Wednesday’s Bet of the Day features two games where it’s all about goals. We Start off in Australia and then conclude in Belgium.

Perth Glory vs Adelaide United

🇦🇺 A-League

Wednesday 19th May, 12:20

4th placed Adelaide travel to 9th placed Perth Glory. Perth are only 3 points off the play offs and have a game in hand over the two sides above them in the league currently. Adelaide know a win themselves will move them up at least one place possibly two depending on Sydney’s result earlier in the day.

Perth have enjoyed a good run of form winning their last 3 games which were all at home scoring 10 goals. Perth have scored in all but one of their 11 home games scoring 24 goals, the second highest amount in the league. They have however conceded in 9 of those games conceding 16 times.

Adelaide’s away games have been more entertaining than their home ones. Other than a 0-0 in their first away game, they’ve conceded in their next 10 games conceding 26 times, only second bottom Melbourne Victory have conceded more (27). They have however scored in 9 of those away games scoring 19 goals, only league leaders Melbourne City have scored more (20).

Oostende vs Mechelen

🇧🇪 Jupilier Pro League

Wednesday 19th May, 17:30

Mechelen will look to increase their lead at the top of the Europa League play off group as they travel to Oostende. Oostende meanwhile know a win here will see them close the gap on their opponents to 1 point.

Oostende’s recent games have been goal laden with there being 23 goals in their last 4 games including a 5-3 defeat to their opponents. Oostende have scored in 17 of their 19 home games this season, the both occasions they didn’t score they were shown a red card. However they’ve only kept one clean sheet in their last 14 at home however surprisingly that did come against Mechelen.

Mechelen are another sides who’s games have been full of the goals recently. All of their last 8 games have went over 2.5 goals. They’ve scored 23 goals in those eight games but have conceded 14 times. Mechelen have scored in 17 of their 19 away games including their last 5 but have conceded in 16 of those games including in their last 7.

Bet of the Day

Taking my first trip to the A-League and picked out a game between two sides who score but also concede plenty and have already seen 11 goals in their two previous meetings this season. Then it’s back to Belgium and another game between two sides who score and concede plenty. Both sides played out an 8 goal thriller just a week and a half earlier, hopefully we see another high scoring contest.

  • Perth Glory vs Adelaide United over 2.5 goals.
  • Oostende vs Mechelen over 2.5 goals
  • Double pays 1.21/1 (William Hill/Betway)
