THERE'S little for Real Madrid to play for in Belgium on Wednesday night but for Club Brugge there's the carrot of place in the last 32 of the Europa League at stake if they can equal or better Galatsaray's result in Paris.
The current league leaders in Belgium find themselves a point ahead of the Turks in Group A and a Europa League slot would be a fitting reward for a campaign where they've done just about as well as could have been reasonably expected.
A 2-2 draw at the Bernabeu, which probably felt more like a defeat, plus two draws with Galatasaray sees them on three points going in to the final group game, which means that they'll still finish in third place, regardless of their result, as long as Galatasaray fail to win in Paris.
The home crowd will hope that they can benefit from Zinedine Zidane taking the opportunity to rest some regular first-team starts. Los Blancos cannot catch PSG and are destined to finish in second place and with an El Clasico looming on the horizon next Wednesday it's likley that Zidane will indulge in some squad management.
That shouldn't see standards slipping too much though, with plenty of quality waiting in the wings.
It's been a scappy group stage for Madrid so far, with only two wins from five, both against an under-performing Galatasaray side, so they'll want to finish the section on a high. They may even want to right the wrongs of those two dropped points at home to Brugge on Matchday 2.
Odds of 5/4 on a Madrid win are incredibly tempting, especially having seen Barcelona land odds of 4/1 on Tuesday night, away to Inter in a game that meant nothing to the Spaniards. Also throw in the fact that if PSG win, then Brugge can claim that Europa League slot even in defeat.
