NOV 29: BOTH TEAMS TO SCORE

ALL season the Championship and Blue Square Premier have been good for this market so let's hope that's the case on Tuesday.

I'm starting my line with Burnley v Ipswich – a match that really promises goals galore.

Burnley ended a barren spell by battling back from 2-0 down to win at Hull at the weekend and both sides have scored in their previous six.

Ipswich's last three games have been 3-2 defeats with a 4-1 loss at Millwall preceding that. They simply can't keep clean sheets but are decent at the other end with four wins.

Next it's the Championship clash between Reading and Peterborough. I make no apologies for once again including the Posh because they rarely let us down.

Darren Ferguson's side have been involved in three 3-2s in their last six and both have scored in all of those matches. Reading haven't been prolific at home with 10 goals in nine games but will be lifted by Saturday's 3-2 win at Ipswich.

Next I'm looking at one of the Carling Cup quarter-finals – Cardiff v Blackburn.

There is the potential for a shock here even if Rovers aren't as bad as results suggest. They have netted in five of their last six – missing out against Chelsea – and including 3-3 draws at Wigan and away to Norwich.

Cardiff have kept clean sheets in three of their last five which is unlike them but the improvement at the back has lifted them to third in the Championship.

It will be an emotional night in the city where Gary Speed took charge of Wales for the last time but hopefully the game will live up to the memory of the player and there will be plenty of goals.

I'm finishing with three games from the Blue Square Premier and first up it's Hayes v Newport. Hayes' last six games have featured 32 goals so you can see where their problems lie with 21 conceded in that spell.

Newport beat their opponents 4-0 earlier in the season and although they have drawn blanks in four of their last six they were against tough opponents Luton, Shrewsbury, Ebbsfleet and Wrexham.

In the other two they have hit six against Grimsby and Braintree and I fancy them to net at last one at Hayes.

And talking of our old friends Braintree I can't resist them at Tamworth. One of the surprises of the weekend was Braintree's 0-0 draw at home to Wrexham after 12 overs in a row. Before that their five matches had totalled 30 goals so maybe they did a Craig Levein and went
4-6-0 in a bid to plug the gaps.

Can't see it happening twice in succession though and it was 3-1 to Braintree when the sides met in September.

I was tempted to stop the line there and you're welcome to take the fivefold but it only pays about 9-1 so I'm adding Barrow v Alfreton.

Barrow's 10 home games have featured 30 goals (20-10) but they haven't won in four and face an Alfreton side who are sit second bottm but are showing signs of improvement with just two defeats in six.
