THE only online bookmaker listing first-scorer prices on all SPFL games are McBookie .com.
It’s a great service they provide and we’ve teamed up with the Scots firm to look at some of the best bets from Scotland.
Here is McBookie.com’s Damian Walker with his latest selections.
Damian says: “Callumn Morrison kept the run going with a nice 15-2 first goal for Falkirk last weekend so hopefully I can find another winner or two on Saturday.
“I’m starting this weekend’s column in League Two where I am taking on Edinburgh City away to Annan Athletic.
“The Citizens have not made a great start to their league campaign, scoring just one goal from their last four league matches. They sit seventh in the table – already six points behind leaders Queen’s Park.
“So I thought the 11-10 about Edinburgh City was incredibly short given their lack of goals and especially given Annan Athletic’s 2-1 win at Stenhousemuir last weekend.
“I must admit I was surprised with that result as the Galabankies scored on the stroke of half-time and at the final whistle to beat my bet on Stenny.
“But back-to-back wins for Annan give me enough confidence they can take care of Edinburgh City at 2-1.
“Annan’s Max Wright failed to score in the first six games this season but has roared back with five goals in his last three games, including both goals in the win over Stenny. Wright is 5-1 with McBookie to be the game’s first goalscorer.
“In the League Cup my eye was immediately drawn to the odds of 17-20 about Dunfermline to win at Arbroath in the all-Championship clash.
“The Pars have been in fantastic form this season and sit on top of the table after beating red-hot title favourites Hearts 2-1 a week ago.
“Dunfermline are unbeaten in nine matches in all competitions having won eight of those games. That is an incredible record yet are just a shade of odds-on to beat an Arbroath side that sit ninth in the Championship table without a league win to their name. I’d have Dunfermline at around 8-15 for this game and they look a great bet at 17-20.
“And I am going to go with Pars defender Euan Murray to score the opener. Murray goes up for the set-pieces and has scored an incredible six times from nine games this season. Murray is a massive 11-1 with McBookie to score first.
“Finally in League One I like the look of Airdrie at home to Cove Rangers. The Diamonds have started to hit form in the league and the visitors Cove had just two shots on target last weekend at Falkirk, with the Bairns registering 11 such efforts.
“Airdrie are 2-1 outsiders but I would have this game more of a 50/50 game so they rate the value compared to Cove at 11-10.
“Striker Dale Carrick has scored 24 goals from 59 games for the Diamonds and this season has netted five times from nine matches. Carrick is also on the pens for Airdrie and rates the final first-scorer selection at 5-1 with McBookie.”
