RAFAEL NADAL suffered one of the biggest shock defeats ever as he crashed to Steve Darcis in the first round of the men's singles at Wimbledon.
The Spaniard looked out of sorts as he went down in straight sets to the Belgian and his defeat means the draw has opened up slightly for Andy Murray as well as Roger Federer who are now scheduled to meet in the semi-finals.
Novak Djokovic remains favourite at a biggest 1-1 with Ladbrokes while Murray, who beat Benjamin Becker in straight sets, is 9-4 with Betfred and others.
Roger Federer won his opener against Victor Hanescu in three quick sets and is 9-2 third favourite at Ladbrokes.
Jo-Wilfried Tsonga is 28-1 fourth favourite but the winner is sure to come from the first three in the betting.

Yesterdays tips were a bit of a blow out were they not! Lol… are u going to put up some accas for wimbledon mr f? Just curious… was hoping for some tips yesterday but only got a few 1/6, 1/10 suggestions… a few suggested accas would be much appreciated if this is possible. I fancied harrison, tomic and dogic for tomo and was looking for some input from any tennis experts? Ellis/1plus2 what u think? They all seemed to perform well last week. And their opponents look beatable to me… I dont know much about phillipe kohlscreiber
Kev, this is predominantly a football site but you’ll get some tennis tips. I put up a double that lost. Majority of first-round favourites are incredibly short and the ones you seen from Ellis were on his challenge.

Radwanska is down to play twice tomorrow according to bet365 but I’m taking her in the first match only. Prices are again dreadful but results cant be as bad as on Monday or indeed in the U20 football tourney. I’m sticking a tenner on this lot. Goerges 2/5, Halep 1/10, Kerber 2/5, Petrova 1/5, Vesnina 1/6, Pironkova 4/6, Cibulkova 4/11 and Lisicki 4/11. Last one is the dodgiest I think.

kev, I thought Ellis would have put some up. I’ll have a look in the morning and see if I can get a winner. One goal from the treble today so could have been worse and was on Gothenburg but obviously they won but not to nil.
kev, been some funny results but there are a lot of inexperienced players involved. Having said that England should have beaten Iraq and really blew it in the end.

Their odds are usually pretty poor. But they do daily enhanced footy accas and I like their double chance scorecasts and scorecasts ;) won a few of them. Most recently the pirlo 2-1 66/1 :) just glad they are doing the same enhanced accas with the tennis

Ellis, I know what you’re saying about the short odds. Williams I saw at 1-1000 for example but check the odds. Laura Robson is 2-1 and a big underdog against Kirilenko who is seeded and reached last eight a year ago. However, I see she’s being tipped up in places. Maybe best bet would be for match to go to three sets.

Undecided on Romina Oprandi @ 2/1, but there may be a value in her too.

Mr F, yeah could of easily went the other way this one, Tomic did a hell of a job to come back into the match as he looked down and out after the 3rd and 4th sets, and even went out to 9/2 on bet365 at the start of the 5th! I observed this and decided NOT to cover it as I already had a small bet on Tomic.
Hindsights great isn’t it.
Kirilenko should take up modelling and leave tennis to the professionals. No10 seed-what a load of rubbish.!

Hantuchova looks well in trouble here and may scupper my 4 fold but this is where inplay is invaluable when Hantuchova broke back to 4-4 Zakopalova went out to 2-1 to win the match so i decided to err on the side of caution and bet her and she went out to 12-5 as well.
Still not over but Hantuchova looks to be struggling a bit especially in the 1st set.
Either way profit is looming and as i say thank feck for inplay betting.
As i said inplay is invaluable especially in tennis matches the 4 fold got scuppered but with inplay betting covered the eventualities and still came out with a profit and that’s what it’s all about.

Well Mr F IMHO someone like Querrey who pretty much just has a big serve has 2 serve pretty much 100% all the time to be in with a shout most times
Querrey actually has pedigree on grass and has made the 3rd round or better in the last 3 years at wimbledon, Tomic has more of an allround game but is mentally fragile. Having said that, it was Querrey that choked in the 5th, not Tomic!

Kev, I’ll have a look at tennis in the morning but apart from the obvious ones I’ve not picked that well the first 2 days.
And for Day 3 at Wimbledon
Two battlers that should make it difficult for their opponents are Radek Stepanek 6/5 and Tommy Robredo 15/8. Both games could go either way if neither player wins, i do expect them to at least go out fighting and let both Jerzy Janowicz and Nicolas Mahut know they have been in a match! Also worth noting that Mahut has been on a great run of form recently, we all know this never lasts…
Sloane Stephens 7/10 has looked impressive and i think she could make a big impression if not at Wimbledon then sometime soon.
Two matches that could be worth watching with interest in-play are the Victoria Azarenka(how fit is she…) and Caroline Wozniacki(pressure can get to her, can she handle it…).
Most of the big guns are out tomorrow in the Mens and Ladies doubles. I expect most of the favourites to go through and most are priced around the 1/3 mark except the Bryan brothers @ 1/20 haha
…these could well be good ones to do in the £10-£10,000 challenge and get the pot bulging!!
Agree with your reasoning but for me it’s Mahut and Stepanek with a covering bet on the alternitive acca for value. Also fancy Bennateau as well against Fernando Verdasco who is more suited to the red dirt on the continent than the quick lawns of SW19.
