Kilmarnock ended last season on a high but they've made a poor start to the new campaign and need a win over Tromso in the UEFA Conference League qualifiers to spark back into life.
Derek McInnes worked his magic at Rugby Park last term to seal fourth spot in the Premiership, a finish which earned the Ayrshire club a crack at the Europa League.
A promising 1-1 draw with Cercle Brugge hinted that Killie were ready to push on but they bowed out with a 1-0 loss in Belgium and dropped down into the Conference League instead.
Kilmarnock drew once more at home against Tromso in last week's first leg but it could have been much worse as Bobby Wales came off the bench to grab a late leveller.
That was followed by a dismal 3-0 SPFL Premiership loss to St Johnstone, a defeat that left McInnes' side propping up the pile after a 4-0 hammering by Celtic on day one.
So they need to up their game against a Tromso side who defied their poor domestic poor to dominate parts of last week's first leg at Rugby Park.
Tromso had a free weekend to concentrate on Europe and will be confident of finishing the job in front of their own fans.
How the bookies view it: Tromso homing in on the play-offs
With Kilmarnock in poor form, it's no great surprise to see them as Betfred's 11/4 outsiders to qualify, with Tromso now 1/4 favourites to go through. A Killie win in 90 minutes is even bigger at 9/2 and the odds on Tromso in that market are still short at 8/15. A draw at 90 minutes takes the tie to extra time and that pays 11/4.
Head to head: Norway curse goes on for Killie
Kilmarnock are still seeking their first win over Norwegian opposition after three attempts. Last week's 2-2 draw with Tromso followed a 3-1 aggregate defeat against Viking Stavanger in the UEFA Cup back in 2001, with the away leg ending in a 2-0 defeat.
Players to watch: Lasse taking the lead
I flagged up Lasse Nordas as Tromso's biggest threat in the first leg and he netted their second goal at Rugby Park. That made it eight for the season and the striker looks good value at 15/8 with Bet365 for another strike in the return.
Kilmarnock will need a bit of magic to come out on top and Danny Armstrong could be the man to provide it. The winger is a threat with shooting from distance and he's a little overpriced at 7/1 for anytime scorer.
Probable teams
McInnes went with two players up front in the first leg but will probably drop Bruce Anderson for this one and just have Kyle Vassell up top. Tromso should be along similar lines to the first leg.
Tromso: Haugaard, Skjaervik, Jenssen, Paintsil, Guddal, Norheim, Hjerto-Dahl, Antonsen, Yttergard Jenssen, Nordas, Romsaas.
Kilmarnock: McCrorie, Wright, Mayo, Deas, Findlay, Armstrong, Lyons, Watson, Donnelly, Vassell, Kennedy.
Anything else catch the eye?
Kilmarnock will need a big improvement on recent displays to stand a chance here and it's hard to see them getting the win away from home. Finding value with Tromso is tough buy backing them to win to nil looks decent at 6/4.
With so much at stake we could see a few desperate challenges so I'd imagine it will be a busy night for the referee. I can't see a market for total cards yet but there are prices available on individuals going in the book.
Brad Lyons has two yellows from five appearances already this term and he's 7/4 at Bet365 to fall foul of the referee again. Liam Donnelly is another who usually gets stuck in and he's 2/1 in the same market.
