Neither of Rizzel's selections performed well on Monday. Since I didn't see the races myself, I can't give you all a brief rundown of how they performed.

I've picked out two selections for Tuesday which both come from the meeting at Exeter.

Rizz is having the night off and will return for Wednesday's racing tomorrow.

Cairnzy's Tips

Jackpot Des Bordes 6/5 – Exeter 2.10

Paul Nicholls has his string in good shape at present, producing three winners from seven runners, one of which included his 147 rated Rubaud who hacked up to win by over 7L last Sunday.

Nicholls holds a strong hand in this contest with Jackpot Des Bordes and although quite short in terms of price at 6/5, I'm more than happy to have a play at the current odds.

My selection has only raced two times in his short racing career, but was impressive on debut in November of last year, when winning comfortably by two and three quarter lengths at Hereford. He was then put away over the winter, and made his seasonal reappearance in April this year which saw him chase home the odds on favourite Celtic Dino, only to go down by half a length. The form of that recent runner up effort could hardly read any better with Celtic Dino following up last week at Wincanton, which saw him beat home the runner-up by just over 14L.

Rose Of Arcadia 4/1 – Exeter 4.28

I was planning on only having one selection for Tuesday but I had a quick flick through the rest of the Exeter card, and the 4.28 contest looks quite a good race. Notably, there are a few familar faces on show which have been past selections on this thread for Rizz. I know An Tailliur was defintely an old selection, but I think Rose Of Arcadia and Tea Clipper were also put up by Rizz in the past.

I thought Rose Of Arcadia looked a good bet at 4/1 and looks reasonably treated on some of her old form. She's now rated 129 but with Freddie Gingell on board claiming 3lb that makes her an even better handicapped horse. Rose Of Arcadia is a strong stayer, and has form in the book over further, so this sort of distance will be no issue.

My selection was soundly beaten last time out when finishing fourth at Plumpton, she didn't run a great race on that occassion and after watching a replay, something defintely looked amiss. Notably she's had wind surgery over the summer, and as a result, I can only assume that was maybe the possible issue with her.

Rose Of Arcadia has a good record when returning fresh, winning on her last two season reappearances which included wins at Newtown Abbot and Chepstow. If the recent wind surgery has worked then she has a great chance in this contest of getting back to winning ways for a stable in decent form. Joe Tizzard is currently operating at a 21% strike rate with 4 wins and 5 placed efforts from last 19 runs.
