PLATITUDE (4.25) has been given a big chance by the handicapper in the staying contest at Goodwood.
The eight-year-old runs his best races here for local trainer Amanda Perrett, posting a fine third to Stag Horn and Just Hubert in a Class 2 event over two miles here last September. Platitude was bang in the firing line until fading late and this 1m 6f trip is probably perfect. He also ran fourth to Hochfeld over course and distance in another Class 2 handicap the previous month and is now 8lb lower dropping into Class 4 grade.
Prince Imperial couldn't quicken with the principals in the Queen's Prize at Kempton but he scored over this distance at Bath for Richard Hughes last summer. Blinkers are left off today. The unexposed horse is Solar Screen, third in a Newbury maiden last season before switching from Roger Varian to David Simcock.
The 1m 1f handicap at Musselburgh is a real head-scratcher but LITTLE TED (3.05) might be the answer for Tim Easterby and David Allan. He scored over a mile here last summer, following up an earlier victory at Thirsk, and will be straighter for his comeback effort at Pontefract when letting down favourite backers. With plenty of pace on, the race should be run to suit.
Caballero and Ayr Poet are turned out quickly after fine efforts in defeat at Ayr earlier this week. There was a rush of money for well-handicapped Caballero but he was just denied by Midnite Bride. That was over seven furlongs, so this longer trip raises concerns, but the Keith Dalgleish yard continues in marvellous form. Stable companion Finally Mine was behind Engles Rock at Doncaster and she has since disappointed at Beverley. Forseeable Future, second in an amateur riders’ event at Donny six days ago, is due to go up 3lb, so is nicely treated. The form of Tricorn’s Redcar fourth to Greengage has been boosted since but he is a difficult horse to catch.
The 5f sprint looks a burn-up, with trailblazer Mid Winster sure to appreciate the drop in trip after leading, before fading, over six furlongs at both Doncaster and Ripon. Paul Midgley’s mare has the plum draw against the fence but there is the chance she’ll be reeled in by dual course and distance winner VICTORY ANGEL (3.35). Harvey Bastiman’s top weight likes to come through late off a strong gallop, tactics which worked a treat at Beverley 16 days ago. Fashion Advice ran out a clear-cut winner over Afandem here in early April and should confirm places.
*NOTE FROM ADMIN*
Sadly, today's will be Alan's last post with us on the site as he has decided to hanging up his whip and retire from MrFixitsTips.
Thommo has been an integral part of the site for several years and we will miss valued contributions, his knowledge and of course, his multitude of winners on the site.
You won't meet a nicer bloke that Alan and I'm sure you'll join me in thanking him for his time as part of the team, especially if he's provided you with a few winners over the years, and wish him well for the future. Thanks Thommo!
From Saturday we welcome Rizzel Tips in to the saddle. Some of you will remember the brilliant contributions he's made to the site recently in and around the festivals. He's a passionate racing punter and we look forward to him leading us to more success against the bookies.
Cheltenham
6:10 – wick green 7/2
6:45 – sugar baron 3/1
8:15 – zamparelli 7/1
One from punchestown- 7:35 – gortmillish 3/1
Slightly better day yesterday with both Ronald Pump and Max Flamingo placing and Gauloise winning.
The 3.40 is a pig of a race. Not one to touch
4.15 Dostal Phil 6/1
Phillip Hobbs has done well over the years when sending runners over. Lto was 3rd 1 1/4L behind Sully D’oc Aa who came over and won yesterday. Up in trip for this and lightly raced should still have improvement in him.
4.50 Demi Plie 15/2
Only beaten 1 1/4L by Elimay lto and only got 8lbs that day from the winner and when you consider Elimay is rated 155 that was an excellent run. If she can reproduce that must have every chance.
I hope both Honeysuckle and Bob Olinger do the biz but I’m nervous for both of them. Honeysuckle meets Abacadabras on spring ground and he won well at Aintree and Nicky must think he can reverse the form otherwise I doubt we’d see Epitante come over.
Bob Olinger should be 1/3 on form so why is 4/7 available?
The HDB yard are running like donkeys this week and have been in general for sometime apart from the odd winner.
I do hope they both win though.
BOL
23 runners since his last winner DC and only around 5 winners since the Grand National he has to be worried.
GDM well bet to turn round the form with Bob Olinger not surprising with the form on the 2 yards.
Yeah cant disagree with that
7.05 El Barra 10/1 ew 4 places
Won at the Irish National meeting beating Suprise Package by 2 1/4L. That horse gave the form a massive boost by hacking up on weds by 6L. Very much better going right handed and from the Mullins camp who we know are flying.
Deb
GDM is also Townend’s only ride of the day.
Yeh av done him at 7/2
Well done with el barra DC. Nice one 👌
Asterion Forlonge…4.15 (*****). 11/4.

Malathaat….11/4 still available (****)
Wee R/fc with Search Pleasure 9/2.
Going forward I’ve backed Thunder Moon at 9/2 fir the 2000 Guineas and I have doubled it with Malathaat.
Be happy any land!

Thanks AT. One of the best tipsters anywhere not just MFT.
Admin, will he continue to ‘work’ elsewhere so he can be followed ?
I can’t believe someone retiring completely at the height of his powers.
I see link for McBookie
alan’s tips get posted to at least 3 other sites, maybe MFT dont want to pay him anymore and have opted for a regular joe off the streets, if AT is posting elsewhere i’ll track down and share ;)
Hi Crawmeister, not sure if Alan will be posting elsewhere, he just indicated that he wanted to stop posting at the end of the month and we respect that decision.
1:00 Goodwood – Bimble *** NAP *** 13/8
1:35 Goodwood Canonized ** NB ** 7/4
5:15 Newcastle – Vertice * each way punt * 5/1
Moore riding for Candy 1.00 Goodwood
Big run must be expected from Bimble 6/4
moore riding for candy is a reason to lay it not back it mate. he never rides for candy and thus never gets winners, it was actually his only ride in the last 365 days for him….
My Yankee for early one bimble canonized with stormy night 1 50 and auriferous 1 15
That was bad start
All the best for the future thomo sad to see you give up on us but you must have your reasons
rizzle tips?? looks like he quit posting on twitter around xmas, must be cheap.
sorry to see alan go, big shoes to fill, hopefully he is half as good as me.
Give up you clown 1 2/1 winner and a couple of placed horses in single figures in the last month and you think your gods gift 😂😂😂.
You couldn’t even pick the winner of a 2 runner race a few days ago and then there was your EW bet to nothing the other day that you didnt even look at the horses it was running against 😂😂😂 surprise surprise it returned zero for finishing unplaced.
Absolute 🤡🤡🤡🤡 of a boy.
Insider, Grow up.
as previously mentioned, if you just wanted winners that is easy, i try to put up more obscure stuff and even without digging into the form, from my return around the 13th of april i am AT LEAST 30pts up, so keep pulling figures out of the air, eagerly awaiting your next even money shot.
NICE ONE DEB YOU ARE SPOT ON

Insider, I don’t think it’s a good idea to post AT’s tips on here. Rizzles Tips should be allowed to take centre stage without distraction.
If people want to view AT’s tips they can view them under McBookie blog.
