Top in the Eastern Conference meets 11th in the Western Conference at Chase Stadium in the early hours of Sunday morning as Inter Miami plays host to St. Louis City in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Gerardo Martino’s hosts are the leading scorers across both Conferences in the MLS, banging in 39 goals across their opening 17 matches, with 23 (59%) of them coming on home soil.
The Herons have found the back of the net in each of their opening nine MLS contests in front of their supporters – scoring on multiple occasions in six (67%) of them – and will be confident of adding to their impressive goal-tally against a St. Louis side that is winless (W0-D4-L2) and has conceded 14 goals across their opening six road trips, conceding at least two goals in five (83%) of them.
Bradley Carnell’s visitors have scored 20 goals across their opening 14 MLS fixtures this campaign, with 10 (50%) of them coming across their six road trips.
The Missouri outfit have found the back of the net in 11 (79%) of their MLS contests this term – including in 5/6 (83%) of them on their travels – and will look to trouble an Inter Miami backline that has kept just two clean sheets across their previous 14 MLS encounters, shipping multiple goals in seven (50%) of them.
