MFT SlipsTips Safe 01

After delivering a winning selection in the Scottish League Cup on Tuesday night, SlipsTips shares a Bet Builder ahead of Hibs' clash with Peterhead on Saturday afternoon.

Hibernian vs Peterhead (Saturday 15:00)

Hibernian will be looking to get their Scottish League Cup campaign back on track by securing qualification to the round of 16 when they entertain Peterhead at Easter Road on Saturday afternoon.

David Gray’s side came flying out of the traps to record a pair of resounding wins over both Elgin and Queen’s Park before crashing to a shock 1-0 defeat at Kelty Hearts last weekend.

As for Peterhead, they remain in contention to qualify following back-to-back wins over both Elgin and Kelty Hearts, though they will have to claim top honours in the capital to stand a realistic chance of progressing to the knockout round.

Unsurprisingly, Hibs are red-hot favourites to return to winning ways on Saturday afternoon, so I’ll instead dip into the Bet Builder market with a view to getting the hosts onside.

The combination of Hibernian to score three or more goals alongside them to strike in both halves will bring about a 4/5 (Bet 365) play that looks worth supporting.

Following the Hibees’ shock setback in Fife last weekend, David Gray and his side have no room for error in their Group C curtain-closer with League Two outfit Peterhead.

What’s more, goal difference could be absolutely crucial in the race for top spot in the pool, so Hibs will almost certainly need to rediscover their shooting boots if they are to secure top spot in the section.

After hitting both Queen’s Park and Elgin for five in their opening two victories, the capital club look well placed to win with room to spare this weekend.

While the Blue Toon have performed admirably to put themselves in the qualification conversation with one game to go, they now face a herculean task of going up against top-flight Hibs in the capital.

The Balmoor club shipped five goals in their opening day loss to Queen’s Park and they also conceded twice to fellow League Two side Elgin last Saturday.

That defensive fragility doesn't augur well ahead of a trip to Leith to take on a Hibs side in need of both points and goals.

This Bet Builder would have paid out in both of Hibs’ two Group C successes to date and given the lay of the land in the section, I’m more than happy to support the same formula on Saturday at 4/5 on Bet 365.

Recommended Bet

  • Over 2 Hibs Goals
  • Over 0 Hibs 1st Half Goals
  • Over 0 Hibs 2nd Half Goals
  • Bet Builder – 4/5 (Bet 365)
