THE standout fixture from the Premier League this midweek comes from the Emirates where Arsenal lock horns with Leicester.
Both respective sides will enter this capital clash off the back of morale-boosting victories last weekend.
The Gunners made it four wins on the spin across all competitions with a hard-fought 2-0 win away at Wolves on Saturday evening.
Consequently, Mikel Arteta's men have moved into seventh place in the Premier League and an upturn in form will see the north Londoners harbour ambitions of qualifying for next season's Europa League.
Leicester, meanwhile, gave their quest for continental football next term a much-needed shot in the arm when comfortably overcoming Crystal Palace with a 3-0 success.
Saturday's King Power triumph represented the Foxes first win since the restart – a result that could prove to be crucial in Leicester's bid to land a top-four finish.
Outright Betting
Arsenal are 5/4 with Bet 365 make it fives wins from five while a share of the spoils in north London is at a best 5/2 with Betfred.
Leicester have recorded just one win from their last 7 away matches across all competitions and a road success for Rodgers and Co on Tuesday night is trading at 2/1 with Bet 365.
Betting Angles
I highlighted Arsenal's heavy card count before they travelled to Wolves last weekend and I'm again going to delve into the card markets for this Tuesday night tussle.
Arsenal, having racked up 72 yellows in 33 outings – an average of just over two cards per-game – are the most ill-disciplined side in the English top-flight this season.
Leicester, meanwhile, sit second-bottom in the cards collected table, however, I'm happy to oppose the stats here and back Rodgers side to pick up a couple of bookings in what should be an open and entertaining encounter at the Emirates.
The Foxes have collected at least two cards in two of their last three league games and I can see referee Chris Kavanagh dishing out a few cards in the capital given the amount of pace and flair that these two respective teams posses in forward areas coupled with the fact that both are battling for European qualification.
With that in mind I'm going to make use of Bet 365's Bet Builder feature to combine at least one Arsenal card alongside over one Leicester card which looks nicely priced at 23/20 with Bet 365.
In considering who will come out on top on Tuesday night, this looks like a tough one to call given that Arsenal can be difficult to trust and it also remains to be seen whether or not Leicester's victory over Crystal Palace proves to be a false dawn.
Having said that, I am leaning towards Arsenal here given that the Gunners are going for five wins on the spin and they are continuing to show some notable signs of improvement under the stewardship of Mikel Arteta.
Indeed, a home win takes appeal at 5/4 with Bet 365 – Arsenal have won their last four league games at the Emirates – however, I'm going to take a slightly more conservative approach by backing the hosts to score two or more goals at 11/10 with BetVictor.
Taking this approach would have banked profit in each of the Gunners last four fixtures and the Foxes have recorded just two clean sheets from their last nine top-flight road trips.
The above-mentioned sample has seen four of the current bottom five sides in the Premier League make the net bulge when hosting Leicester and it's also worth noting that Arsenal banged in 12 goals across their last four league games in their own backyard.
