IT was some start to the weekend as Leicester went goal crazy to thump Southampton 9-0 and make it a winning night for most punters.

Leicester were my Super Single at 11-8 and I'll never land an easier one. There were loads of chances to get involved inplay at St Mary's but I apologise for not putting up any advice – I was enjoying Leicester's best and my Belhaven Best too much.

Leaving the first match alone and focusing on the Sydney derby where both teams come into it with a 100% record so far in a top of the table clash. Both sides have won their matches this season with the opposition netting and I can see both teams getting on the scoresheet today. In both the wanderers home games v Sydney last season this happened and I can see them giving the champs a stern test today. Interesting IBAS case reported today:
A 60-year-old punter from Loughborough says he is “gutted” that the betting arbitrator IBAS has ruled against him in a dispute with Betfred worth £189,000. David Smith was paid £23,000 for a six-horse bet he placed in June, as five of the horses won, but believes he should have had £212,000 on the grounds that he clearly intended to include Bialco, a winner, rather than Bailarico, the bet’s only loser.
Smith says he confused himself over the similarly named horses. But he wrote “2.15 P” next to Bailarico’s name on the betting slip, a reference to the 2.15pm race at Perth which Bialco won, whereas Bailarico was third in the 3.40pm at Goodwood. He also wrote Bialco’s odds, 7-4, next to Bailarico’s name, while Bailarico was 10-1 at the time.
But IBAS ruled there was no ambiguity, in that Smith had clearly written Bailarico’s name, and the bet therefore had to be settled on that horse, in line with established bookmaker practice of giving precedence to the horse name stated on a slip over other details, a precedence also referred to in Betfred’s rules.
Thats bad form from them I must say don’t use betfred is the message hear.

Oh god another one. Punters need to take responsibility for their own actions can’t just blame other people all of the time. If I selected Man U to win by mistake instead of Man City I’d be kicking myself but wouldn’t embarrass myself like David Smith did. I had a little money in a Betfred account, didn’t use it for months then went to log back in and I couldn’t, I spoke to customer service and they said that my username doesn’t exist!! Was only about £10 or so nothing like what they done to this fella, but it’s shocking behavior from them. Shame he didn’t get ruled for him. I feel his pain
Bad news for the punter , but there are very few bookies ( if any ) that would pay out on that bet .
The way it’ll be looked at is if the 10/1 won and he had over £2 million returned, would he have said ‘sorry that was the wrong horse’? absolutely not. Morale of the story is to double check your selection before you place
IBAS don’t always get it right but they will know no bookie would have paid out on this.
Whether it was a genuine mistake or not the punter’s giving himself 2 potential chances to win. The bookie doesn’t know he wanted the other horse and as has been said what would he have done if Bailiarico had won. I know IBAS and Betfred are going to be criticised but it’s the punter who has made the mistake and lines or slips must be checked.

I’d been awol for Wednesdays Derby v Wigan. Although I’d of tipped a Derby win, Derby were not all that good. The commentary made them sound really bad, but the tv highlights gave Derby a bit of credibility. The game was all going Wigans way who had the better chances and this match was heading for a 0-0. Derby upped their game when Martin came on for Paterson and they again lifted the attacking play around 20 mins to go with bringing Marriot on for Waghorn. This match was still heading for a 0-0, right up until the 92nd minute when Shinnie half volley a rocket shot in the top corner to seal the spoils. Wigan surely must of felt like they’d been mugged.
Derby’s football is still woeful. No fluidity about it, it’s all one dimensional, play to the side, pass it backwards, thread a pass forwards – lose possession and be caught on the backfoot. We have poor linkage to the front 3 and we cannot defend set pieces. Derby’s keeper Roos can stop a shot but has awful command/positioning in his 18yard and he cannot catch a ball. he’d rather punch it or tip over a none threatening cross. We miss Carson.
The only thing going for Derby is that we know how to score against Hull, its one of those teams that everybody in a Derby shirt likes to play.
I do see btts to come in, I think Chris Martin’s goal tally against Hull cannot be ignored and even though our last away trip to Charlton saw a 3 nil drubbing, Derby can win this. I’ve not looked at prices since yesterday as I’ve a lot on today again.
Derby have made 23 changes to the Wednesday starting 11. Martin and Dowell I know were 2 of them. Apologies if my summary is not up to my usual standards, but I am super busy and I’ll be tied up from now until the small hours.
