Wednesday’s Football Bet of the Day see’s me delve into both Serie A and La Liga and I like the look of two sides to score a brace at home to their struggling opponents.

Udinese vs Salernitana

🇮🇹 Serie A

⏰ Wednesday 20th April, 17:45

Udinese will look to close in on the top-half, as they host bottom side Salernitana at the Dacia Arena. The hosts come into this in 12th, seven points behind 10th-placed Sassuolo, although they do have two games in hand, whilst the visitors are 10 points adrift of safety, but do have one and two games in hand over their relegation rivals.

Udinese made it three wins on the bounce last time out, as they thumped Empoli 4-1 last Saturday afternoon. As well as winning each of their last three in Serie A, the Bianconeri have lost just one of their last eight (W4-D3-L1) and that came away to title-chasing Napoli. Gabrielle Cioffi’s side have lost just one of their last 12 at home in Serie A (W5-D6-L1), winning four of their last six. Udinese have found the back of the net in each of their last eight at the Dacia Arena, with Le Zebrette finding the back of the net 18 times in those matches, scoring on multiple occasions in five of them.

Salernitana put an end to their 11-match winless run last time out, as they secured a 1-2 victory away to relegation-rivals Sampdoria last time out, to keep their slim hopes of safety alive. Despite that win, no side has collected fewer points on their travels in Serie A than Salernitana, with the Granata collecting just 11 points from a possible 48 (W3-D2-L11). Davide Nicola’s side have failed to keep a clean sheet away from home this season and have conceded on multiple occasions in 10/16 on their travels. No side has conceded more goals in the Italian top-flight than Salernitana, with the Campania-based club conceding 69 goals.

Atlético Madrid vs Granada

🇪🇸 La Liga

⏰ Wednesday 20th April, 18:00

Atlético will look to climb up to second in the La Liga table, as they host struggling Granada at the Wanda Metropolitano. The hosts come into this in fourth, level on points with both Sevilla (3rd) and Barcelona (2nd), whilst the visitors are 18th, two points adrift of safety.

Atlético bounced back from their 1-0 defeat away to Mallorca last time out, as they defeated Espanyol 2-1 thanks to a stoppage Yannick Carrasco penalty. That win now means Diego Someone’s side have won now won seven of their last eight La Liga tussles, as well as nine of their last 11 in the Spanish capital. Atlético have found the back of the net in 14/16 of their fixtures at the Wanda this season, with Los Colchoneros scoring on multiple occasions in 11 of them, including in seven of their last eight.

Granada conceding four goals for the second successive match last time out, as they lost 1-4 at home to relegation-rivals Levante. Granada have now won just one of their last 14 fixtures, losing nine of their last 12. No side has kept fewer clean sheets than Aitor Karanka’s side (5), with just two of those coming in their last 21 matches. Only bottom side Levante (62) have conceded more goals in the Spanish top-flight than the Nazaríes (56), with 16 of those coming in their last six away from home.

Bet of the Day

Udinese come into this winning each of their last three, scoring 11 goals and will be confident of putting bottom side Salernitana to the sword at the Dacia Arena. Gabrielle Cioffi’s hosts have lost just one of their last 12 at home, winning four of their last six and I like the look of them to score at least twice at home to a Salernitana side that’s failed to keep a clean sheet on their travels this season and who have the leakiest defence in Serie A.
Atlético come into this having won seven of their last eight in La Liga and they’ll be confident of heaping more misery on a struggling Granada side. The visitors have conceded 12 in their last four in La Liga, as well as 16 in their last six on their travels and given Diego Someone’s side have scored on multiple occasions in seven of their last eight at home, they look a good bet to score another brace at the Wanda Metropolitano this evening.
