LUTON TOWN remain in the Premier League drop zone with five games to go but all hope is not lost and a win over fellow strugglers Brentford would reignite hopes of survival.
Most people thought the Hatters would finish bottom of the pile this season after their play-off triumph last May completed a remarkable journey from non-league football to the top flight in under a decade.
But Rob Edwards' men have bloodied many a nose and while fellow promoted sides Sheffield United and Burnley already looked doomed, Luton Town still have a fighting chance of staying up.
They've only won once in 13 games but that was during a tough run of fixtures and the run-in is much kinder with this game followed by clashes against Wolves, Everton, West Ham and Fulham.
Points deductions for Everton and Nottingham Forest have aided Luton's cause and a win over Brentford would also cut the gap on Thomas Frank's side to just four points.
But the Bees have picked up form at the ideal time, with a four-game unbeaten run moving them up to 15th, and a victory at Kenilworth Road would pretty much guarantee their place in the top flight for another year.
Brentford beat Sheffield United last time out, with their clean sheet busting Mark's coupon, and will now be looking to end a rollercoaster season on a high by surging up the Premier League table.
How the bookies view it
Brentford's recent revival makes them favourites for this one at a best 6/5 with 888Sport while Luton Town are 23/10 outsiders at Betfair. The stalemate pays 14/5 with BetMGM.
Recent head to head
Brentford have been a bogey team for Luton Town in recent years, with the Hatters winning just one of the last eight meetings. Six of those matches have ended in wins for the Bees, including a 7-0 thrashing five years ago. It ended in a 3-1 win for Frank's side when these teams faced off in London earlier in the season, helping our man Gabriel land two bets.
Players to watch
Carlton Morris continues to lead the line well for Luton Town and scored in their last game at Kenilworth Road. He's 9/4 at SkyBet to take his tally for the season into double figures.
Ivan Toney was left on the bench last week due to a hip problem but should be fit enough to start here. He will fancy his chances against a depleted Luton Town defence and is 7/4 at William Hill for anytime scorer.
Anything else catch the eye?
Luton Town have been great entertainers all season with goals flying in at both ends. This match should be no different but combining BTTS with over 2.5 goals pays just 4/5 at Bet365. Over 3.5 strikes is better at 7/5 with Paddy Power while over 1.5 first-half goals pays 5/4 at Bet365.
Edwards is down to the bare bones at the back so keeping the Bees out could be tricky. Backing over 1.5 Brentford strikes pays 17/20 at William Hill and that looks decent.
We saw 12 corners when these sides faced off earlier in the season and there could be more on a tight Kenilworth Road pitch. Backing over 11 corners pays 5/4 with Bet365.
Tahith Chong is a threat from midfield for Luton Town and he's 5/4 with Unibet just to have a shot on target here.
