TopTips Titanbet

SOME Champions League tips have been posted and Milesey's done a comprehensive review of some of the English League games being played tonight.

I'll have a closer look at the SFL matches and put up top tips in the morning.

I've gone for a Borussia Dortmund and Real Madrid double even through the Spaniards don't need to win in Turkey.

Championship leaders Cardiff should beat Barnsley and in the other game it will be interesting to see what sort of side Millwall put out at home to Sheffield Wednesday ahead of their weekend FA Cup clash.

Wednesday are my Super Single in the Daily Record today but I'd like to see more team news before being totally convinced about the Owls.

      HOME and AWAY DOUBLE
      ——————–

      Esbjerg (AWAY) @ 2.52
      Cardiff City (HOME) @ 1.67

      ———————–
off to Denmark for our first pick of the day – as Esbjerg travel to Sonderjyske, looking to continue the excellent form which has seen them climb the Superliga of late.

Jess Thorup’s side have not lost since re-starting following the winter break – and that makes three unbeaten on the road, and six without defeat home and away for the West Jutland side.

And they have kept an impressive four clean sheets from their last five outings, which shows just how comfortable they have found the last few weeks – a run of results which has lifted them to seventh in the table.

That is a decent return for the side which won the First Division last campaign, and they will be keen to maintain that form until the end of the season in order to pile the pressure on the top six.

Hosts Sonderjyske go into this clash in miserable form, having lost four of their last five since the restart – but it is the manner of those defeats which will most trouble boss Lars Sondergaard.

For the Vojens club have not even managed a goal in those losses – their only respite from that drought being a 5-0 thrashing of Silkeborg, which, going by other recent performances, we can treat as an anomoly.

And that makes a whopping 13 outings at the Haderslev Fotboldstadion without a win – which will have the SE faithful praying for a miraculous turnaround in form.

Sonderjyske now sit second bottom of the Superliga – and are in real danger of slipping out of the top flight unless they can pick up their results, and quick.

But unfortunately for the home side, I can’t see them beating an Esbjerg side full of confidence and momentum.

      Bet 1: Esbjerg (AWAY) @ 2.52

Back to more familiar climes now – and the English Championship, as Cardiff City host Barnsley at the Cardiff City Stadium.

Malky Mackay’s side have set the pace at the top end of the second tier for much of the campaign, and will be desperate to cement their place at the summit – with a five point gap and a game in hand suggesting that promotion to the Premier League is now within touching distance for the Bluebirds.

And 17 unbeaten from 19 at home shows just how formidable the hosts have been on their own patch – a run of results which will give them confidence ahead of this clash.

Barnsley travel south west sitting 20th in the Championship – and are just one point outside the relegation zone ahead of this clash.

David Flitcroft’s side have improved levels of consistency of late, and go into this one with just one loss in five – but their form away from Oakwell still leaves a lot to be desired, and they have not won in five on the road.

So tight is this division, that a couple of wins could move the Tykes up into a mid table position – but unfortunately for them, I can’t see them leaving South Wales with anything but a loss.

      Bet 2: Cardiff City (HOME) @ 1.67

Hi I’m back again, had a look through todays games and with Real Madrid basically through and Dortmund-Malaga poised at a stalemate that could genuinely go either way thanks to the away goal rule, I’m skipping straight to Wednesday for my main picks.

    FC Barcelona v Paris Saint-Germain > Wed 10th April

I expect Barca to win this quite comfortably, PSG were good in the first leg they were comfortable in possession and in Thiago Silva they have one of the best defenders in the game..sound familiar though? Almost the same could be said of the Milan game after the first leg, the only difference this time is that Barca have been less sporting and decided to give themselves more than a good shout of getting through with a couple of away goals thrown in.

One of the big questions is whether Messi will be fit enough to start, the guy rarely ever gets injured and this one doesn’t seem too serious, they certainly didn’t miss him at the weekend, his starting chances as I write appear to be 50/50 I don’t think we will know whether he will play until Wed. As much of a concern are the injuries at the back. Puyol has had surgery, Abidal is coming back from a long and serious illness, Adriano’s injured, and now Mascherano is too, they will have to shuffle the pack as they have had to do a few times this season, they have enough cover though. They were able to rest a few players at the weekend, if Messi doesn’t play Cesc will come in and he is hardly a poor replacement, would certainly be a starter every week at any other club in Europe, warmed up well scoring a hat trick at the weekend. Pedro will be fit to start.

Silva should play for PSG after missing the game at the weekend, they will certainly need him to be fit. DM Blaise Matuidi is suspended so Chantome might come in alongside Beckham. PSG haven’t generally been as strong away this season but still had good results and done well in the CL games winning 3 of 4, I just don’t really see them on the same level as Barca (or anywhere close to be honest), players like Alex and Beckham aren’t really this level anymore and like other ‘oil rich’ sides we have seen when they first start out they splash £100m on the front stars of the team like Ibra, Lavezzi and Lucas and other areas of the team aren’t of the same quality. There is no tougher away game than a CL game away at Barca when they want to win, they are massive favourites to get through to the semis and I expect it will be achieved with the minimum of fuss. If I had to pick out a scoreline i guess it would be 3-1.

Be aware the odds on Barca will likely rise if Messi is unable to play but as I said earlier you will probably be waiting until Wednesday if you want to know this news.

    Austrian Erste Liga

First Vienna 13/5 to beat Austria Lustenau.

Lustenau although top of the league have been dire since the restart after winter shutdown. 1 win in 7 including 5-0 & 3-0 away defeats make the home sides 13/5 look a tad generous.

3 singles today and a double:

Raith visit Dumbarton after picking up an impressive 4 points against division 1’s two best teams in their last two games! They go into the match knowing a win will gaurantee safety! A depleated Dumbarton lost 3-0 at home to livingstone on saturday and again are likely to be missing key players though injury and illness!

Raith have a pretty good recent record against Dumbarton, winning 6 of their last 10 while drawing 3!

    Super Single:

    Raith Rovers 13/10

Doncaster are at home to Carlise tonight on possibly the barest looking pitch you’ll ever see, there’s not a blade o grass on it!

Recent results at the Keepmoat haven’t been showered with goals and it’s little wonder! I posted earlier on blackpool’s struggle to score at home on their pitch and it’s a similair story for Doncaster!

Since the turn of the year, 7 of their last 9 home games have delivered under 2.5 goals with their last 2 being 1-0 wins

Would expect more of the same tonight

    Under 2.5 goals 3/4

If your brave under 1.5 is 9/4 and a 1-0 home win pays 5/1

There are two games in Scotland which should deliver goals ( I’ve probably cursed it now)

    Dumbarton v Raith Rovers
An incredible 82% of Dunbartons matches this season have yielded over 2.5 goals with an average of 4 goals per game!

Brechin host Forfar, two teams who love to score and conceded! Brechins last 13 home games have all been over 2.5 while Forfar have seen 15 of their last 17 matches go the same way! Both teams are averaging almost 4 goals in their matches so would expect at least 3 goals tonight!

It’s no surprise that BTTS has come in 23 out of forfars last 25 matches, similarly 21 of Brechins last 25 have seen both teams score:

    Recommendations:

    Over 2.5 goals double(5/4)
    Dumbarton v Raith Rovers
    Brechin v forfar

    Brechin v Forfar over 3.5 goals 11/10
Brechin v Forfar BTTS 4/9 ( not great value but worth having in a line)

    Good luck everyone :)

C I keep and eye on the Polish league and It can be funny results wise sometimes so not sure what to expect in the cup but from a form in the league point of view and the fact its the best team in Poland involved in the fixture the 10/11 on offer looks a not bad price in the 3 previous meeting in 2012 Legia beat Ruch 3-0 3-0 2-0 Legia have been making things hard for themselves of late conceding goals so 1/1 for the btts looks a good bet and for the more adventurous DRAW HT Legia FT @ 4/1 William hill could be a shout

    • Avatar of Danny
      Danny 12 years ago

on further inspection of the fixture I noticed Legia have won the race to 2 goals on 6 of there last 8 matches that makes the 11/8 on offer this time around look inviting. Ruch and Legia both do the majority of there goal scoring in the last 15 minutes of games with that in mind match goal 76th – 90th @ 21/20 and match goal 81st – 90th @ 6/4 are in with a shout
