I'M sure there are some gems out there today but after a good look I've focused on sides quite near to home.

I'm hoping it's St Patrick's Day by backing the League of Ireland side at Bray. The start of the season has been all about Sligo's perfect record and the likes of Shamrock and St Pat's are already struggling to keep up after just six games.

St Pat's are two fixtures behind so will close the gap on the leaders to six points with two wins. The first should come against a Bray side who have won just one of their first five and conceded nine goals.

Bray aren't as poor as rock bottom UCD who head for Cork with just one oint to their name and having conceded 18 goals. Cork have lost just one of their first five but three draws leaves them well down the table and they need the points here.

To complete the treble I looked at Volendam and Almere but settled for French Ligue 2 leaders Monaco at home to Niort.

Monaco have drawn three in a row after five successive wins so it won't be as easy as the table suggests but they should edge to victory

In England the only game is Port Vale v Burton in League Two and if forced to bet I'd take a draw with both teams scoring.

There is also a Blue Square Conference game which has the feel of a Newport win at Cambridge but after being let down earlier in the week by Braintree and Mansfield I'm leaving it out.

Last night I put up Inverness at home to St Johnstone in the SPL as my Super Single

The last three meetings have been draws but I can see Inverness edging this against a side who clinched their top-six place with a point against Dundee United on Monday.

Inverness can go joint second with Motherwell by winning and consider Ross Draper to score at 11-2 with Paddy Power. He hit the opener against Hibs last weekend and now has five for the season.

Terry Butcher's men are a join industry best 11-8 with Titanbet.

There are top-flight games in Germany, Spain, France and Portugal but nothing much stands out. Those who like to back sides with new managers might want to look at Hoffenheim at home to fellow relegation strugglers Fortuna Dusseldorf.

Markus Gidsol has replaced Marco Kruz but the jury is out on the former Under-23 coach. It looks a tight game and Hoff are 21-20 at Titanbet.

There has been a total of one goal in Marseille's last three game so the shout could be under 2.5 for their home clash against Bordeaux. Under 2.5 pays 9-20 at Titanbet.

Instead of doing a both teams to score line I'm doing a mixture of yes and no. Take yes at Lokeren v Bruges, a Belgian League play-off match, and in the Dutch second tier between Emmen and Volendam. And go for no at Marseille.

I can’t find any gems so i’ll be keeping an eye on the site throughout the day for any tips from the lads….my local side Finn Harps are in action tonight and should win well

John, Greg, that’s the best I can do in the time I have. Got to focus on the weekend football now.

So having trawled through tonight’s euro matches, there’s not really a lot that take my fancy

Found 3 matches that I like the look of:

    Metz v Colmar!

Metz currently sit in second and will be promoted this season, their home form is terrific! They have won 14 of their last 18 home home games but more recently have won their last 4 to nill!

Colmar sit in 11th, 17 points behind the hosts and have lost 6 of their last 8!

    Recommendation:

    Metz 8/13
    Metz -1

Feyenoord are at home to lowly VVV, and the price for the home team reflects this but you’ll get Feyenoord on the handicap

    Recommendation:

    Feyenoord -1 8/13
    Feyenoord over 2.5 goals 4/5

Last up Port vale v Burton Albion

Not a fan of English Friday night games but this one looks good! Tom pope had been scoring for fun this season (29 so far) more than his previous 5 seasons combined so would fancy hime for 1st goal scorer!

Best bet for me is Burton Albion over 1.5 goals! They sit just 4 points behind a team who have a habbit of conceding 2 goals in their home games! 11 of their last 22 home games has seen them conceed twice, more interestingly most of these where against top half teams:

Been doing well in the over 1.5 team goals market recently so hoping Burton can continue that!

    Burton over 1.5 goals 7/4

    Treble:
    Metz
    Almere
    Feyenoord -1

    Good luck everyone

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Greg, looks a decent treble, good luck with that.

mr fixit what do you think of piere gignac to score 1st for marsielle?7/2 thinking of going with that and BMckay 9/2 inverness.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Jimmy, I’m not even inspired by Marseille to score after one goal in their last four league games and three in last six overall.

    • jimmy 11 years ago

Thanks m8 appreciate all the tips on here!!

Young Lions v Woodlands Wellington in the Singapore league about to start any minute.

Young Lions played 6 scored none and conceded 16

BTTS – No is 2.2 with Titanbet!

Got to be worth a few quid! :)

  5. Clippy 11 years ago

Aaaaaand they score their first goal of the season in 9 minutes……

    Fecking typical……

  6. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Clippy, just heard they read your comment out in the Young lions dressing room, haha! 1-0 up mate :(

  7. NBAgambler 11 years ago

Clippy, they’ve just scored their first goal of the season!!! Very unlucky shout as Woodlands will no doubt score aswell.

  8. Clippy 11 years ago

Pretty much why I hate BTTS – No as it can be all over too quickly. Just thought that game looked promising.

Fingers crossed they’ve learned how to defend too! ;)

  9. MrT 11 years ago

Feyenoord seems one of the only bankers but v short odds.

Was considering -1 and over 2.5 as suggested here but also half team lead at 1.6 and win to nil at 2.2.

    Any thoughts on best option?

  10. Greg Browning 11 years ago

Not a great fan of win to nil mainly because the team could win 5-1 but your bet is down!

Ht/ft could be a shout, always feel goals is a bit safer + would expect them to win by a couple so the handicap looks appealing too!

    HOME AND AWAY DOUBLE
    ————————————-
Port Vale host Burton Albion at the Burslem.
Mickey Adams’ side sit second in League Two ahead of this clash, and will be keen to cement an automatic promotion place, with the end of the season in sight.

Vale corrected a blip in home form with a 3-2 victory against high-flying Cheltenham Town last week, and that makes three unbeaten for the hosts – who have notched at least two goals a game in that time.

With a three points gap on third placed Cheltenham, and a game in hand, the home side will be keen to take maximum points in this encounter in order to relieve some of the pressure being applied by the chasing pack.

Visitors Burton have enjoyed an impressive season, and line up for this clash sitting fifth in the table.

But the Brewers have not won in three games now, and boss Gary Rowett will be keen to correct that slump before it grows into something bigger.

Chesterfield put paid to the away sides incredible home form last week, which had seen them pick up nine straight wins in front of their own fans, and that has been the biggest contributor to their positive league position.

Just two wins from their last 12 on the road suggests that the Brewers may struggle in this clash, and they will be hoping to nullify the recent momentum of their hosts.

    Bet 1: Port Vale (HOME) @ 2.16

Over to Belgium now for our final selection – as Club Brugge travel to Lokeren, looking to pick up their first win of the play-off stage of the season.

Juan Carlos Garrido’s side have lost just one of their last seven on the road, and will be desperate to secure three points here in order to get their campaign back on track.

A 2-0 home loss to Standard Liege last time out leaves the Blauw-Zwart sitting bottom of the play-offs I mini league, and they will need to get maximum return from this clash if they are to keep their hopes of European qualification alive.

Three wins from their last four suggests that the Jan Breydelstadion side are more than capable of securing that result here, and a 2-1 defeat of Zulte-Waregem in their last one on the road indicates that Bruges will be full of confidence.

Hosts Lokeren sit fifth in the play-off positions following a draw in their opening game of this round, and that makes six stalemates from the last seven for Peter Maes’ side.

That suggests that the Tricolores have lacked the cutting edge to grab the full three points of late, and just one win from seven on their own patch will have their fans crying out for a change in fortunes.

The last three games at the Daknamstadion have ended 1-1 – and just one clean sheet in seven outings on their own patch indicates that the home side have some weaknesses at the back.

    Bet 2: Club Brugge (AWAY) @ 2.68

    —————————————————–

    LAY OF THE DAY
    ———————–

Volendam are odds-on for their trip to Emmen this evening, the home side can continue their good form and pick up a positive result.
Emmen have climbed to 13th place in the Dutch Jupiler league thanks to a run of five wins and a draw from their last seven matches. The only defeat they suffered came away at De Graafschap and they were plying their trade in the Eredevisie last season.
At their home of the Univé Stadion, Joop Gall’s side began their campaign quite poorly with four draws and three defeats. A superb comeback against Fortuna Sittard from 0-2 down in February proved the catalyst for a run of three straight victories though and while they were held by Telstar last time out, a draw would do for us tonight.
Volendam are fighting for promotion to the top flight as they sit in second, just three points behind the leaders Helmond Sport, but with two games in hand. It’s been quite the turnaround for a club who finished in 12th last year and one of the reasons has been that they have been scoring so many goals.
Hans de Koning’s men have notched 59 times from 25 matches with Michiel Kramer and Jack Tuyp sharing 44 of them. They are a deadly duo and the Emmen defence will have their hands full come kick off.
Away from Kras Stadion, The Other Orange aren’t bombproof though. While they are undefeated in six on the road, three of those were draws and their win percentage throughout the year has been 50% – six wins, three draws and three defeats.
Emmen have turned the corner in the past couple of months and with home advantage tonight, I think they can take something from the game. That’s why, with Volendam trading around the 1.875/6 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.

    Recommended Bet
    Lay Volendam v Emmen @ 1.87

    DENMARK.

Just one game from the Danish Superliga where I have to invest in a team I don’t like.

The way Esbjerg play their football are not at all to my liking but they haven’t lost in 2013 and conceded only one goal and against a Aarhus side in trouble I can’t see why they should be underdogs. AGF Aarhus are 0-1-4 in 2013 and without six important players tonight against a team who beat them 2-1 a month ago.

    I’m on borring Esbjerg +0.5

AGF Aarhus – Esbjerg (5.30 UK)

I had winners coming out my ears last night thanks to a fantastic night on the darts, the only disappointment of the night was an injury to Bale, which could cost us a top finish, anyhow with a busy day of betting tomorrow and just having a couple of selections.A super single and a BTTS from our old friends in the Dutch Jupiter.

    STAKING PLAN DEMONSTRATION.

If following ten games were differentiated I would need any seven out of ten for a 14% profit on my 200 units at stake. Six would give me a 2% loss and eight a 30% profit.

    Monaco – Niort (7.00 UK)
    Monaco

All Boys – Independiente (1.30 Saturday morning)
    Over 1.5 goals

    CSKA Moscow – Novgorod (11.00)
    CSKA Moscow -1.5

    Frankfurt – Bayern Munich (2.30)
    Bayern Munich

    Vitesse – Breda (5.45)
    Vitesse -1

    Barcelona – Mallorca (9.00)
    Both Teams To Score

    St. Etienne – Evian (1.00)
    St. Etienne -0.75

    Ajax – Heracles (5.30)
    Ajax -1.5

    FC Copenhagen – Odense (6.00)
    Over 2.5 goals

    Olhanense – Benfica (8.15)
    Olhanense +2

But I’m doing my betting another way – a way where I need only any five out of ten to create a profit on my 200 units.

My first bet are Monaco (thank you, Mr. Fixit) and the next bet (All Boys) will be posted at the end of the Monaco game.

  21. The UHT 11 years ago

Paddy Power seems to be the only high street bookie doing Jupiler tonight.

I’m trebling Cambuur home win – phenomenal home record x Almere home win (playing Einhoven – pitiful away) x Volendam away win (form side of league). It pays at just under 4.5.

Volendam = BTTS + Go Ahead Eagles + Dordrecht would be my BTTS treble.

    Prefer the W-D-W treble, though…

I must admit the lay of Volendam advised has taken me by surprise – and I do see that as the trickiest call, but I’m hoping Volendam have enough promotion desire to get one more than Emmen, who will definotely score at least one!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

The UHT, the Volendam advice I saw also surprised but have left alone because of that. Verdict from Holland seems to be that Emmen are improving.

  26. The UHT 11 years ago

Also think there’s a little cracker currently playing in France – Dijon – Chateauroux.

Don’t know what it is in-play – score is 0-0 currently (25 mins in) but Dijon are 4th best home side in a league of 20 and Chateauroux are 19th of 20 away.

Kick-off odds were 1.85 for the home, but I’m biding my time to get the hang of this league – I’m certain there’s money to be made in it!

And every gameweek it’s always on offer.

  27. Dean 11 years ago

Like Gregg, I’ve gone with Metz on the -1AH at a very decent price of 2.6. Metz have won 4 and drawn 1 of their last five games, and their last four home games have seen them beat the handicap without conceding a goal. While Colmar have the 5th best away record in the National league, they sit second from bottom in the recent away table with 4 losses and one draw in their last five away games. They have only been beaten once on the handicap, however, even if they don’t lose by more than two, I will get my stake refunded.

    Cheers, Striker!

I’m mystefied by Emmen/Volendam failing on BTTS – you’re unlucky. I guess recent results are showing that the Jupiler is no longer the cash-cow it was for the early/mid part of the season on BTTS – only 4 from 7 achieved it tonight, which is pretty standard for all leagues, and the three likely picks that I would go for, which, until recently, would be nailed-on – which I note The Chief (who, like yourself, definitely gets a lot more right than wrong!) also went for – came up 1-2, 0-0 and 1-0, I think. There are a lot fewer goals flying in, but sides are playing to form…

I think the market for this league may now be W-D-W. Recently, much more predictable – and better odds.

I’m pleased to get the treble in Holland, but my eye was on the French game I was half-tipping – and that may be back to the drawing-board. The fourth-best home side scrapes a late draw with the 19th-best away side…

I’m not encouraged to invest my money in France!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

I like the look of Bayern Munich at 0.75 Asian handicap at 7/10. Hopefully they win by 2 goals if not, just the win will give me a little lower back.

I will probably be on over 2.5 goals in Reading/Southampton but i will wait for in-play and first giraffe what sort of mood the Saints are in front of their old manager.

Later on Vitesse also look good.

As for the National, I know feck’ll about nags, so will read up on a few sites and if there is a common theme i may take a punt, but horse racing gets me a bit nervous, I’ve lost a lot on whimsical bets in that sport.

Actually it is best to leave Bayern Munich for in-play and line-up news, as Bayern got an away match with Juventus coming up in the week, and they only need a draw with Frankfurt to win the league. Also it looks like Eintrech Frankfurt got a good home record.

Strikers the man for holding fire n waiting for the in play!! ;-)…yeah, maybe worth watching Bayern 2moro…league just aboot won n Juve oot as well…gettin to funny farm time of the season..maybe look for a wee bit value is the way?

  50. Guido 11 years ago

      Guido, borrowed one from Milesey.

    • On Behalf Of Milesey 11 years ago

Bit harsh saying things about someone who isn’t here to defend himself, and also Baggio as well slagging off the tips, they come from a betfair source, we all work for betfair, what you p*ssed about, that you weren’t on the double ? Jonno doesn’t hit every double, he is lucky to get 2 up a week, you will lose more then you gain if you follow them, it’s knowing when to get on and when to leave them where you make you profit.

    • Guido 11 years ago

“on behalf of Milesey” ffs..Mileseys either got some kinda Svengali type influence or huge ego that requires massaging, a multitude of sudinems or a harem of hangers on that pander to his Cleopatra-esq demands? Which is it I wonder?? Milesey has on numerous occassions had my gratitude so “Baggio” didnt slag off any tips, merely mentioned where they were posted from..if “Phil” ?? has a problem with that thats his f£cking problem? Interestingly “Phil” refers to Jonno as “working for us”..Betfair taking over this site as well as Blue Sq?? Ya can fool all of the people some of the time and some of the people all of the time..but ya cant fool all of the people all of the time!!

    • On Behalf Of Milesey 11 years ago

Does it matter where they come from ? you take tips from MRFIXIT, do you work for him then ? so you are actually copying from him, but you are not associated with him in the slightest or are you ? so where tips come from are regardless to be honest, and if you want to follow JONNO then good on you, and good for the betfair community, but as i say he hits 2 doubles at the most a week, he works for betfair, his job is to get the punter to put their money on…. it’s a simple fact, all people who post on the betfair community are paid by betfair to do so, you think a home and away double where the away team is 5.6 on the exchange is going to come in ? it’s there so a punter puts the money on, they work are not employees of betfair as such, but get paid by betfair. You need to know what to follow and what to totally dismiss when using the betfair tips, betfair may not be a bookie, well they actually are, but they also don’t go about losing money, so tonight was a winning double, i’ll guarantee you tomorrow won’t be.

    • Guido 11 years ago

Put it this way..I’ve had on occassion taken penicillin but take no credit in its discover and am happy to credit Mr Fleming for that. Betfair and pals shood employ that sham whos be recently been voted in to head 1000m folk!!..biggest con of the lot if ya wanna make money invent a religion..think of followers/£s! Nothing in life is ever what it seems..those that are not entirely reliant on following the sheep know that and make their own decisions!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Guido, not really sure what you’re getting at.

Another thing BLUE SQUARE were operating with big losses in the last 6 months, and only have a customer base off 120,000. The biggest thing will be the loss of sponsorship from the blue square north / south that will no longer be there, so therefore they will need to seek a sponsorship deal from elsewhere, but it’s not a big takeover to be honest, they were failing anyway, and don’t have a big customer base, and their sponsorship deals won’t be taken by betfair, for it’s small fish to a big company who sponsor the big events.

On Behalf of Milesey, tell the man to enjoy his day at Aintree and hopefully he’s picked out the winner. Good night.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Guido, funny that. Still getting comments from people thinking I now work for Rangers. After this week’s revelations it’s just as well I don’t. Had one guy saying he’d never buy the Daily Record again after being a loyal reader for 60 years. Can’t wait for April 1, 2014.

    • Guido 11 years ago

Milesey, er I mean On behalf of Milesey..I havent any involvement with Mr F…Fixit works his own woods/laybys ;-)

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Guido, people have two choices. Read posts and comments or don’t read them. At least you’re getting the choice.

    • Guido 11 years ago

Yes, correct Paul, dont think I’ve disagreed with that, i read n post…obviously stating a simple fact has irked Phil

Any standout football tips for tomorrow from betfair? ”on behalf of milesey”…cheers.

MK Dons 2.0 v Crawley Town 4.30, the draw 3.50

MK Dons boss Karl Robinson described his team as ‘knackered’ following their two wins over the Easter period. The Dons are best known for their free-flowing football and passing teams to death, however (and in the words of midfielder Stephen Gleeson), they were terrible yet won twice over the extended weekend.

The Buckinghamshire side are three wins from four and are still in with an unlikely shot at making the play-offs. The squad has suffered with injuries and suspensions, but they are alive in their bid, and are scoring goals (14 in their last eight games). The return of Gleeson from injury has also been a big plus.

Crawley might have blown their chances of a Wembley opportunity following their Monday defeat at Shrewsbury, but they do look a good team when on song. Manager Richie Barker likes his side to play football and keep the ball. Town did both of those over Easter, but do struggle to break teams down.

The midfield battle will be most intriguing here, as the visitors have a very influential passer in the shape of Matt Sparrow who can control a match by pulling the strings, whether he can do that here will be another question.

The Dons are not playing at their best but they are on a roll, they need to be aggressive and with an early goal might set up an overs bet.

      Recommended bets:
      Back over 2.5 goals @ 2.20
Back MK Dons to win @ 2.0

    NORTH/SOUTH IRISH DOUBLE
    Another team i like the look of tomorrow is SLIGO ROVERS from the league of Ireland {neighbours south of the mythical border}They are on fire at the moment,won last 9 games {all 6 since new season started} so sit top of the table max points scoring 15 conceding 2 from 6 games,they are at home to shelbourne who in laymans terms are ”a steaming ball of sh*t” havent won in 10 games and have 1 point from 5 games since lg started and have scored only once.SLIGO beat them 3-0 and 3-1 last season.Ive done SLIGO to win -1 at 3/4 skybet,ill double that with CLIFTONVILLE{N.I Cup semi} 21/20 Skybet{reasons given in mrfixits super single comps}

  59. Guido 11 years ago

Sean, might be worth a £1ew 2mowo ( not endorsed by the great n the good or that :-) ) Auroras Encore..ridiculous price on bet – fair 130/1…wiz 2nd in Scottish National this time last year likes the ground at this time of year..?…

  60. Sean Ireland 11 years ago

Noticed that, but its the arguments that make this site popular, bleedin boring without it,sometimes like to wind mrf up a little bit just for the fun like saying he called a losing tip he put up a BANKER,always gets a reaction from him ;)…i was one of the few that was at the 11th nite bonfires and st paddys day parades over here back in the day,now you get bot traditions at everything which is good to see,you still get the vibes about things like matches against the hoops { which my dad follows and the gers which my cousins on my mums side follow but its all good,i myself was always a man u fan, which was a safer option :)

  61. Sean Ireland 11 years ago

Ill give that a look in the morn cheers guido ;)

  62. Guido 11 years ago

hahaha :-) I know. Good to stir it up a bit. I cood say a few things after reading tonites stuff..makes me laff a wee bit/you have to read it n have a think a wee bit (not hellish much)about whats actually happened with “posts”/boot could well fit a few individuals feet here…..to help “influence”..er..? .well, lets just say “marketing” has far reaching tentacles??….im not daft Sean, hope im wrong…??

  63. Guido 11 years ago

On behalf of Milesey, thanks for the insight. So, I completely understand, (working in a marketing type environment to attact investors to Scotland myself I get the concept)you mentioned that “Jonno” (and others) are basically employed by bet – fair to “suggest” to punters a winner which u say will sometimes win but will “defo not win 2moro” and are therefore not to be trusted? bet – fair mentioned 8 times in the post tho …nice one :-)
