Leicester City vs Liverpool

, KO: 20:00 May 15, 2023, King Power Stadium
Liverpool

LEICESTER CITY and Liverpool round off the Premier League weekend when they lock horns at the King Power on Monday night.

The Foxes' relegation fears have heightened following a damaging 5-3 defeat at Fulham last time out, on an afternoon where my Craven Cottage selection copped.

That chastening setback coupled with results elsewhere means that Dean Smith's side are residing in the relegation zone with just three rounds of fixtures remaining.

Back on home soil on Monday night, Leicester will be looking to boost their survival hopes by claiming top honours against in-form Liverpool.

The Reds have hauled themselves back into the top-four conversation following a run of six Premier League wins on the spin, most recently edging out Brentford 1-0 at Anfield.

As such, Jurgen Klopp's side start the weekend just one point behind fourth-placed Manchester United and further three behind Newcastle as the race for Champions League qualification looks set for a dramatic climax.

Outright Betting

Leicester City, who have won just twice at home in the Premier League since the World Cup break, go into their penultimate King Power fixture of the season as 9/2 (BetVictor) underdogs while the draw is an unfancied 10/3 (BetVictor).

Liverpool are lowly 11/20 (Bet 365) favourites to make it seven Premier League victories in succession.

Betting Angles

Goals are usually on the agenda when either of these teams are involved and there is plenty of scope for a repeat here with Both Teams to Score and Over 2.5 Goals appealing at 9/10  (10Bet).

While Dean Smith has an array of attacking talent at his disposal, his side continue to ship strikes at an alarming rate, with only three teams conceding goals more than the Foxes in the Premier League this season so far.

In fact, Leicester have failed to file a clean sheet in each of their last 20 top-flight fixtures, with a sizable 13 of those contests crashing through the Over 2.5 Goal barrier.

What's more, the Foxes have struck in nine of their last 10 league games, including each of their five outings under Dean Smith's guidance, and they're certainly capable of carving out opportunities against a Liverpool backline that is far from watertight.

However, at the other end of the park, Jurgen Klopp has an awesome attacking armoury filled with goal-threatening talent that could smell blood against a Leicester reargaurd that leaked five goals at Fulham last time out.

Taking all of that into account, coupled with the fact that both sides will have to go for victory here, backing both teams to combine for three or more strikes stands out at 9/10 (10Bet).

This particular bet would have paid out in December's reverse fixture at Anfield, not to mention the same combination has clicked in seven of the hosts' last 10 league games.

One Liverpool player who looks nicely priced to get on the scoresheet here is Mohamed Salah who has been priced up at 6/5 for a goal with Bet 365.

Having scored seven goals in as many games for the Reds, the Egyptian winger's purple patch in front of goal is showing no signs of slowing down and he looks like a prime candidate to put ailing Leicester to the sword.
