IRONCLAD (4.15) brings a good level of form into the 1m 4f handicap at Kempton and is poised to complete his hat-trick. Hugo Palmer's gelding was touched off by Durrell at Chelmsford City in June but took his revenge in a re-match at Newmarket 16 days ago. Ironclad is up another 5lb but is very much an improving three-year-old.
COCKALORUM (4.00) makes plenty of appeal at Ripon. He beat Billy Roberts over course and distance 16 days ago and his neck defeat at the hands of Nicholas T at Ayr was a very solid effort. Roger Fell's four-year-old competes off the same mark and gets the vote over Southern Rock.
Lady riders have the evening card at Carlisle all to themselves and course specialist Redarna has been in rampant form. At bigger odds VIVE LA DIFFERENCE (7.45) will be carrying my each-way cash. Tim Easterby's gelding was never in the hunt from a very wide draw at Ayr but made steady late headway into sixth behind Strong Steps. He is steadily coming to the boil and goes well on soft, so any further rain would bolster confidence.
ironclad will be a slection of mine tomorrow FWIW, i also have cockalorum in my draft but prefer to post in morning after the market develops a little more. cockalorum negative is he carries 10st, he probably wont make the final edit because of that but as alan writes, solid form recently. what i wrote was “A C&D winner two starts back he had two previous winners in behind. Next time out he went down by a neck to a horse who has won 3 and finished 2nd twice in his previous 5 starts. It’ll be hard to carry top weight ”
others under investigation are 18:45 Carlisle – Gale Force Maya 11/4 14.30 Four Wheel Drive 20:30 Windsor – Lethal Angel 5/2 18:00 Windsor – Mild Illusion 6/5 (probably watch Mild Illusion, beat market rival already but wasnt overly tried and dont like to lose on these types of prices)

Superb Alan T and Azz too ill be cashing my $1 four fold n hoping Ironclad makes it a Happy Monday indeed! ???
Four Wheel Drive wins at 2/1, I removed ZUBA to place on my page and typically it turns over Ironclad so will not be second guessing myself again.
3 remaining selections, as I removed 0.25pts from ZUBA i will risk them in MAYA’s race on NUBOUGH 5/1
18:45 Carlisle – Gale Force Maya 11/4 0.5pts win
Paula Muir rode a winner for us over the weekend and another trainer is utilising her 5lb claim to negate a 6lb penalty his horse incures for winning lto. The win was over today’s course and distance and if the ground stays fast enough, GALE FORCE MAYA could well go in again.
18:00 Windsor – Mild Illusion 11/10 0.5 pts win
A short price fav from a duo I always take note of, making her 3rd start connections will be hoping she can go one better having two 2nds to her name. Last time was over C&D beating reopposing Queen Salamah, who admittedly wasn’t overly tried, whilst on debut she had recent winner Ocasio Cortez in behind. She has been entered into a Class 2 race in October so good things are seemingly expected.
20:30 Windsor – Lethal Angel 5/2 0.5pts win
This horse looks well in with a chance, having a decent 7lb apprentice on board who the trainer has utilised quite effectively recently. The horse is very consistent, having finished in the top 3 in each of her last 5 starts (ratings between 67-70). The claimer puts her 1lb above her last winning mark. The biggest negative is the trip, having only tried 5f once, but that was 3 starts back and she was a nose 2nd although the form of that race is relatively weak. Bashiba was a length behind recent Goodwood winner Celsius and back in October was a close 2nd over this C&D off 14lbs higher. I tipped up Alisia R lto when her saddle slipped, an unexposed type could well be there at the end but she loses a 7lb claim and is up 5lbs.
Well in today Database you provided me with some much needed winners I hope the last one can come in for you in the 8:30pm @ Windsor for the Full house

Too Darn Hot has been retired
Last year’s champion two-year-old Too Darn Hot has been retired after picking up a career-ending injury.
Connections of the John Gosden-trained colt announced the news in a statement on Monday afternoon, revealing the colt had undergone successful surgery at Newmarket Equine Hospital.
The injury is thought to have been sustained in his most recent Group One victory, the Qatar Sussex Stakes at Goodwood last week.
