Tottenham Hotspur are the favourites for the Europa League and they kick off their campaign at home to Qarabag tonight.

Ange Postecoglou has made a rod for his own back by claiming he always wins a trophy in his second season but the bookies reckon he could live up to that boast in Europe.

The Aussie was feeling the heat a little after the derby loss to Arsenal but has since steered Spurs to wins over Coventry and Brentford.

That should continue against the champions of Azerbaijan, with Qarabag beaten home and away by Dinamo Zagreb in Champions League qualifying.

But they also smashed seven on the road against Bulgarian champions Ludogorets so Tottenham will need to show them some respect.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Qarabag top betting tips

I'd imagine Postecoglou will field a pretty strong side for this game so we should see a few goals. Tottenham always give their opponents plenty of chances and Qarabag have some quality players in attack so BTTS looks good at evens with Betano.

Over 3.5 match goals only pays 17/20 but over 1.5 first-half strikes is a little better at 20/21.

The player markets offer higher prices, albeit that's a bit riskier as Postecoglou could make changes in attack. If Swedish star Dejan Kulusevski starts he looks decent value for a goal at 11/5 with Betano.

Malmo vs Rangers top tips

The Europa League has brought Rangers plenty of joy in recent years, with the Ibrox side reaching the final in 2022 and the last 16 on three other occasions.

They topped their group last term under Philippe Clement but the Belgian has been forced to do a rebuild on the cheap this summer, with several key players also moving on.

They are already five points behind in the SPFL Premiership but have won their last two games to boost confidence heading into their European opener against Malmo.

The Swedish champions beat a decent PAOK side in Champions League qualifying but then lost to Sparta Prague in the play-offs so this is a tricky one to call.

Neither side has been convincing in defence this term so the best option could be going for goals. Over 2.5 strikes is a decent 19/20 with Betano and if you combine that with BTTS it boosts the odds to 6/5.

Isaac Kiese Thelin has been in fine form for Malmo this term, netting 14 times, so he looks decent value at 31/20 for anytime scorer.

Roma vs Athletic Bilbao top betting tips

The best game to watch in the Europa League tonight will probably be Roma's clash with Athletic Bilbao in Italy.

The Serie A giants are in disarray after the sacking of boss Daniele De Rossi but they've actually lost just one of their first five games this term.

Too many draws have been the problem and with these sides evenly matched the half-time stalemate looks a good option tonight at evens.

The Basques started the season poorly but have picked up of late, racking up three successive wins in La Liga. They've only kept two clean sheets all season though and face some serious firepower tonight in the shape of Artem Dovbyk and Paulo Dybala.

The Argentine seems to be on Roma's penalties so he looks a good price for a goal at 19/10.

Polish Cup today and the first one up sees 4th tier Grom Nowy Staw entertain 2nd tier LKS Lodz, the away side are heavy favourites and should be a routine win.

However the home side are regular scorers at their level having found the net in 36 of their last 40 matches. Granted it’s stiffer opposition today but it’s at home but I’m willing to take a punt on them finding the net in a 1 off cup tie against a side that’s conceded in 37 of their last 39 competitive away days

7/4 at Wullie Hills that I’ll have too take but significantly better at Paddy’s

Apologies, my selections the other day were 💩 with nothing landing. Not managed the time for my own bet let alone here since then but there’s a few things today I think worth taking.

    Malmo vs Rangers

Think this is a standout for cards and have been eyeing it up. There’s some history between the sides already, albeit not the players, however I think both teams will see this as a winnable fixture and the games previously over the years have all been pretty card heavy. It should be a tasty atmosphere fan wise with it being reported Malmo rivals Helsingborg will have their ultras joining the rangers fans in attendance with links between the two sets of supporters. On top of that, the referee is not afraid to get his cards out at all and can rack them up in the right game. All things combined this match could get pretty fiesty.

There’s a few angles to this and I think current prices represent better value than I thought would be available.

In their qualifying rounds Malmo picked up 2+ cards in 5 out the 6 games, and cards were a theme of each game with all 6 games seeing at least 4+ cards. Rangers only qualifying round seen them pick up 3+ cards each leg and I can’t see Rangers not picking up at least 2 cards. When put on the back foot they can be prone to rash challenges and it can get a bit messy. Personally, I would be very surprised if the nap doesn’t land.

    Both teams 2+ cards each @ 1/1 (bet365) Nap

    Over 4.5 match cards @ 11/10 (bet365) Nb

The red card market also appears here. Whether you take the individual team to get a red or red in the game, I think the odds are good here. It’s 5/1 for a red in the game, or 11/1 for either side depending how you want to stake it. Will be having a few pennies on both teams picking one up too at big odds.

    Small stakes

    Over 5.5 match cards @ 9/4 (bet365)

Red card in the match @ 5/1 (Whill)

    Very small stake

Both teams to see red @ 90/1 (Whill)

    Good luck 🤞
