His Majesty was unfortunately a losing selection for me on Sunday. They went quite a pace from the front and it looked like he got caught a bit flat footed at stages as the front two went clear.
Mondays your typical day of poor racing but I'm hoping I can bounce back with a winner.
Barg 7/4 – 3:15 Pontefract
Only a small 5 runner field and unless the debutant Miami Heat is of any use this to me looks like a 2-horse race between my selection Barg and the J J Quinn trained Twlight Romance who both enter this race with similar form.
I thought Barg brought the better recent form into this race and couldn't of looked any better after demolishing the field of his recent outing at Ripon when he went on to win by around 5 or 6 lengths.
He's been hit with 4lb for that recent success but given the nature of how he went about his business, it looks more than manageable.
If you follow flat racing you'll know Burke does well with his string of young horses and Barg looks like another nice type open to progression.
Jockey Sam James takes the ride, worth noting Sam was aboard Barg on his last outing which I always think is a positive to have the same jockey aboard a winning horse next time out.
Baez 7/1 EW – 7:30 Musselburgh
I thought at the prices Baez was a decent each-way play in this race.
Current favourite Robert Johnson is thriving of late and if handling a 6lb rise and upped in trip is surely the one they all have to beat but at 6/4 I've opted to look elsewhere.
My eyes were drawn to Baez who has since improved with 3 placed efforts at Ayr since joining Jim Goldie from the Keith Dalgleish back in May of this year.
Sometimes a change of scenery/stable change is all that's needed to spark a horse into form and I think there's even more improvement in Baez. She'll receive weight all round from her rivals which is a plus and at 7/1 I thought she wasn't a bad each way play in what looks a competitive race.

5/2 projected price on Equibase App Elvis but 11/8 was best with with Paddy Power when prices went up about 12.15 (?) before hit my kip. 5/4 and 11/10 lasted for a bit then smashed.
Bet365 would have had early prices up but didn’t check them ,been nice to get on it early. Only thing miss about them

More interesting is the time of year these wins occurred.

Had a 1st run for 4 months here in June coming 4th of 10 so should be primed for finishing last today 🤣
Been a bit of a globetrotter in his day running at royal Ascot a couple of times over in France and even the breeders cup juvenile sprint in 2017 at del mar as a 2 year old, coming a decent 4th to an adrien O’Brien/Ryan Moore mount declerationofpeace.
