Yesterday's runner was rubbish, there's no nice way of putting it. I'm not quite sure what they will do with her now as she had no excuses in my opinion, and she was convincingly beaten by horses who are miles behind her in terms of handicap ratings.
Well done to Cairnzy for tipping up another winner on the other page. I think he would've pulled his hair out if William Cox didn't manage to win on his selection as he was sitting on the bridle until 0.5 furlongs from home.

I fell victim to a recent trend of winning 3yo's in the only race I had yesterday and this race has followed in a similar pattern over recent years, 3 of the last 3 have been won by a 3yo and 6 of the last 10. Unlike yesterday when I went for the older horse, I am siding with BOUNDLESS OCEAN who is a talented 3yo and can win this as long as he doesn't let his head stop him from getting in the way.
Referring to the last comment, by that I mean he has been keen in his races, and that has been a massive flaw of his, but I think the drop back to a mile should allow him to settle better and show how good of a horse he actually is. He managed to keep a lid on his enthusiasm last time out in a Group 3 over a furlong longer, and he won that race with ease, beating some good Group 3 and Listed level animals. He was still quite keen in that race, but he didn't boil over, and I think this drop back to 8f will allow him to progress again. The form of that race has worked out quite well with the Jessie Harrington filly, Trevaunance, winning in France recently in a Group 3, so there's definite substance to Boundless Ocean's form.
A couple to note is Juncture who is a horse with ability but hasn't quite shown the same level of form but is a horse who has to be respected. Of the older horses, Raadobarg has to be one to note as he represents last year's winning connections and has shown he is a decent horse already this season. I think he might find this ground too lively for him, but is one to follow on softer.

BLUEGRASS is shorter than I was hoping for as he is taking a 4f step up in trip, so was expecting a little bit more value, but being trained by Aidan O'Brien it's to be expected that he'd be short odds. Despite his odds, I think he is the one to beat.
He has a strange pedigree, being by Galileo, which would suggest this trip will be fine, but he is out of Quiet Reflection who was a multiple Group 1 winner over sprint trips, so there are definite doubts over this staying trip. However, based on what we've seen from him so far, he should relish a longer trip as he gets going far too late in his races and when Aidan O'Brien steps a horse up in trip, you don't need any more confidence as he is a master trainer who knows what time of day it is. This lad has entries in all the big staying races, so they must feel this is right route to take.
His form behind Desert Crown isn't shabby. Obviously, the winner was in a different league, but the runner-up (Royal Patronage) isn't a mug and you had a Group 1 winner in 7th (El Bodegon) who has since run well in France in Group 1's.

Some of you might remember Dora Penny being a tip by myself when running at Leicester a month or so ago. She ran an okay race that day, but unsurprisingly has come out and won twice since… She will be the clear favourite in this, and rightly so you'd have to say, but I think you can find value elsewhere. I think GILT EDGE is worth an EW play in this. Bet365 is offering 3 places for this race, and I struggle seeing how this horse doesn't hit the frame.
This 6yo filly is 3/4 at Ffos Las and has dropped to a decent handicap mark of 66. She'll be running off 69 today as her new mark hasn't kicked in yet, but 7lbs is taken away from the talented rider Connor Planas, so that means she is running off a mark of 62. To put that into perspective, she won off 63 last year at Chepstow, winning by 5L and has won off 66 at this track before. She is a filly who loves fast ground and I think she could potentially surprise this field, even though she is a lot more exposed than the rest of them. If you can only get 2 places, then maybe a small win bet, as I'm not a fan of EW on 2 places, but the offer 365 are doing is very tempting and as long as they don't get any NR's I think she is good value as a bet to nothing.
Cairnzy returns with another sole Racing selection after Glorious Breeze returned a winning selection yesterday.
