MY only bet on Thursday was a bit of a long shot and in the end was well out.
I was spot on with Espanyol but Alaves conceded a late winner at Valencia and Aberdeen v St Johnstone looked more like a 0-0 than a both to score affair until the Dons won it in injury time.
Minutes after scoring they were paired with Morton in the semi-finals which means they have a great chance of making it to the Final. The second semi is of course Rangers v Celtic so another great game to look forward to after the action-packed Premiership clash.
Jordan was star of the show on Thursday with his Swiss tips coming up but Greg's Danish game lacked goals. My Bet of the Day for members only did win though with Espanyol and Alaves scoring.
As is always the case I'm concentrating on my Saturday Daily Record columns at this time of the week. I don't have much time to research Friday games but there are four big favourites in the major leagues who should win.
Hopefully I don't see any team news in the morning that puts me off but I'm putting up two lines – one as the Super Single and a handicap one as well.
I'm taking a chance on a 5.5pts Super Single that would wipe out the losses. In the back of my mind I fear one side might let me down but I'm willing to take a chance – if you don't like it leave it out.
First up it's Dortmund at home to Freiburg and the home side have won this five in a row scoring 20 goals. They've just recorded back-to-back 6-0 successes and a 5-1 midweek win at Wolfsburg and face a side that's conceded six in three.
PSG, with Edinson Cavani in brilliant form, have won on five of their last six visits to Toulouse scoring 14 times. They've won their last two 6-0 and 3-0.
In Portugal leaders Sporting, with a 100 per cent home record, should beat Estoril and Porto, who have won their two home outings, are also short against Boavista.

Think i’ve found some value in the Dortmund game, like Mr Fixit says they have been on fire scoring 17 goals and conceding just 1 their last 3 games! The bookies have them to score over 2.5 at 4/6 but have their again handicap at -2 priced at just over 2.000. It does look as though they can easily score 3 or more and obviously the bookies agree but its hard to see Freiburg scoring any more than 1.

Cheers, everyone knows I don’t chase losses. Regulars will also know in the past I’ve put 10pts on a Super Single when I’ve felt confident and needed to recoup losses.
Finally, I’ve explained before Super Single is just a tag – so it can be a double and upwards. It would be better to call it “Best Bet” but people search for Super Single so I’ve been told to leave it.

Looking ahead to tomorrow and although I’m backing The Mighty Shakers, I certainly don’t bet as a partisan fan – we’ve looked strong up top and Chesterfield oughtn’t hold too many fears for a side Flitcroft has working hard…I hear Tutte may be back after a 5 minute cameo in the last and the guy is quality if he starts.
Chesterfield did turn over Northampton in their last game but noises from Gigg and Carrington sound really promising about the team spirit and squad that Flitcroft has put together.
We look for a 5th straight win and have lost none in 6 with 15 goals scored in that time…not bad for a team that started with such low expectations from all including myself.
