Saturday’s Football Tips: Arsenal out to pile on the misery for sorry Southampton

Southampton have made a miserable start to the Premier League season and things should get even worse today when they take on high-flying Arsenal.

While the Gunners are now favourites for the title, Saints are leading the odds for relegation after taking just a point from their first six games.

Manager Russell Martin has turned on his players after the last two games and that never ends well so things could get ugly for Southampton if Arsenal hit top form.

Mikel Arteta's side are coming off the back of a brilliant home win over PSG in the Champions League so it's no surprise to see them as short as 1/9 with Betano today.

It's hard finding value with the Gunners such heavy favourites but combining the home win with over 3.5 goals pays evens. That bet landed when they faced Ipswich at the Emirates last weekend.

It looks like being a long afternoon for Southampton's defence and backing some of their players for cards could pay off. Stopper Taylor Harwood-Bellis is 7/2 with Betfred for a third card this term while midfielder Flynn Downes is shorter at 7/4 after yellows in his last two outings.

Crystal Palace vs Liverpool top tips

Liverpool have made a flying start under new boss Arne Slot and head to Crystal Palace boasting a one-point lead over Arsenal and Manchester City at the top.

Palace have probably been the biggest underachievers in the Premier League so far, having made such an impressive end to last season under new boss Oliver Glasner.

Last week's loss at Everton left them in the bottom three so the Eagles desperately need to start flying soon. I fancy goals at both ends here and combining BTTS with over 2.5 strikes pays 20/21 at Bet365.

Manchester City vs Fulham top betting tips

Manchester City have dropped points in their last two Premier League games but should get back on track at home to Fulham today.

Pep Guardiola's men strolled to a 4-0 win at Slovan Bratislava in midweek and could have scored a lot more goals in Slovakia.

Fulham will be a tougher nut to crack but Erling Haaland is a battering ram up front and Betano make him 2/1 to grab the opener.

City's defence usually gives the opposition a few sights of goal so in-form Fulham striker Raul Jimenez looks good at 13/8 with Bet365 just to have an effort on target.

Dundee vs Kilmarnock top betting tips

The best game in the SPFL Premiership today is probably Kilmarnock's trip to Dundee as both teams look to get out of a slump.

The Dark Blues were on fire at the start of the season and won six of their first seven games. But Tony Docherty's men have now gone five without a victory and last week's loss to Aberdeen was their third in a row.

Killie have gone seven without a win and conceded a last-gasp leveller against Dundee United last week to make it four draws in a row. Another stalemate wouldn't be a surprise today at 23/10 with Betano but the half-time draw is safer at 21/20.

Four of the five meetings last term hit double figures for corners so over 11.5 flag kicks could be worth a punt at 21/20.
