifting slightly is Dale Carrick picked up an injury and is out. We have sacrificed a forward for an extra midfielder to protect our rookie keeper. We can still beat them by playing the ball on the deck. Good luck one and all.

    • PeteT 10 years ago

Good luck for Jam Tarts today Raaljaca – enjoy the game mate.

    • mexicomarti 10 years ago

?……but Hibs’ best defender by far is out only to be replaced by Nelson who is truly awful and was indeed told2 days ago to leave the club as he did not fit in with any plans Stubbs plans or ways of playing football.
Surely that gives Hearts a much bigger advantage.

  207. Harpreet 10 years ago

I’m going to try and spot you on TV raal….lol come on HEARTS

  208. Will Hill 10 years ago

Osman Sow to score anytime and Hearts to win 7/2 with Skybet and Paddypower.
I also think over 2.5 goals 11/10 with Skybet is good thing.

  209. Greg Browning 10 years ago

    Brann v Rosénborg KO 5pm

Defensively Rosénborg have been a shambles this season! It’s only been their ability to find the bet that keeps then near the top end of the league! The face a Brann side who they have shared 43 goals with in the last 9 encounters! Given how frail Rosénborg are at the back we should see some goals here with both teams scoring! Over 2.5 goals should come in easily but is a bit short at 19/40

Back Rosénborg over 1.5 team goals 4/5
    Rosénborg 13/10 ( small stake )

Anyone got any insight into Bordeaux v Monaco ???? Might ava decend punt on monaco….

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

craney 8 ball, looked tough to call for me – if I had to bet I’d take the draw.

  224. Paul C 10 years ago

why is it when a game is ‘fast and frenetic’ what they really mean is they can’t pass or shoot?
Entertaining for the tackles and missed penalties though.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Paul C, it’s not great but maybe settle down after the break. Never a penalty though so justice done when he missed it. Game’s just been described by a summariser on the radio as “a bunch of guys running around like the Keystone Cops”.

  225. Hank 10 years ago

Shortee, should they?….Hibs have missed a penalty and its been one of the most scrappy games youll ever watch.

  226. Shortee 10 years ago

hearts should be 2 or 3-0 up

  227. Monsieur Maurice 10 years ago

    French afternoon double @ 2.53:

MARSEILLE over 1.5 team goals @ 1.71: Marseille has had a terrific preparation for the new season and scores easily. Their draw with Bastia last week was a small accident, since they played a great game with very offensive football. Over 1.5 seems possible against a weak Montpellier defense. Over 2.5 match goals might be a good option as well, but I’m not sure whether Montpellier will be able to net at least one at the Velodrome.

SAINT-ETIENNE win @ 1.48: Saint-Etienne is very strong at home and should be able to beat a Reims-side with a couple of absent players due to injury.

    • craney 8 ball 10 years ago

Any thoughts on monaco game Monsieur ????

    • Monsieur Maurice 10 years ago

All in all, Monaco played a decent game at home against Lorient last week with a couple of decent opportunities. They lost with 10 (red card Carvalho) in the 87e. Bordeaux won in Montpellier but were not convincing either.

Given that Falcao will be in the team from the beginning, their strong H2H against Bordeaux (they haven’t lost in Bordeaux for a couple of years now)and the fact that Bordeaux is missing a couple of players due to injury, I think Monaco might just edge it.

Just for a bit of fun, I’m doing a Falcao any time wincast @ 4.20… but that shouldn’t be considered as a sensible tip of course.

LIVERPOOL TEAM Liverpool team: Mignolet, Manquillo, Johnson, Skrtel, Lovren, Gerrard, Lucas, Henderson, Coutinho, Sterling, Sturridge
Liverpool subs: Jones, Toure, Sakho, Allen, Ibe, Can, Lambert

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

daz, looking at that I’m on Liverpool quite confidently and need to try Sturridge to score first. Chris Guy I know is on Skrtel and of course Lovern has also been tipped at big prices.

  229. Ritchie 10 years ago

Liverpool game over. Sturridge to score.

  230. raaljacas phone 10 years ago

Cannot see Hibs scoring but we need to improve this half. Similar to Ibrox with us being poor in the first half but we improved in the second. Willie Collum could ruin any game with his need to get attention.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, Collum’s being slated on the radio for his overall display – 90 per cent reckon it wasn’t a penalty but 10 per cent say it was so he may be proved right with that one.

  231. Bob H 10 years ago

Liverpool -1 and Man City dbl …what could possibly go wrong there

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Bob H, I’m quite happy to do a Liverpool/Man City double but that’s it.

  232. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Decent 1st half for my Edinburgh derby bets! If Liam Craig hadn’t been a complete trumpet and missed the penalty BTTS would be likely!

  233. Jman 10 years ago

Was on large stakes last week on Hearts win and double chance, this week just small stakes.

Simple reason is the vast core of the Rangers team have been playing part time players for 2 seasons, this is the first season they’ve had any sort of challenge at all. Hibs at least are used to playing better sides and have improved a bit under Stubbs. Hearts should still do this though.

  234. Ritchie 10 years ago

    Cards and corners :)

    Back over 5.5 cards 11/10 WIN :)
Both teams to score 4/5 – ask Liam Craig
    Hibs over 4.5 corners 11/10 :)

    • jauds 10 years ago

      Greg,

We’ll done on your cards and corners picks. Apart from your Rosenborg tips what else catches your eye?

As I write this Hibs just score so well done on over 2.5 goals also

Greg, 3 out of 3 for you now.

Go on those beautiful jam tarts! Haven’t seen the game but looks pretty safe now, wanted to echo Danny t comments regarding raal, big thanks to you mate your advise and tips, have seen me make 400 pound at level stakes since mid July. Went a touch bigger on hearts due to your confidence and I have also combined them in a double with the reds who hopefully hold on. Raal your a legend and a thoroughly top bloke and enjoy your teams victory today, thank you

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Nice on Craig k lets just hope it all gets topped off with a red win now 45 mins to go

    • Craig K 10 years ago

Danny t, yeah I think we will see this out, starting to annoy me that the pundits keep mentioning no Suarez, still playing excellent football and I think we will get a second and kill this! What do you make of the apparent falcao interest??

  286. Stormin 10 years ago

Someone said they had a strange hearts 2-0 and a penalty earlier on in this thread I’m site I read. Cant be bothered to scroll up but thanks for the hearts tip and whoever tipped cards was on both

Thanks Mr R on the Hearts tip. Tonights Chicken Chow Mein now upgraded to a House Special!

  293. craigyboy 10 years ago

Nice One Raal! Top man! Absolutely gutted you couldn’t bet on cards in play with 365. After 25mins a red card was a banker!

Not doing too badly today. Has to be said! Little bit gutted we couldn’t have had a Hearts goal first half to resume my all day acca. Oh well never mind!

    ***lost***

    Main Bets:
Ajax over 1.5 team goals – evens (won)
Hearts win – 6/5 (as tipped by Raal) (won) Cheers Raal :)
    Liverpool and over 2.5 goals – 10/11

Good Luck everybody and come on you Hearts boys :)

Backed Liverpool goal before 40 and have rebacked them to score before 80. Hopefully they’ll have two by then. I fancy Toure to net for Man City after as well!

  294. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

I think Liverpool should count themselves lucky to be ahead at the break. Southampton were the more threatening and had 2 or 3 good chances. Tadic had a really good half and skinned Manquillo on several occasions. Manquillo has already been booked for his troubles and need’s to watch himself in the 2nd.

  295. raaljacas phone 10 years ago

Raal, phenomenal tipping mate! To back something for over a week and not lose your confidence in it despite the drift in price is top class! I will always gladly place bets which you put up with such great confidence, be it football or boxing. Also hats off to Greg, for all the 3 winning bets, was only on a Hearts win, but good to see that there are two top notch tipsters on this site that can always be relied on! :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Rowen, thank you mate. I pointed out last night our keeper problems and that was the only reason for the odds drifting but also said nobody should worry about it. I backed Hearts again today with cash bets and got much better odds than my bets during the week as these odds grew. Bookies go by strength of money whereas we go with my knowledge of the Mighty Jambo’s :)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, keeper looked fine – I see he’s cup-tied for midweek which is a pity for him. Right, off to walk the dug and maybe buy some jam tarts with my winnings.

  313. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Unfortuneatly that Southampton goal was always coming. Liverpool weak at the back, we Johnson playing left back and Manquillo looking nothing more than a championship player at right back. We are trying offload Agger who’s better than Skrtel, the shining light has been Lovren through the middle. Oh and we let Reina go who is miles ahead of Mignolet in goal. With no Suarez we can’t have this attitude of we will score more than you.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Give manquillio time he is young in a new league . I told you he would play Johnson left back and had Moreno international clearance come through on time Johnson wouldn’t have been playing at all

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Have we really got time for an unknown right back, how many games are we going to give him… 20? Against a good team he would of looked a lot worse. I can’t bare this dribble about giving players time- it’s an excuse. It just shows the decision to play Johnson out of position was wrong as Manquillo has looked vulnerable all game, play your best players in their best positions.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

It didn’t say the decision was right I just know who he wants as his full backs and it’s flanno and manquillio at right back Moreno and Enrique at left back . Johnson wages are to high

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

That’s why we won’t win the title this season because we have no quality in the back line bar Lovren now. We are a top 4 side who can’t attract any world class player’s (or can’t afford them) The only way we will finish in the top 4 is if Man Utd have a season like last, which looks possible now. We look no better on paper than last season, we actually look worse, which is worrying.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

We have Henderson time that proved right . Trust Rodgers he’s doing a good job . Think back to the Roy hodgson days and you would be happier with what we have now

Daz over 1k on boxing? I’m guessing not £10 stakes lol

  315. alasu57 10 years ago

I dont think Southampton are going to be the poor team that everyone was thinking. They are playing not bad, or is it because they’re playing Liverpool? Defence is a shambles at most of Southamptons attacks !!!!!!

  316. raaljaca 10 years ago

Delighted for everyone who won by backing us all week. 2 massive wins, financially for us and points wise for Hearts, have made it a great start to the season. Really pleased to see the number of you who are sticking to level stakes and showing good profits where it seems you were not before, makes all this worthwhile. Going to work my way through all the emails but really appreciate all them. Looking nailed on for the preseason EVEN money without Rangers and I still maintain we can win this league so the 4/1 each way is looking very very safe.

    • Alex 10 years ago

Raal-if anything you have taught me the joy of higher stakes but by applying that to the right type of games ;)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Alex, I will bet extra whenever I really think I have it right and I know all week we spoke about the amounts so really glad it came in for you mate but any other time it is level stakes!!!! ;)

    • Alex 10 years ago

Raal-these higher stakes are causing trouble mate; firstly BET365 contact me out the blue to say random security check your card is not registered to the right addrees (nonsense!) and yesterday when I placed my bets a text from my bank “£*** at BET365 in UK, £** at William Hill in Gibraltar. Reply Y if all the above transaction(s) was undertaken by you…” Profit banked and level stakes until next time ;)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, glad I shared your faith in Hearts. I said at the start it would be Rangers/Hearts 1-2. I stand by that although it wouldn’t surprise me if it was the other way round.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

As long as we sort out our discipline we can win it Mr F. Liam Craig was sent off in the tunnel after the game for them as well I heard.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

raaljaca, there was a scuffle at the end so not surprised. Waiting on Liverpool/Man City for a double and treble still on course so could be a decent day. Right, need to go – hopefully Liverpool will hold on.

  317. Jack 10 years ago

    Raal-great result for hearts

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

CC, made hard work of it but I said we had the ability to hurt them and it finally happened. We will only improve throughout the season and right now our club is buzzing from top to bottom in the belief we are building something special at Tynecastle.

  321. TommyTucker 10 years ago

Raal, great stuff on Hearts today.

As you tip on boxing a fair bit on here, I was wondering your thoughts on what seems like a generous 4/5 on Martinez to get knocked down (not knocked out) against Carl Frampton in early September.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Tommy, great bet but Big Mick is the Frampton expert and he will call it right without a doubt I reckon.

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

He already said to me that it looks a great bet too.

I just fancied another opinion (didn’t know he was a regular contributor on boxing as I haven’t followed boxing conversation on here very much) so I’ll definitely be getting on that one then.

bigmick…if you’re reading this…I apologise and won’t need to ask anybody else in the future!

    • Shaun tanner 10 years ago

Oh but they are William mate. It’s all about the fine detail- ask Mourinho or Pellegrini because one of them will be lifting the title in May. :)

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Titles are won by picking up 3 points even when you don’t play at your best . Winning ugly is the key 3 points we know have and we move on to city next week .

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

William, hope you and your dad enjoyed your Kell Brook night last night. Brilliant win for you mate and really happy for you.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Harry mate. Hope all is well in the Peoples Republic ;)

  327. Danny T 10 years ago

Raal now the dust has settled on both the games . Brilliant from hearts to win an edgy derby like that superb and thanks for the tip as I have been adding money from other winning tips you have given me through the week on to hearts and bang it comes in. Followed my the mighty reds winning ugly which is exactly what was required if you have ambitions to be champions so buzzing and thanks again mate :-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Danny mate. Result is all that matters but we were poor in that first half but Hibs are absolutely hopeless. As long as Stubbs and McCoist do not get sacked we are laughing. Nothing in betting is certain but at above evens there will not be many better bets all season than we were today.

  328. Jordan 10 years ago

Afternoon Guys Newcastle v Man City

I was waiting for the teams to be announced as if City were going to be as weak as last Sunday I thought Newcastle could nick it, but it is a strong looking City line up. The one thing I haven’t changed my mind about is I can see both teams scoring. It is hard to read Newcastle as they have made lots of new signings and I think they will have a decent season. St James will be rocking and I can see Newcastle breaching a defence which is getting back use to playing with each other after the world cup. (Note Newcastle have failed to score in their previous 4 games with City) Both teams to score is 8/11 Stan James.

For the scorers it doesn’t really matter who gets them for the bet, but I will have a punt one a player from each team. For city I will be on Eden Dzeko who scored in this fixture last season, he is 6/4 Betvictor. For Newcastle they will be without Cisse, but have brought a few attacking players in mainly French, and I am on Remy Cabella, he has scored a couple in preseason and looks a good acquisition, he is 4/1 Skybet.

    BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE 8/11
    DZEKO TO SCORE 6/4
    CABELLA TO SCORE 4/1

Good luck if your having a bet

  333. William bailie 10 years ago

That’s a grim assessment of liverpools chances shaun :( I’ll keep dreaming for a while longer tho if that’s ok with you! First day of the seasons a bit early to be throwing in the towel ;)

  334. daz 10 years ago

Man City: Hart, Clichy, Demichelis, Kompany, Kolarov, Fernando, Toure, Nasri, Jovetic, Silva, Dzeko. Subs: Zabaleta, Milner, Caballero, Jesus Navas, Aguero, Fernandinho, Boyata

  335. daz 10 years ago

Newcastle: Krul, Janmaat, Williamson, Coloccini, Dummett, Colback, Anita, Sissoko, Cabella, Gouffran, Riviere. Subs: Aarons, Perez, Haidara, Elliot, Obertan, Steven Taylor, Abeid.

  336. TommyTucker 10 years ago

    13/8 William Hill

Greg Rutherford to win the Long Jump…

This is happening now, get on it quick if you fancy it.

He’s just put a big jump out there to put himself in the lead and those odds are massive in relation to his chances of winning. Should be odds on after that jump but he’s still available at 13/8.

  337. Alex 10 years ago

STURM GRAZ v AUSTRIA VIENNA BTTS @4/5

May wait a little while and try to take it at evens.

  338. craigyboy 10 years ago

After a fine day with an amazing tip from Raal and some very good punts from myself (for the first time this season) I’ll be treating myself to a couple of bets in the City game.

    Y Toure anytime goalscorer
    2/1 Stan James

Man City over 1.5 team goals
    4/7 Bet 365

BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE 10/11 WON
LIVERPOOL TO SCORE BOTH HALVES 1/1 WON
    STERLING TO SCORE 15/8 WON
    TADIC TO SCORE 6/1 LOST

    :D

Over my morning eggs watched the Brook fight and 11/8 fight to go the distance was a lovely start to the day. Then Hearts 6/5 came in big thanks for Raal who was super confident about the Jambos and Mr F franked that confidence making them is Super Single.

Enjoyed being an honorary Jambo raal :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Pleasure having you Chief and top tipping on the fight. Good few honorary Jambos now I reckon! :)

  345. Capone31 10 years ago

Lol Shaun, you do know Moreno, Lallana, Can, Markovic and maybe one more quality striker has to come in!! Calm yourself son

  346. Shaun tanner 10 years ago

William- sorry mate, believe it or not I do support the super reds! I can be very critical in general (you’ve possibly noticed!) but just want to see us progress to the next level. Don’t get me wrong Rodgers has done an excellent job so far but we want to keep carrying the momentum. Players have been added yes but do they actually make the starting 11 stronger or I they just there to make the squad stronger? Bar Lovren who I said previous I can’t see anyone we’ve signed that’s going to make the actual team stronger but there’s still time I suppose. :)

I always like to dream about the title mate ;)

  347. Alex 10 years ago

    Double

    Man City & St Etienne @ 1.38

Mr F I like the look of St Etienne, St. Etienne are unbeaten in 12 Ligue 1 home games, winning nine of these contests and Reims have lost six Ligue 1 away matches in a row. Newcastle tend to struggle against Man City. GL

  348. Dellus 10 years ago

Thanks Raal, great day for me, backed and rebacked a few times, Cheers Mr.Jambo!!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

    16.00 OLYMPIQUE MARSEILLE VS. MONTPELLIER
    Marseille to win

Really good pre-season for home team and unlucky draw last week, Montpellier in completely opposite form and I believe they will struggle this season (besides I hate 4-3-2-1 formation that they use ;) )

    17.00 GENT VS. ZULTE-WAREGEM
    Gent to win

Was watching last Gent away win against St.Liege and considering poor europe qualification and current form from ZULTE-WAREGEM players I can see home team winning again today.

    DOUBLE 5/4

  353. Greg Browning 10 years ago

Hampy, Rowan, Alex, Robroy, inter, swanny, Iain, Shaun, Jauds, cheers gents! Was a very profitable match for all! :)

Another huge confidant selection from uncle Raal! Tremendous! Stories of bookies running out of money warms my heart, haha!

Liam Craig left St Johnstone to move to Hibs to progress his career! In that time since he left St Johnstone have win the scottish cup, played 8 European ties, while Hibs were relegated and have lost another derby . . . . . How’s that move working out for you son hahahahahaha ;)

  354. Danny T 10 years ago

Even money in the city game for half with most goals looks interesting . Steve the pirate used to throw up those bets during the World Cup . I may place a small wager on that with the odds from my hearts profit as I have saved all my bigger winnings that I got from hearts. So a spare change bet on
Newcastle v Manchester City most goals second half 1/1
Rivière to score anytime at 5/2

Sit back and relax over what’s been a great day

  355. Jordan 10 years ago

Jovetic InsureBet FIRST @ 3/1 on WillHill. If player doesn’t score first but scores in the game, stake is returned. Had a good pre season, chancing him to get on the sheet. Be him or Dzecko.

Can back both outright Anytime @ 13/10.

  356. raaljaca 10 years ago

A young guy at the Hearts match was apparently caught giving a right hand salute that was caught on camera. Some newspapers have already named and condemned the boy. I know him and R is a decent enough lad who was just taunting the Hibs support in the heat of the moment. He is not right wing nor are his family but as usual the media are happy to possibly ruin his life over a silly moment of overreaction. Every week the Old Firm fly flags of Israel and Palestine between them but rarely does it get a mention.

Raal, try being a Millwall fan. We always get tarred with the same brush! All of us! There is never trouble outside or in the ground… What happeneds at the main train stations I don’t know but as soon as a tiny thing happeneds we get a double page spread in the paper and heavy fines!! We are a club with big heart and a bad name for things that happened years ago! It’s a shame that things get blown so much out of proportion! Isn’t it!?

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Tadders, it is just unfortunate that one off things can get blown out of all proportion. Millwall are always associated with the Luton game and even though every club has hard core boys they are a small minority of overall support.

    Posted early on TUESDAYS thread-

Looking a bit ahead- Sturridge to score anytime 11/10 seems a massive price at 365 compared to anywhere else, at home v a much changed Southampton team. Has been in good form pre-season and is the main man up front now.

    Rooney 11/10 at betbright or 10/11 elsewhere…

    Sturridge/Rooney anytime DOUBLE 3/1

Lovren to score v his old club- 15/2 at 365 again. If he plays he will a threat from set pieces.

I’ve took them all, I’m a pool fan and it’s the first game of the season I know but couldn’t resist a go on them.

    11/10 WINNER!!!
    10/11 WINNER!!!
    3/1 DOUBLE WINNER!!!

Noticed on 365 Sturridge was 5/6 to score anytime last night so obviously got on a good deal with the 11/10.

    *** WON *** :-) :-) :-)

    • A BLACK 10 years ago

      Well spotted Tommy

Saw your in-play suggestion of value in Rutherford and jumped onto it.

      Many thanks

    • TommyTucker 10 years ago

A Black, glad you jumped on mate. Always get a buzz out of my tips coming good on here. The value in that particular selection was superb. I think William Hill were just very slow to take it down as an in-play. After the 4th round of jumps, the market had gone, so maybe I just lucked out and spotted it.

Decided from now on, if I am not confident enough in the result to put my picks up on this forum, then I’m not going to follow them at all. I’m 6 out of 6 in what I’ve put up here over the last 2 weeks and the ones I put on on my own without mentioning them to anybody, I’m about 3 from 9…says it all really.

don’t normaly cover my bets cause if I back them I fancy them but have a £20 7 fold running
    arsenal 3/10,b city 4/7,burton 4/6,f green 4/7,liverpool 2/5, mighty jambos ev,chelsea 2/5 pays £419
would any of you guys cover or let it run?

    • Jack 10 years ago

I’m very confident of a Chelsea win. But stick 30 quid or something on Burnley double chance and that way you still have 370 pounds profit. Or worst case scenario if Chelsea don’t win, you’ve still made 40 :)
Up to you at the end of the day. This just doesn’t dent your big bet, but guarantee’s profit :)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      Spot on Jack mate.

    • geesaclue 10 years ago

I would cover without a doubt mate to guarantee you even more profit.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

geesaclue, you have to consider covering it but you might feel you have thrown money away if Chelsea win. My Super Single in tomorrow’s Record is Chelsea -1 so I fancy them strongly against a Burnley side without Vokes and who have added just Matt Taylor and Steven Reid to their squad.

Defo cover against Chelsea mate. Iv been a Chelsea fan all my life. We beat the big teams home and away. But when it comes to the smaller clubs away we sometimes draw or even lose :/ so defo cover , especiallly if guarenteed profit ! But i recon chelsea should win, with a costa goal !

Im stuck here with marseille letting down my 4 fold. Like an idiot i didnt cover montpellier double chance, because apperantly marseille have won their last 4 encounters , thats why i was a bit over confident , but these stats dont always mean everything !

Throughout the years Bryan brothers have been absolute monsters in mens doubles but they are not getting any younger. Pospisil/sock won me more than enough money during this tournament and I really believe that they can win at least 1 set even though most people expect 2:0 from the brothers.

  388. Alan 10 years ago

First of all, congrats to Raal and his team today. I suspect the bookies took a bit of a caning today.

Secondly, I did a fivefold MR+BTTS over yesterday, today and tomorrow: Bournemouth, Bristol City, Ajax, Hearts and Chelsea. I did them in trebles and fourfolds, so am waiting on Chelsea for four trebles and a fourfold. Total payout should Chelsea oblige will be £130+ for a £4.80 stake.

It’s a bit difficult to cover at the moment, anyone any ideas? It will be easier inplay I suppose. I’d settle for £100. So I’ve about £30 to play with. Any suggestions?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Alan, bookies will just be handing back some of what they won yesterday. Piece in the Racing Post today saying one-third of all accumulators William Hill took yesterday had Man Utd in them and it would have been more if it hadn’t been an early kick-off.

    • Alex 10 years ago

Mr F they took £25 off that accumulator but I’m sure we have all made it back with Hearts :)

  389. mexicomarti 10 years ago

Ha ha…good win for the Jambos today albeit very lucky i must say. The game was absolutey AWFUL, dire it was and was petering out to a boring dreary 0-0 until Nicholsons goal out of nowhere.
Stubbs clearly has to learn and anyone, whether Hibs, Hearts, no matter who you support could see changes were needed as in the 2nd half the game was clearly there to be won, and that Robertson as well as not touching the thingthat is round that you’re supposed to pass and kick but was a bombscare after his first booking and should have been hooked much much earlier….and who gave the penalty away and got sent off?…yep him.

Hearts are riding their luck somewhat and after only 2 games played i see some are getting a tad over excitable as if it’s Real Madrid or something, it’s hilarious, bordering on hysterical. After a steady performance agains an awful The Rangers side who did miss 2 absolute sitters and they plucked a win today out of nothing as the whole game was a borefest. to say anyone really deserved to win and say this team or the other are garbage is clearly being seen through tinted glasses. If either team plays like that in some other games they will def lose games, that is for sure. A league is not decided after 2 games and depth of squad will play a part.

A good win all round for everyone who won though, especially the BTTS and O 2.5 :-) Now waiting on Marsaille who are getting stuffed at home to spoil my sunday…lol, :-(

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Not getting over excitable mexicomarti just happy at the ability to win money in the Scottish Championship by identifying worthwhile bets. Over excitable would have been a term used for those who hammered into Man Utd yesterday as it was a losing bet, Hearts wasn’t. Long way to go for Hearts but 6 points from 2 games is a 100% start.

    • mexicomarti 10 years ago

Well i for one never went near Man Utd yesterday so i certainly was not one of those you talk about :-)

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

mexicomarti, I agree that after 2 games it’s too early to say Hearts will win title. However, you accept Hibs and Rangers are “awful” so who will win it then?

    • mexicomarti 10 years ago

ayes, at the moment i have saw The Rangers play 3 games and have been awful in all of them, yet still managed to beat Hibs (albeit strongly helped by the sending off whilst they were being given the run around) they got beat from Hearts (whilst missing 2 absolute sitters) and they beat Falkirk, despite again being awful!!
Hibs, on the other hand, well, see above about the The Rangers game, played very very well against Livvy and the best for years allegedly, especially the first half, where a mix of bad luck, good keeping and bad missing kept the score down to a respectable figure. Then today which was awful by BOTH teams until 1 piece of magic lightened it up.
I feel Hearts have done well for sure to get the points in the bag and i’m not taking that away from them at all, but for me far from convincing winners, certainly not on the performances i have saw so far to keep getting that rub of the green and the lack of real depth will show as suspensions and injuries come in….so not convinced it will last.
To be making such bold predictions already that Hearts will win it is absurd after 2 games.

The winners will certainly come from The Rangers, Hearts and an outside chance of Hibs depending on what other additions they make as they seemingly are still looking and talking to options. I don’t think any other teams will, over the course of a long season make a sustained effort so it’s got to come from the 3 mentioned.

All i am saying is that some should calm down calm down in the aftermath of a derby win as it can get a bit silly and carried away. :-)
If The Rangers can play so bad though yet still win i think over the season they will probably win it and win it fairly easy as they can only get better. If they win when playing badly then it’s a bit ominous?

This will leave Hearts, Hibs and A.N.Others for the play-offs where anything can happen there.

Just my take on it after a whopping 2 games played. :-)

I’ve spotted a match in Iceland that offers potential value:

Vikingur Rejkjavik vs IBV, kick-off 7pm

Vikingur have won 5 of their last 6 home games this season and are 4th in the table.
IBV have only won 1 of their last 8 away games this season, losing their last 2, and are 11th in the table.

You can get Vikingur Rejkjavik, the home side with a good home record, at EVENS (BetVictor)

The head-to-head record tells a muddled tale though as IBV have a very good record against Vikingur (although Vikingur won the last fixture between these two).

How much emphasis do people put on head-to-heads when tallying up whether or not there is value in a team, as everything other than that points towards a home win and evens looks a good price.

This isn’t a tip, just a question that could help my learning from more experienced people on here.

    Thanks

    Brann v Rosénborg KO 5pm

Defensively Rosénborg have been a shambles this season! It’s only been their ability to find the bet that keeps then near the top end of the league! The face a Brann side who they have shared 43 goals with in the last 9 encounters! Given how frail Rosénborg are at the back we should see some goals here with both teams scoring! Over 2.5 goals should come in easily but is a bit short at 19/40

Back Rosénborg over 1.5 team goals 4/5 lost
    Rosénborg 13/10 ( small stake ) lost

Had 5 bets on in this game and posted the two that lost, in hindsight when you read the write up I talk about How poor Rosénborg are defensively, that 2.5 is likely and both teams will score! I should have grown a set and posted them all, haha!

How are the Bankies copying with the loss of their players to the senior ranks Mr F?

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Greg, we should be fine – had a few missing yesterday, conceded a dodgy pen and had to play in a gale so that explains the draw. New players have looked good and when we have everyone back the first X1 should be strong. The striker we lost, Ross McPherson, was the Sunday Mail’s MoM against Annan yesterday and Vinnie (Viniesta) Berry also started with McElroy coming off the bench. And of course the boy McPherson replaced (MacKinnon) at Clydebank is now scoring in the Premiership. So if you want to make it big the Bankies is the place to go.

Cannot believe it, just put serena williams to win the next game (7th game) to love at 4/1. I confirmed the bet , and then they changed it to the 8th game . Thank god serena won that game and set which returned my stake, because if she lost that game, ladbrokes would have potentially lost me a large amount if she didnt break ivanovic to love. I think that is ridiculous how you can confirm a bet and then it is changed to something you never agreed to. Infact im annoyed because serena did win that game to love and because of ladbrokes delay i missed out on a big win and just got my stake back !!

  449. Kyleh 10 years ago

Well done Raal with your tip on hearts. Had a good amount on them because you were so confident. Just out of curiosity, have you ever done a 10 pound to 100 hundred challenge or something like that. Win your strike rate I think you could land a few.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Kyle I have not really bothered with that mate as it would not be a level stake series, build it up and 1 loss gives it all back. Glad you got on the Hearts as well.

  450. Danny T 10 years ago

Raal is at it again 1-1 on Peru .

  451. Danny T 10 years ago

Raal brilliant again mate. I got both Peru games at evens and if we take the hearts game out if the equation. It just proves level stakes work best as now with that goal going in it’s break even and on we go to next bet it’s simple but effective mate thank you very much once again :-)

  452. Mattr 10 years ago

Thanks for the Peruvian btts Raal. Have decided from today to only go level stakes on the daily goals alert tips and Mr F’s SS when I fancy it. Good start.

  453. Simon Witherspoon 10 years ago

Get on wolfsburg to win!!! 20 shots no goal! I’m on this for the last 20mins :-)

  454. One team in Ulster 10 years ago

great stuff Raal with the Peru btts, thanks mate

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Ulster, Matt, Danny, thanks guys. Trust me on level stakes it will never leave you in a losing position overall if you study and go for quality over quantity.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

I tell you something raal. I watched both the Peru games and the first one was played on what can only be described as a beach it was a shocking pitch which led to a very poor game the second one by contrast had a lush pitch and the standard of football was greatly improved the goal that brought up the btts was a great strike as well :-)

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Danny, great league for certain sides scoring and conceding mate. Melgar was a bit of a shock as they normally net every match but as you say San Simons pitch is not constructive for good football.

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Bearded Geordie raal posted it before the hearts game on page two of this thread he said Peru game for this evening mate. He can’t half pick them like :-)

    • BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

Danny, not been able to get on here that much today had the old dear down from Newcastle to see the new baby so could only pop on when she was trying to stop him crying haha

    • Danny T 10 years ago

Haha. Arr new baby congrats mate. I thought you boys played with a lot of heart today I think a top ten finish is on the cards for you guys. Some very impressive new signings

    • BeardedGeordie 10 years ago

yea i was very impressed today, i would of settled for 1-0 defeat to a team like city, inda feel hard done by to lose 2-0, i was really impressed by Colback, was outstanding considering he was up against Toure in the center of the park haha

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Mitchy, I just said the Peru matches early evening, 2 of them, looked good for btts. One lost but one came in. The game at 12.15 tonight is decent too.

  464. PeteT 10 years ago

Raaljaca – just to add my congratulations for Heart’s win (2 from 2 – may it continue!) and your tip which you’ve been promoting for the last 7 days. Your knowledge of the team news, the goalkeeping changes etc gave me the confidence to put a decent bet on at 7/5 which is a great return. I have to say your young goalkeeper did a great job and I think you’ve got a team which is going back up straight away in a much better state than you were last year.

Thanks as always for this, and the other great tips from the weekend.

    PeteT

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Pete mate. In all honesty our goalkeeping position was the one that really wasn’t a worry. The fact we dropped an attcker to give extra midfield cover was a bit annoying as I reckoned we should have gone all out to beat them from early on but no complaints as Robbie Neilson and Craig Levein have been excellent so far and I really see Neilson becoming a top rate manager.

  465. William bailie 10 years ago

Ya gotta love Monaco lol so glad I listened to the common sense in my head for once and gave them a wide berth .. Worst team around at the minute !!

  467. Jaseos 10 years ago

Have been back on the site over the weekend for the start of season antics, following the duo of Sir Raal and Lord Greg… unreal standard of tipping!!

Was on the earlier Peru tip Raal which would have capped a nice afternoon but it wasn’t to be. From the congrats,I see you must have tipped the other game too though that did come in, I am on my phone, is it possible that I am not getting all of the messages, or have I just not been looking hard enough?? Thanks in advance and you don’t need me to tell you how much your work is appreciated.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

Cheers Jaseos. I only mentioned the 2 matches mate as I was leaving for the usual 3 point jamboree at Tynecastle :) The early morning game looks good as Juan Aurich are hot favs but they play open attacking football and normally get 3-1, 4-2 scores etc so worth a small bet at the 10/11.

    • Jaseos 10 years ago

Raal, sounds good to me. I have just placed 10 of my GBPs on it… It’s always good to wake up to an increased balance!

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

      Completely agree Jaseos :)

Never heard of Brora but if Raal has taken your tip it’s got to be worth a shot

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Mxc, Brora are best team in the Highland League which is basically one step on the leader beneath League Two so standard isn’t bad and must have a chance.

    • raaljaca 10 years ago

MxC they are in the Highland League which arguably is as good if not a better standard than the Scottish Second Division which East Fife play in. It looks a very decent shout from Jim.

    • Jordan 10 years ago

Some midweek trip up to the Highlands for East Fife, Raal?

Brora have been tipped on another site he reckons the east fife coach leaves at 11 on the Tuesday morning 400 mile round trip.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

John, assuming they can get the day off work I wouldn’t worry too much about East Fife’s journey – they’re used to going up to the Highlands. Brora have made a great start so I can see why they’re being backed.

  481. cooldude 10 years ago

Mr f, considering how poor Man Utd defended yesterday, it seems Van Gaal may have got rid of Rio Ferdinand a season to early. Apart for failing to mark up for the goal he was solid throughout

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

cooldude, I think he needs to be looking at players better than Ferdinand and I believe he likes to look long term too.

  483. John Regan 10 years ago

Agree mr f manager has said the players will probably loose two days pay due to the journey up to brora.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

John, there will be team news in Tuesday’s Record so it’s worth looking out for. I assume most players will have an arrangement for a certain number of days off but we’ll know by then or check East Fife website.

  484. Capone31 10 years ago

Lmao Cooldude, Rio couldn’t defend to save his life, how he is allowed on a pitch baffles me, he was the cause of the goal against QPR

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Capone, I said apart from the goal he played well and the match ratings back that up depending on what paper you read

I know Cooldude but why sell Vidic was more to the point, you not think?

    • cooldude 10 years ago

Capone agreed. But Vidic was also on a decline and as Mr f said Van Gaal wants new blood.

    • 1plus2 10 years ago

No team can maintain there dominance forever Man Utd had a brilliant run and will bounce back but as i say no team can maintain 100% dominance in a league as competitive as the EPL.

The problem is fans expect instant success based on previous teams in there era but that cannot always be delivered all the time simples.

    • Mr Fixit 10 years ago

Capone31, Utd didn’t sell Vidic. He chose not to renew his contract and signed for Inter.

    FRANCE WOMEN U20 V SOUTH KOREA WOMEN U20 00.00

    BTTS @ 1.73
    France/BTTS @ 2.66
    FHG o1.5 @ 2.00

FTMG o3.5 is @ 2.25, therefore best waiting for in-play.
France (-1) if or when it comes into play

The following matches have all been played this month.

    KOREA REPUBLIC U20:
    1-1 England U20
    1-2 Nigeria U20
    2-1 Mexico U20

    FRANCE:
5-1 Costa Rica. This was the game that won a few of us a great return for the BTTS crazy odds.
    4-0 New Zealand
    3-0 Paraguay

All matches have been played in Canada who is the host nation. Both teams have scored in all 3 previous matches. Making the BBTS option the safer bet of the two. France are firm favourites and deservedly so, therefore I am happy to place the two bets

    Juan Aurich (-1) @ 2.00

The away team, INTI GAS DEPORTES, lost its last two games, 3-0 away and most recently 2-4 at home, during which it had 2 players sent off, both banned for this match, also this game comes on the back of two consecutive losses.

    Juan Aurich W5 D0 L1 GF 18 GA 8
    INTI GAS W2 D1 L2 GF 6 GA 9

I have reservations about INTI GAS scoring, only due to the 2 players suspended for this match.
