THE second Grand Slam of the season is underway at Roland Garros in Paris where Rafael Nadal is bidding to land the Coupe des Mousquetaires for a record seventh time.

Nadal, “The King of Clay”, is in superb form going into the tournament and will take some stopping. He gets his campaign underway on Tuesday against Italian Simone Bolelli.

The likes of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga, Juan Martin del Potro and Stanislas Wawrinka reached round two on Sunday but on Monday world No.1 Novak Djokovic and Roger Federer play their first-round matches.

Djokovic, bidding to have all four Grand Slams in his locker at the same time, tackles another Italian, Potito Starace, and should have few problems.

The Serbian is a best priced 1-80 with Bodog, Starace, the world No.97 is 25-1 with bet365 and William Hill.

Federer, also 1-80 with Bodog, should also ease past German Tobias Kamke (28-1, bet365).

Aussie veteran and former world No.1 Lleyton Hewitt often saves his best tennis for the majors and is worth a look at 1-1 with bet365, Betfred against Blaz Kavcic of Slovenia (10-11, Ladbrokes).

First-round recommendations

Lleyton Hewitt (1-1, bet365, Betfred) v Blaz Kavcic

Nikolay Davydenko (13-8, Blue Square, 888sport) v Andreas Seppi

Thomaz Bellucci (8-11, Stan James) v Viktor Troicki

Guillermo Garcia Lopez (4-7, betfred, Boylesports, Stan James, 888sport) v Michael Llodra
