As usual, let us know in the comment section who you fancy for today's racing.
Attacanter Racing Tips
Romanovich 15/2 – 16.30 Brighton
There is a niggling doubt my selection doesn't turn up here having won over C&D recently, perhaps having earned his stable fees, he's now saved for another day but at the price, we take a chance the trainer reaching for a 5lbs apprentice means he will at least be tried. The price is much bigger than expected but the experts have priced River Wharfe a lot shorter, a horse he smashed to bits recently who doesn't overly like this trip.
His stablemate set a furious pace last time and my selection was the only horse to go by. The stablemate won over further next time but he is entered in this with Gina Mangan retaining her ride. With different tactics, her horse will have a better chance today but on what I saw just over 10 days ago, Romanovich is readily chanced at the expense of the badly out of sorts Rivas Rob Roy.
Oscar's Sister 13/2 4 places – 19.30 Wolverhampton
John O'Shea has two in this, he is the trainer of Romanovich, I remember last season over the space of a couple of weeks he was banging them in left, right, and… centre. He may be due a good day but I'll take him on with one I hope can make an impression on tapeta debut.
Lewis Edmunds does not ride for the trainer a lot, her main rider is actually on the fav in the 20:00 so my selection is obviously a risk even before delving into the form. A sole win as a 2yo off 72 was the only run of note until last time out, enough was shown to believe this horse is ready to at least hit the frame with an extra place a bonus.
Lia Rose 7/1 – 19.40 Nottingham
Lia Rose was beaten well enough last time, but the winner has at least gone in again since. Obviously form lines at this level from 3yos are not to be taken on too seriously but the yards top jockey does take over and the 4th winning from her last race does give cause for optimism.
With a hot pot to beat, I did consider Stratocracy for a yard on my radar but thought the selection will be giving it a good go given how well the trainers have been running recently. Unfortunately only two places are on offer, I won't be dabbling each way with two places again but thought this one was potentially overpriced in what looks a tricky race to hit the frame in.
Ocean Odyssey 9/1 – 17.00 Brighton
Ocean Odyssey is unfancied from early market vibes which is quite disconcerting but he can't run as bad as my other selections to date so he is chanced. I identified a good few ahead of him in the market as being there on merit so perhaps there will be an easier assignment down the road. Gary Moore is local to Brighton and he typically has at least one go close, so his other runners may be worth a look.
- Advised bet – Eachway Lucky 15
WHAT IS A LUCKY 15 BET?
A Lucky 15 bet consists of 15 unique bets, covering every possible combination that comes from backing four selections. The 15 bets are broken down like this:
– 1 fourfold accumulator
– 4 trebles, with each treble omitting one of your selections
– 6 doubles, again covering every possible combination
– 4 singles
The attraction of a Lucky 15 is that it offers many more ways to win than a standard accumulator. A Lucky 15 uses both your acca and your singles as well as producing trebles and doubles that reward you for correctly calling 2/4 or 3/4 of your selections. To cover the 15 separate bets, a Lucky 15 uses your stake 15 times. If you were to place £1 on a Lucky 15, you would be staking £15 in total across the various bets.
