Following last night’s cracking winner at Ibrox, Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day sees me head to the Norwegian second tier, and one fixture in particular appeals to me for goals.

Two clubs separated by three places and four points in the OBOS-Ligaen table meet at the Consto Arena tomorrow teatime as 13th-placed Mjøndalen plays host to 10th-placed Jerv in a fixture that appeals to me for goals.
Mjøndalen have scored 26 goals across their opening 19 league matches, with 12 (46%) of those coming on home turf. Kevin Nicol’s hosts have found the back of the net in 14 of their previous 16 league outings – striking on multiple occasions in eight (50%) of them – and they will look to breach a Jerv defence that has recorded a joint-league-low two clean sheets in the Norwegian second tier this season, conceding on 35 occasions.
Jerv have scored 29 goals across their opening 19 league matches, with 13 (45%) of those coming on their travels. Eirik Kjønø’s visitors have found the back of the net in all bar two of their league outings this season – including in 8/9 (89%) of their road trips – and they will aim to trouble a Mjøndalen defence that has registered five shutouts this season, with three of those coming against the three clubs below them in the table.

Over 2.5 Goals has banked in 14 of Mjøndalen’s previous 16 OBOS-Ligaen fixtures, with both teams also scoring in 11 (69%) of them – and given we’ve seen Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals landing in 8/9 (89%) of Jerv’s away league matches this term – I’m willing to have a punt on us seeing at least three more here with both sides contributing.
