Today, bookies currently place Norwich at 9/1 to be promoted, making them a rank outsider in the promotion odds market. The team currently sits just one place outside the playoff zone but is five points adrift of table-toppers Sunderland on 22 points. Overall, though, manager Johannes Hoff Thorup is enjoying a fantastic start to his first full season in charge of the Canaries.
The team is currently on a six-match unbeaten run, which included 4-0 and 4-1 victories over Hull City and Watford, respectively.

Adding a first-team coach with Champions League experience eager to launch their coaching career should only bear positive results for the Norfolk side who will be looking to push into the playoff places and maintain this excellent run of form.
Wilshere left his post as Arsenal Under 18s coach to pursue the opportunity. The club’s next three fixtures include a tough clash at home to Middlesbrough, followed by games against Sheffield Wednesday and Cardiff City. If he can help them continue their unbeaten run across these three matches, then we expect odds on Norwich to be promoted to shorten in the coming weeks.
Known for his quick passing, excellent technique and silky skills as a player, Wilshere is joining a side who have already registered a league high 19 goals, which have come in only 11 matches so far. Wilshere spent the entirety of his career in the Premier League, the majority of which was enjoyed at Arsenal, with short stints at West Ham and Bournemouth.
Now is the time to back Canaries
With his Premier League pedigree, Wilshere seems perfectly placed to improve Norwich’s coaching staff due to his experience at the level above. Adding this knowledge to an already flourishing attack should only serve to improve the Canaries’ chances, and we expect them to continue their high-scoring record in some easier fixtures after facing Middlesbrough this weekend.
As such, now may be the time to capitalise on the East Anglia club’s current 9/1 odds to return to the Premier League after a three-year absence next spring.
