Wednesday’s Football Tips: Sagan Tosu desperate for J-League points as they head to Yokohama

THERE'S no Euro 2024 or Copa America games for punters to sink their teeth into today but there's still an international feel with club games taking place all across the globe.

The action kicks off at 11am in the J-League where Sagan Tosu are fighting for survival after a horror run of five defeats in their last six games.

That has left them sitting third bottom but all hope isn't lost as they are just point behind Kyoto Sanga with a game in hand.

So a win in Yokohama today would take them out of the drop zone and they face a Marinos side with little to play for.

Champions in 2019 and 2022 then runners-up last term, this has been a poor campaign for Yokohama and they are languishing in 12th place.

So it could be a good time for Sagan Tosu to play them, although the fallen giants still have a superior squad.

Yokohama's form is pretty lousy as well, with four defeats in their last six, and Tokyo Verdy beat them at home in their last outing.

But they have never lost to Sagan Tosu across all eight meetings so it's easy to see why Betfred make them 4/7 favourites.

However, the last two meetings in Yokohama have ended level so there could be some value in the draw at 3/1. The half-time stalemate also appeals at 6/4.

Sagan Tosu lost 4-1 in their last outing so we could see a few goals. Brazilian Anderson Lopez has 12 goals from just 19 games this term and is 10/11 for another here.

Sandefjord vs Tromso Top Tips

The next stop on our world tour is Norway where there's a big game at the bottom of the table between Sandefjord and Tromso.

Third-bottom Tromso are only a point ahead of a Sandefjord side propping up the pile but their form has been better.

While Sandefjord have gone six games without a win, Tromso have collected two victories in the same run so could be worth a punt at 9/4 for a win this evening.

With so much at stake it should be a tight one and the half-time draw appeals again at 6/5 while betting against BTTS pays 5/4.

Columbus Crew v Nashville SC Top Tips

We're finishing off with a late-night trip to America where Columbus Crew and Nashville kick off at 11.30pm.

Columbus have been the wrecking Crew of late during a stunning run of form that has seen them win six of their last seven games.

They've scored five in each of their last two outings so it's no surprise to see them as 2/5 hot favourites against a Nashville side who have won just three of their last eight matches.

Cucho Hernandez has seven goals from his last four appearances but is just 5/6 to add to that tally. So there might be more value in backing winger Diego Rossi at 11/8 given he has netted five times in his last seven outings.
