Slipstips Bet Builder Tips

After delivering winning selections on each of his two featured columns over the weekend, SlipsTips examines the Bet Builder market ahead of Celtic’s clash with RB Leipzig in the Champions League on Tuesday night.

Celtic vs RB Leipzig (Tuesday, 20:00)

Celtic will resume their Champions League campaign when they lock horns with RB Leipzig in Glasgow on Tuesday night.

The Bhoys brilliantly dismantled Slovan Bratislava 5-1 on matchday one, but they were then brought back down to earth with a bump when being demolished 7-1 by Borussia Dortmund.

However, Brendan Rodgers’ side bounced back from that bruising setback by battling their way to a spirited 0-0 draw away at Atalanta.

As for RB Leipzig, they are one of six teams that have yet to get off the mark in the new look league phase, having lost each of their opening three assignments.

Over 2.5 Celtic Corners

Buoyed by the cauldron-like atmosphere created by their fans, I’m kicking off the Bet Builder with a minimum of three Celtic corners. Rodgers’ side are well-renowned for being the corner kings of the Scottish Premiership, but they have carried that habit onto the continent this term.

They racked up 11 flag-kicks when putting Slovan Bratislava to the sword in Glasgow's east end back in September. They have since earned four corners on each of their respective visits to both Borussia Dortmund and Atalanta. Thus, there is plenty of scope for Celtic to repeat the trick on Tuesday night when being roared on by a passionate Parkhead crowd.

Alistair Johnston To Commit 1+ Foul

For the first of two player-based selections, I'll start with Celtic’s Alistair Johnston to commit at least one foul. The Bhoys right-back has been booked in two of his three Champions League outings this term, committing exactly one foul on each occasion.

The Canadian international has also been one of Celtic’s most prolific foulers in the Scottish Premiership this season. Johnston has given away one or more free-kicks in eight of his 10 Scottish top-flight outings this term, including each of his last three.

Callum McGregor To Commit 1+ Foul

Moving on to the final leg of the Bet Builder, I’m going with Callum McGregor to get on the wrong side of the referee once or more. The Celtic skipper picked up his second yellow card of the season during Saturday’s 6-0 annihilation of Aberdeen. That was McGregor’s second booking across his last four starts for the Bhoys.

While the 31-year-old has yet to have his name taken on continental duty this term, he has tackled his way into trouble four times across his three appearances to date. McGregor is very much an all-round midfielder but he is prone to making a tactical foul from time-to-time. He may have to take one for the team on Tuesday night when going up against a Leipzig team laced with attacking talent.
