It was unfortunate to waste yet another decent priced winer as 15/2 selection went in accompanied by a 5/1 place. We'll take it and move on given we've had enough worse days.
Attacanter Racing Tips
Irish Rumour 4/1 five places – 14.25 Curragh
I hate taking market leaders, I have far too much scepticism in the game but I do believe this selection has shown enough to include with place claims on what I've seen looking strong. There is more value to be had with five places paid in the race but the selection, Irish Rumour ran a nice race over today's C&D back in August off a 4 month break.
She wasn't asked much cantering along nicely when far enough behind 3 furlongs out, although never getting to the winner she flew home from perhaps 10 lengths back which was quickly capitalised on next time at Navan when going in 2lbs higher.
Raised 6lb for that the winning jockey, who returns today wasn't on when a close up 3rd last time out nearly a month ago. She remains on the same mark today but she is more than capable.
Cajetan 7/1 four places – 19.45 Chelmsford
Jack Channon isn't really a trainer we have caught right just yet but a chance is taken on his runner tonight on the All Weather in a Class 4 contest over 6 furlongs.
The gelding was given an opening mak of 84, on his first run this year back in March when rated 81, he won at Newcastle at this level before a decent enough 6th of 17 in a Class 2 at Newmarket. He went in again rated 80 back on the All Weather at Kempton before a five month break.
The horse was out just shy of two weeks ago over 5f at Ascot again in a Class 2, he is just 2lbs above his last win at this level and for the price that is considerate enough despite the depth of this race.
Gone Rouge 5/1 four places – 17.10 Chelmsford
Gone Rouge tries 1m2f for the first time having finished 2nd at Musselburgh the last twice, well beat last time her run prior to that was acceptable enough. It counts for nothing if this race doesn't play out in his favour over the extra distance but the horse is capable at this level.
The horse had a decent spell as a 2yo, winning two of his first three races, the latter of those was on handicap debut over 7f at a heavy Haydock rated 73. Now into a Class 6 rated 7lbs lower a chance is taken that this horse will be better suited to this trip as many of the yard's are.
Cloud Cover 8/1 four places – 19.00 Southwell
Top weight Cloud Cover may well struggle to win this off this rating but a chance is taken given she's proven at Listed level at Chelmsford in July when going down by a neck to Vetiver.
She is only 2lbs higher in the ratings and drops into a Class 2 after a two month lay off. Last seen at Newcastle when a disappointing 7th of 12 in a similar contest as today. That was in a Racing League contest and can be forgiven.
She has won twice on the AW and Clifford Lee being back on board is a positive, there'll be a race for her soon enough so hopefully she can outrun her price and get involved today.
