CHELSEA appear to be back on track under Graham Potter and welcome managerless Wolves to Stamford Bridge on Saturday.
The Blues chalked up a comfortable win against an injury-ravaged AC Milan in the Champions League in midweek and that should give them another injection of confidence.
Potter led them to a last gasp win at Crystal Palace last week too and it's been an encouraging start to his tenure. A win against Wolves would give them back-to-back league wins for the first time since March, which is a poor stat for a club of Chelsea's ambitions.
Wolves have vowed to take their time in replacing Bruno Lage, with Pedro Martins, Julen Lopetegui and Ruben Amorim all mentioned and backed as possible opponents. Under-18s manager Steve Davis and under-21s boss James Collins are expected to take the team in London this weekend and they won't be helped by missing suspended pair Ruben Neves and Nathan Collins.
They currently sit in the bottom three relegation zone after a pretty dismal season that has yielded just one solitary league win all season against Southampton and having scored a paltry three goals in eight games in the league all season – the lowest in the Premier League.
How the bookies view it
Chelsea are perhaps not as short as you might expect here. They are still 2/5 with bet365 and there will be worse short-priced favourites than that.
Wolves can be backed at 8/1 with SBK and the draw is 15/4 with Paddy Power.
Recent head to heads
The last three games between the clubs have all finished in draws with two of them goalless. Chelsea haven't won for the past four games between the sides, but Wolves haven't enjoyed success at Stamford Bridge since 1979.
Players to watch
Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is starting to click after scoring in two games in a row for Chelsea, including in midweek against Milan. The former Barcelona man is 11/8 to score with bet365.
Daniel Podence has scored two of Wolves' three league goals this season and the Portuguese midfielder is 8/1 to score, alos with bet365 on Saturday.
Anything else catch the eye?
Chelsea have a glorious chance to maintain momentum against a Wolves side who could be in trouble this season unless they start scoring goals.
The obvious call, given Wolves' lack of goals, is a win to nil and that is a decent 6/5 with Ladbrokes.
And with confidence on the increase down west London way, they can overpower the Black Country outfit by at least a couple of goals here. Take the 11/10 on -1 on the handicaps with Paddy Power.
