Tuesday's NAP of the Day

It’s always nice when it all comes together as it did with Haku yesterday, especially after going early, taking a price that shortens dramatically.

It’s worth noting that a 15p rule 4 will have stung anyone who got the 6/1, which was available in places on Monday morning, as well as at the time of posting on Sunday night. To clarify, a £10 bet at 6/1 would’ve returned £61 (£51 profit) instead of £70. The running P&L at the bottom of the article reflects the R4 deduction.

Spirit Of Breeze

20/1

On Tuesday, the Nap of the Day runs at Leicester, where Spirit Of Breeze appeals considerably more than the early odds would suggest.

Gary Moore’s runner hasn’t shown much in two runs this season, finishing fifth (of 7) at Sandown last time out, though he likely needed a couple of runs following 401 days off, while he drops back into Class 6 company here, which shouldn’t be ignored.

Returns to the scene of his last victory

The four-year-old returns to Leicester today having won over course and distance on soft ground back in July 2023. He’s also back down to the mark that he won from that day, while Kieran Shoemark gets back in the saddle too.

Prior to that win over C&D, the gelding finished second (of 8) over this trip (and at this level) at Lingfield. He’s yet to finish out of the top two when racing in Class 6 company.

His trainer has fired in a few winners of late, which is never a bad thing, while Moore is also a handler who has a solid record at Leicester.

To be honest, the form of each of his Class 6 runs tells me that he can be a much more serious player than early odds of 20/1 suggests, while we shouldn’t be surprised if he improves on recent efforts now that he’s ready to rock and roll fitness wise, dropping back into Class 6 company.

All in all, there’s plenty to like about this one. Odds of 20/1, which at the time of writing are on offer at bet365, should definitely be taken by those looking to cut off a chunk of value for money.

Based on a £10 level-stakes example, the Nap of the Day running profit is +£90.00 (since switching to being published here (10/09/2024) rather than on the ‘Nap of the Day' page).

Be nice if that lands today and earlier race I’m to impatient to wait for later races . I asked you other day do you do better on jumps or flat ? Don’t think you must have seen.

Not to be with that one, though certainly ran better by taking fourth than both the early price and the drift suggested. Sorry, I didn’t see your previous message. I don’t have a massive preference, though to narrow my focus, with a few exceptions, I mainly focus on handicaps on the flat and handicap hurdles over the jumps.
