THE DFS Park Hill Stakes, a Group 2 for fillies and mares over the St Leger trip, is one of Doncaster’s precious gems and PILASTER (3.00) looks poised to sparkle.
Roger Varian’s three-year-old pipped Saturday’s St Leger outsider Maid Up in the Qatar Lillie Langtry Stakes at Goodwood and that’s a very solid piece of form. That was Pilaster’s first appearance on turf following two all-weather triumphs at Kempton and Chelmsford City, and she is a very exciting prospect.
PEACH TREE (2.25) and Fleeting represent Aidan O’Brien, with the former expected to confirm recent form over her stablemate. They filled the places behind Just Wonderful at the Curragh, with Peach Tree momentarily looking hard to catch when booted a couple of lengths clear over two out. She had previously made all to land a Curragh maiden and aggressive tactics look sure to be employed in the William Hill May Hill Stakes.
MYSTIC FLIGHT (5.10) filled the minor berth behind Urban Aspect and Crack On Crack On in a typically hot York handicap last month, doing some sterling work at the finish. Mystic Flight caught the eye earlier in the summer at Haydock when dishing out a thrashing to subsequent dual winner Glenglade in a novice stakes and looks progressive. He’s one to keep onside in the Dfs Handicap.
- Doncaster 3.00 – Pilaster (7-4, Coral)
