Friday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me take a trip to the Romanian top flight and I’ve highlighted a goals-based selection in one of the fixtures.

Two clubs separated by two points in the Romanian Liga I table meet at the Dr. Constantin Rădulescu Stadium tomorrow evening as third-placed Cluj plays host to eighth-placed Sepsi in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Ex-Chelsea and Sheffield Wednesday player Dan Petrescu has seen his side score a joint league-high 21 goals across their opening 12 matches, with 16 (76%) of them coming on home soil.
Only second-placed Universitatea Craiova have prevented Cluj from scoring at home in the league – with The Railwaymen notching on multiple occasions in six (75%) of them – and will be expected to add to their impressive goal-tally at home against a Sepsi defence that has kept just one clean sheet and conceded 10 goals across their opening six road trips.
Valentin Suciu’s visitors have scored 16 goals across their opening 13 matches in the Romanian top flight, with nine (56%) of them coming across their opening six road trips.
The Red and Whites have made the net bulge in nine (69%) of their league matches – notching on multiple occasions in 3/6 (50%) of their away matches – and will look to trouble a Cluj defence that has kept just two clean sheets and conceded 13 goals across their opening eight league encounters on home soil, with both clean sheets coming against each of the bottom two.

Dan Petrescu’s hosts’ opening 12 matches in the Romanian top flight have averaged a joint league-high 3.00 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals banking in nine (75%) of them.
Those numbers rise even further when playing on home soil, with their eight league matches in front of their supporters averaging an eye-catching 3.63 goals per game, with Over 2.5 Goals paying out in seven (88%) of them – and given the same has landed in 5/6 (83%) of Sepsi’s league outings on the road – I’m happy to have a play on these two sides producing a minimum of three strikes in Cluj tomorrow evening, a selection that has paid out in each of the past five meetings at this venue.
