IT was a difficult Saturday with many short-priced teams failing to perform but I profited thanks to my two main bets.
Dumbarton landed the Super Single at 23-20 with a repeat of last month's 3-1 home win against Forfar and the Top Treble won at 27-10 thanks to Spurs, Leicester dnb and Man City and over 2.5 goals against a Chelsea side who impressed.
Leicester, City and Liverpool were expected winners but Arsenal and Everton would have been on tens of thousands of accas and by all accounts both deserved to lose. I can't see how Toffees boss Marco Silva can survive a home loss to Norwich.
There were loads of goals in the Scottish Cup and plenty of shocks too with the likes of Morton, Queen of the South, Dunfermline, East Fife and Montrose all flopping.
Plenty of winners on the site though including Scott with his members treble, Greg with his Hibs bets and HullShaker with his Nap.
Also a mention for Nathan with his big investment on the Spurs game. Everyone has to be careful with his stakes and while his bets may seem reckless I'm happy he hasn't put a value on his points – and I'd ask him to keep it that way. Could be 10p or £10 – who knows?
Anyway to Sunday and a decent card. In the Premiership, I fancy Rangers for a convincing win at Hamilton while Aberdeen should beat St Johnstone in Perth.
In the Premier League it's Sheffield United v Man United and there's been a lot of talk about this one on the site. If the Blades were at full strength I'd take them to win or lose but the loss of keeper Dean Henderson, on loan from Man United, could be a big one as he has been exceptional.
Centre-half John Egan is a doubt and while macca rightly states Phil Jagielka is a decent replacement I'd prefer the Irish international to start in a defence that's been rock solid.
We know United struggle against teams like Sheffield Utd so for this could be a watching brief.
There are plenty of big games on the Continent to look at and I've picked out two trebles.
I posted my reasoning for Rangers and over 2.5 match goals on Friday night and I'm adding to that Hoffenheim and over 1.5 match goals.
Hoffenheim have won six in a row and are scoring loads while Mainz have lost five out of six on the road and that included an 8-0 battering at RB Leipzig.
Complete the treble with Marseille not to lose at a Toulouse side in poor form and with three home defeats in their last four. Marseille are in good nick and are aiming to climb back above Angers and into second place.

I would be interested in people’s opinion on the following. I have a number of online betting accounts and generally favour one or two of them. I follow tips here through some of the excellent collaborative folk, and also look at in-play stats and go for >0.5 mg and double chance etc., typically as trebles / quadruples, and quite a lot of these win. I hasten to add my stakes are small.
So whilst I don’t win everyday, most days i am ‘up’, and I have taken to reducing balances to a certain figure at the end of the week, and topping up accounts on any low balances, so that I am in a position to act swiftly if a particularly strong tip comes forward on any given account. I know very little about how the industry works, but wonder if this will be noticed and acted on by certain bookmakers in due course (ie if I am a repeat but small winner), or am I too ‘small fry’ to worry about.
Whilst the blurb talks about ‘the fun of betting’ and ‘gambling responsibly’, at the end of the day people would hope to take home more than they stake, and that is why many people gamble, and it this can be played out over time, then so much the better.
Any thoughts appreciated.
You’re not doing anything wrong you’re been sensible the only way you will get restrictions on any accounts are if you are regularly in big profit or have accounts in different names to claim free bets etc
Of course it will be noticed but having a number of accounts is the best idea.
As I’ve said already there are loads of criteria for closing or restricting accounts.
If it happens to you simply go with someone else.

But I was wondering at what level do bookmakers decide that a punter is costing them money ? Does it have to be £000, £00 or just tens of £ per month, ie will they penalise regular small winners at some point by deciding they are not worth having as ‘clients’ ?
Loads of criteria involved and accounts reviewed all the time.
Nowadays they’re more interested in the type of bets you do – and if you are then judged to be a savvy punter.
As a rough guide if you win about £5k over a year and do mainly goals bets and inplays they’ll be after you.
But I’ve also heard from losing punters who have had accounts closed or restricted.
