Eleanor Bob was fairly atrocious yesterday, to say the least. She jumped out to the right at literally every fence, clattered through the same fence on every lap, and as a result struggled to land a blow. Today I've picked out three horses, all coming at decent EW prices. I understand that horses are these prices are not for everyone, however, I can't decide what is racing and what catches my eye.
Carlisle 1:00
It's not normal to see Chris Gordon sending a runner up to Carlisle, so the fact he has suggests he could run a nice race. In the last five years, he has sent 2 runners to the Northern track, which yielded one win, so a 50% SR. HIWAY ONE O THREE is his sole runner at the track, and even though he hasn't shown a great deal, the odds available make him worth a small EW punt.
This lad was a decent bumper horse, producing a peak RPR of 97 from his three runs, with the other two producing a mark of 94. They're not terrible ratings, making him an average bumper horse, but there is definitely potential with him over obstacles, which we haven't quite seen the best of yet. An interesting take on this horse is they are putting on the first-time tongue tie, which could help raise his game. I can't imagine they're sending him on a 5.5 hour journey (11 hour round trip) for no reason at all, that would cost quite a bit in diesel in the current climate of fuel prices, so I get the impression they'll be wanting a decent chunk of the prize money.
Wincanton 2:35
Novice races aren't my cup of tea when it comes to betting, as horses run off level weights, all normally have unexposed profiles which are hard to read and compare form with each other. However, I said to myself that I would be backing BRIERY EXPRESS the next time I saw her run, as I was taken by her return to the track after a 1045 day absence, and I thought she would be one to follow in her next run(s).
She is currently priced up at around 6/1, which makes her an EW bet in my eyes. The one thing I'm hoping for this time around from this horse, is that she runs and settles better. It was quite remarkable to see her staying on the way she did when you consider she literally pulled the jockeys arms out all race. This horse has ability a few years ago, she was a very decent bumper horse, winning a race, and running well in a Class 1 listed Mares bumper, not being disgraced in 5th. The winner of the hurdles race at Uttoxeter won easily, but she has since gone on and won again and looks like a really nice horse, with the runner-up in the Uttoxeter race, finishing runner-up to her again at Doncaster.
Wincanton 3:10
Another horse I watched recently and thought they would be winning soon is, TIMELY GIFT. Yet again, I've looked and he's a decent EW price again, so all three selection of today being EW bets.
He has been quitely well backed the last couple of races, and has ran with credit on both runs. Last time out he was getting involved, then came off the bridle and jumped a few quite badly, then travelled nicely again, but he was never going to catch the winner that day who clearly well ahead of his mark and relished the testing conditions. This horse is out of the handicap in this race, but as a result, is racing from the foot of the weights, and considering he has ran well before from low weights, he has to be respected.
Connections have reached for cheekpieces for the first time, which is also an interesting take. There are definitely worse EW bets available today.

2x Ew singles and small Ew double
Turfway-R7..Pole Setter. 12/1
Turf Paradise -R7..Misawa 20/1.
Not a big Ew fan as you may have noticed but All bar A Smile Day from my tracker and horses I can’t ignore in these races especially Pole Setter and Misawa has a sniff.
Makes Good Sense could do with my Unyielding pulling out which is possibility but 7/1 ain’t best Ew so just go with a cheeky R/fc but I was going to do sn Ew treble and wouldn’t put anyone off.

Run teddy run 7-00 Newcastle
28-1 ew extra 6 places.
———————————————–
66-1 SP at 365, 28-1 best elsewhere.
This finished a forlorn 7th on debut 3 lengths behind ribtide in 6th and run teddy run was hampered in the straight so would have been closer to ribtide
Today run teddy run is 66-1 and ribtide 10-1.
Chances are these are both donkeys and could well up in the rear again.
Just thought the difference in price based on their debuts is too wide.
Eeeeeyoooore
Big e/w punt – 7:00 Newcastle- dark side thunder 40/1 e/w
Got a bit excited then when I saw it backed into 12/1 thought a place was def on the cards ! ?
