Tuesday’s Football Tips: Big boys should avoid shock exits in EFL Cup

There are plenty of David v Goliath ties in the third round of the EFL Cup tonight thanks to the new seeded draw.

And the most intriguing one comes at Adams Park as League One Wycombe Wanderers bid to pull off a shock against Aston Villa.

With Unai Emery's side juggling Premier League and Champions League football this season, I'd imagine Villa will rest lots of their big hitters for tonight's tie.

That could level things up a bit and Wycombe head into the game in fine form, winning five of their last six games in a run that has seen them go unbeaten for over a month.

Wycombe have drawn a blank in just one of their 10 games this term and should get a few chances against a weakened Villa side.

Backing BTTS pays 17/20 at Betano and if you add over 2.5 goals to that it boosts the odds to 28/25.

Having scored four goals as a sub so far this season, Jhon Duran should be unleashed from the start here for Aston Villa.

The Colombian is 11/10 at Bet365 for anytime scorer and that looks excellent value based on his form so far this term.

Fit-again Emiliano Buendia should also get more game time and he appeals at 12/5 for an assist.

Chelsea vs Barrow top tips

The game of the night for football romantics comes at Stamford Bridge as Chelsea's millionaires take on the Barrow boys.

Barrow head to London in high spirits as they currently top League Two and knocked out Championship side Derby County in the last round of the Carabao Cup.

But the Blues are also in fine fettle after an impressive 3-0 win away to West Ham on Saturday moved them up to fifth in the Premier League table, just three points off the summit.

Boss Enzo Maresca will probably use this cup tie to rotate his squad, with Chelsea boasting so many options in attack. The Blues are just 1/33 to win in 90 minutes but the player markets offer better value.

Joao Felix looks good at 10/11 for anytime scorer with Bet365 if he starts and backing him to net from outside the box boosts the odds to 12/1.

Barrow's Gerard Garner has three goals to his name this term so could be worth a punt at 5/2 just to have an effort on target tonight.

Manchester City vs Watford top betting tips

Watford are rank outsiders at the Etihad but will be hoping Manchester City's epic clash with Arsenal on Sunday has taken a toll.

With this EFL Cup tie coming just two days after that top-of-the-table clash, I'd imagine Pep Guardiola will make lots of changes.

Watford are 14/1 for a shock win at Betano and while City should still be too strong, the Hornets could ask a few questions. BTTS pays 11/10 and that looks a decent option.

Jack Grealish should start for City after coming off the bench against Arsenal and he's worth a punt for anytime scorer at 13/5 with Bet365.

Scotland stopper Ryan Porteous is usually good value for a card and appeals at 21/10 to go into the book if he starts for Watford.

Atalanta vs Como top betting tips

Last night's Serie A clash between Atalanta and Como was called off at the last minute thanks to a torrential downpour but the game has been rescheduled for tonight so here's our take on the game in case you missed it yesterday…

After the joy of winning the Europa League last term, there was a hangover for Gian Piero Gasperini's men as they lost three of their first four games in all competitions in the new campaign.

But they beat Fiorentina 3-2 at home at last weekend and followed that up by claiming a creditable draw to Arsenal in the Champions League.

Only a missed penalty stopped them from beating the Gunners too and Betano make them 2/5 hot favourites to defeat a Como side who have gone five games without a win.

Three of those matches have ended in draws though and Como netted twice last weekend in a  2-2 stalemate with Bologna. That makes me think BTTS stands a chance tonight, although the odds aren't great at 31/40. An Atalanta win with over 2.5 goals is probably better at 21/20 with Betano.

Charles De Ketalaere  looked a threat against the Gunners and the Belgian is 6/4 for anytime scorer tonight.
