Tuesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me stay in Scandinavia and I like the look of the league leaders in the Swedish second-tier to extend their lead at the top.
Halmstads BK vs Trelleborgs FF
🇸🇪 Superettan
⏰ Tuesday 28th June, 18:00
Halmstad will look to increase their two-point lead at the top of the Superettan table, as they play host to mid-table Trelleborg at Örjans Vall on Tuesday.
Halmstad scored twice in stoppage-time in their last league fixture to rescue a point away to Västerås to extend their unbeaten run to eight matches in the Superettan. Prior to that draw, manager Magnus Haglund had saw his side win each of their last seven in the league, including each of their last three at home. Only AFC Eskilstuna (26) and Brommapojkarna (23) have scored more goals in the Swedish second-tier than Halmstad (21), with both of those sides playing a game more than the league leaders. HBK have found the back of the net on multiple occasions in eight of their opening 10 league matches, including in each of their last seven.
Trelleborg also scored late on in their last league fixture to rescue a point at home to fellow mid-table side Landskrona. Kristian Haynes has saw his side win two and lose two of their opening four matches away from home, with both of those wins coming against two of the current bottom three in the table. Trelleborg have registered just two clean sheets from their opening 10 league matches this season, with neither of those coming away from home. In fact, Trelleborg have shipped nine goals in their four away fixtures this season, conceding on multiple occasions in three of those.
Bet of the Day
Halmstad currently hold a two point advantage at the top of the Superettan and know they can extend that lead to five, as they play their game in hand at home to mid-table Trelleborg on Tuesday evening. Magnus Haglund’s hosts come into this having won seven and drawn one of their last eight in the league and I’m backing them to win their fourth match in-a-row at home against a Trelleborg side that’s two wins away from home both came against two of the bottom three, with the visitors having lost 2-0 to Dalkurd (12th) and Brommapojkarna (6th) in their other two. Kristian Haynes has saw his side concede nine goals in just four matches away from and given the league leaders have scored on multiple occasions in each of their last seven in the league, I’m happy to add in Halmstad to score at least twice along side the home win.
