NO wonder the Boomtown Rats had a massive hit with I Don't Like Mondays.
I usual don't mind them but if they were all like yesterday I'd hate them.
My woes started with Andy Murray making a miraculous comeback at the Australian Open from 2-0 down to level at 2-2 with Roberto Bautista Agut in what could still be his final match.
I'm convinced anyone watching Agut would have cashed out the 3-0 and 3-1 Super Singles for almost full returns but as far as stats go it's 10 points added to the losses.
I hoped to recoup something on Man City and both to score but an early red card for Wolves killed its chance and the Top Treble was a loser too – so the stats are something I'll be looking to improve drastically in the second half of the month.
So I've had better days and hopefully Tuesday will be one of those. We have three FA Cup ties to look with potential for shocks especially at Blackburn v Newcastle and Luton v Sheffield Wednesday.
Kevinmac has posted a Blackburn preview and is tipping a draw. I expect Newcastle as usual to be seriously weakened for a cup game so I'd take Rovers not to lose as long as Tony Mowbray puts out a strong line-up.
Same goes for Luton who are still managerless but won at the weekend under caretaker Mick Harford. Depending on strength of line-ups you'd fancy Luton not to lose.
Elsewhere there are a couple of games in Spain and France. Another side not to lose could be Angers at home to Bordeaux. They've been beaten just twice at home and drawn nine.
The cup games in Spain are second legs with Valencia trailing Girona 2-1 and Valladolid 1-0 down to Getafe. Could be two more tight games.
Decided to go with a fourfold on Blackburn, Luton and Angers not to lose and adding Porto -1Ah at Leixoes in the Portuguese Cup. Again line-ups are key but if Porto go strong should win with plenty to spare.

Yeah a penalty and a red card in each game. You have to get at least one up in each game for a double. It`s 4 x doubles if you get a pen and a red in both matches .
First leg matches in Copa del Rey were poor for cards. Too cagey. But the second legs hopefully will be more open leading to cards.

The pre-season (Fotbolti Cup) may not be full on league status but it is way beyond a friendly and offers a great chance to showcase new squads and gain an early insight into potential form –
like a methadone substitute, it aint the real thing but it’ll do for now…

It you are just looking at straight H2H’s, this one won’t stand out with just 1 in 5 seeing more than 3 goals but I seemed to remember that the previous 2 pre-season games DID yield a few goals…a quick look at stats show that to be the case with the corresponding fixtures finishing with scorelines of 2-2 and and 3-1 in favour of Stjarnan.

Been ahming and arring about this Valencia v sporting gijon match. Tie is nicely posed at 2-1 to sporting gijon. Reckon they will do everything to beat Valencia and progress. H2h is high for card count but first leg only had 2 cards. Referee stats look decent so going to plump for 60 or more booking points skybet 1.91. think 6 cards is acheivable.
