MANCHESTER UNITED could be on a revenge mission when they take on Crystal Palace at Old Trafford on Saturday afternoon.
Michale Olise's stoppage time stunner denied the Red Devils a tenth consecutive win in all competitions when the pair met in the Premier League at Selhurst Park just over two weeks ago.
Erik ten Hag’s team subsequently found themselves on the wrong end of a 3-2 reverse against Arsenal at the Emirates, which means they start the weekend occupying fourth place.
That being said, Man United come into this match in high spirits after sealing their passage to the EFL Cup final with a 2-0 win over Nottingham Forest in midweek.
As for Crystal Palace, they followed up on their aforementioned stalemate with United by playing out a dour 0-0 draw with Newcastle, on an evening where my 11/2 card tip copped.
That means Patrick Viera’s side are sitting in a comfortable mid-table position at present, although they will be keen to put more space between themselves and the bottom-three.
Outright Betting
Manchester United are short priced 2/5 (Bet 365) favourites to make it six Premier League home wins on the spin.
A repeat of last month’s share of the spoils has been priced up at 18/5 (William Hill) while the Eagles are as big as 8/1 (Betfred) to earn all three points.
Betting Angles
Manchester United are too short to side with at the aforementioned quote so I'll get creative and merge Manchester United to win, under five match goals and over zero Crystal Palace cards at 10/11 with Bet 365.
The Red Devils’ have done the majority of their best work at home this season, with their midweek success against Nottingham Forest their 12th successive victory at the Theatre of Dreams across all competitions.
That being said, Erik ten Hag’s side have been running along in solid, if unspectacular fashion, with each of those 12 Old Trafford triumphs generating under five match goals, not to mention three of Crystal Palace’s four Premier League road losses this season have featured four goals or fewer.
As such, I’ll couple up a home win and under five match goals here, but to round off the 10/11 (Bet 365) Bet Builder, I’ll also back Palace to pick up at least one booking.
Patrick Viera’s side have been one of the league’s most ill-disciplined sides in the Premier League this season, averaging 2.35 cards per-game, a tally that rises to 2.78 on their travels.
It’s also worth highlighting that this Bet would have paid out in nine of United’s 12 Premier League wins this season, so 10/11 (Bet 365) odds about a repeat on Saturday is a price that definitely represents value.
Given that Marcus Rashford has made the net bulge in five of his last six Premier League outings, I’m more than happy to back him to get in on the act here again at 5/4 (PaddyPower).
The revitalised forward has been playing at the peak of powers since the World Cup break and he looks enticingly priced at odds-against to breach an Eagles backline that has been breached in 15 of their 20 top-flight outings this term to date.
