ANDY MURRAY reached round three of the US Open on Friday night but only after the Scot took his fans on a rollercoaster ride at Flushing Meadows.

The British No.1 trailed world No.41 Robin Haase 2-0 and many of his followers must have been fearing he was heading for a shock exit.

Me? No danger. I always believed my tip to win his first Grand Slam this month in New York was always going to win (honest)!

Murray eventually prevailed 6-7(5) 2-6 6-2 6-0 6-4 and is certain to have taken great heart from his fightback.

Next up late on Sunday night is Spain's world No.26 Feliciano Lopez – a player still seeking his first win over the Scot after five career defeats.

So the stats are in Murray's favour and despite not being at his best against Haase he will make it six wins against Lopez.

The 24-year-old Scot is 1-7 with Stan James while Lopez is 6-1 at sportingbet and bet365.

For the record Murray has lost just one set in his head to head with the Spaniard so a repeat of his 3-0 first-round win over Somdev Devvarman is likely.

I'm big enough to admit I tipped him to send Hasse packing 3-0 too and he would have delivered had he won that tight first set.

Murray will hit back in style and beat Lopez 3-0, a result on offer at a tasty 10-11 with Stan James.

The march to Grand Slam glory goes on. Let's go Andy!

Recommendation

Murray 3, Lopez 0

(10-11, Stan James)
