TODAY'S card really is flatter than a witch’s tit but there may be a rare ray of sunshine and there’s a definite hint of colour about it – the future’s bright, the future’s orange.

Feyenoord v Utrecht (7.45pm)

I’m straying into Mr O’s territory here and bow down to his vastly superior Dutch knowledge but here’s my take on this evening’s cup match.

Both sides are having a fairly solid campaign and it’s difficult to ignore the attacking prowess and form for both teams. Aside from their horror show 2-0 defeat to Fortuna Sittard at the weekend the hosts have been in fine home fettle scoring 4-2-1-5-3-2-1-4-3-1-2-3-3-5-4 team goals in their last 15 successive games in Rotterdam.

For their part Dick Advocaat’s Utrecht side can’t be underestimated having netted at least 3 times in their last 4 league games and are evidently playing a particularly attacking style of play – add into this that Feyenoord have conceded in each of their most recent 4 matches and we could have a decent last-16 cup tie on our hands!

The hosts' opening 2 rounds saw a combined match goals total of 10 and with goals a likelihood on the agenda again I’m siding with these two selections.
